I had a really good laugh. It is even funnier that you offer no solution to the problem in this episode. Thanks for having the courage to share this with us. Most enjoyable.
So on point!! I set it up yesterday correctly and then it went offline. I've been trying since yesterday and all day today to get it back on line but all I see is the same stupid spinning light over and over. Extremely frustrated right now and relieved it happens to other folks as well!!
Did you get it straightened out. Exact same thing. It worked and then it went offline and that was that. I even did a factory reset. Of course, it didn't do it until after I paid for a subscription.
I got in touch with ring, and it turns out, all you have to do is hold your orange button in for 30 seconds, wait for the bell to switch off, which completely resets the device, and start the set up process again. This worked for me first time after doing this. Hope this is help full to some of you who are having the same issue i had.
I was going crazy and ready to throw it out until I ready to connect to the chime! it took 30 seconds to do and ive been doing the reconnect to wifi for over an hour !!!! Thank you Maxwell Newton for the fix

Same problem here super annoying. Let me know what model you get. I had to drill into stucco also and mine is only 2 years old so very annoyed I’m having this exact problem. Thanks for posting, at least I’m not alone
So factual and so funny at the same time literally crying laughing 😂 listening . Not in a bad way I just know what your going through . All the money we pay but the RING door bells are finicky
I was just about to give up. Worked on this for an hour. Here's what worked for me. For my final attempt I restarted my phone and my router. I waited (rested) a few minutes. I made sure my router had a 2.4 ghz network available. It most likely has a different password than the 5g. I made sure my phone was connected to the 2.4 network. I was going to use that same 2.4 as the target network for my ring doorbell. I believe the setup failed because my phone was connected to 5g wifi and I was trying to connect the doorbell to the 2.4 side of my router. After all that, my doorbell connected, did an update and worked well. Hope that helps someone.
It can be blue or white and connect full circle then u use your app to connect the wifi etc the first time I set it up it was so simple now it’s constantly giving me issues
I’m having the same problem. And have been at it for hours. Just called my broadband company. Went through all the press 1 press 2 and my security… so it taken . About 10 min .. for them to say to phone back after 9am 😮. I thinking the problem is the new B-road and is only 5GHz . And ring doorbell only connects to the lower 1 .
OMG. I still have the same problem after I changed the battery. Mine is a year old model. The other 3 rings work except for this one and it shows the same as your display
UPDATE!!!! Called customer service and they did a hard reset (hold orange button for 60 seconds) and the set it up again. It is working like a charm now
You need to hold down the orange button for 15 seconds, while the light blinks blue then delete the device on your account and start over and mine worked :-)
I tried everything I saw suggested then finally called Ring customer service. A rep went through several steps then told me that my unit was not working and wouldn’t be able to be fixed. He offered me a coupon for use on their website for a replacement. I ordered the Ring video doorbell 4, received and installed it and it’s working fine so far. I installed it about 2 weeks ago. I wasn’t happy that the prior unit only worked for less than 1.5 years. But the warranty had expired so I had to pay for the replacement. Also the Ring Protect plan I had on my old unit didn’t transfer to the new unit so they had to cancel it, refund the unused portion, and I had to pay for a new plan. I didn’t realize it wouldn’t transfer until yesterday when I called them about it.
You have to go to the wifi settings and go to 'smart network switch' (sometimes you have to click on the 'advance' to get to it and turn that off and then it will sinc and that's it.
OMG! Thank you all for the info!! I just spent 4 hours with this Ring to connect to new wifi and it was driving me crazy!! After several attempts pushing that darn orange button it would not work. I rebooted Ring like 5 times and nothing. I think I heard the pearly gates of heaven opening and it was just the Ring. Well I tried everything you all recommended and one of the suggestions worked. I think it was changing frequency band to 2.4 GHz. So thanks y'all.
We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ru-vid.comUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
Mines is doing what yours is doing. In the chime app when I'm trying to connect no wifi setting come up for me to choose. I just got a new router and then this. Were you able to fix it?
This is the key!!!! Hold your orange button in for 30 seconds, wait for the bell to switch off, which completely resets the device, and start the set up process again.
All you have to do is to hard reset your doorbell. Press and hold the orange/black buttton for like 30 seconds. And after that try to set up again your doorbell. Thats normally happens if you change your wifi password or if theres a software update the device is automatically disconnected
Hi all . What you have to do is hold the orange button on the back. Keep holding it you will hear a reset sound come out of your ring door bell. It's very loud so you will know when you hear it. Then this will take you to the internet set up. This will work. Then you will have an update on your door bell. All done. Hope this helps.
Thanks for mentioning, this helped me too. Although I will mention that I held it for almost a minute and it didn’t make any noise, but after I released the button is when it made a noise and then it did the reset and worked shortly after. Maybe my model behaves differently, but either way this helped so thanks!
These things are a pain in the ass to set up, it never works, it doesn’t matter if you got gig speed and 2 inches away from the modem, it’s pure luck that it will connect
Well corrupted update on one ring doorbell the other is fine. Tried everything 20x 20ways this is fcd. No holding orange nothing works. Updates keep failing No Connection removed the other ring doorbell incase 2 interfered. Nope ahhhhhhhhhh 2 days and counting. At least 1 out of 2 brand new devices work.
2022. -- The Problem is that the Ring Doorbell Camera can be Easily Hacked & Taken *Offline by any Amateur hacker... This keeps happening at the same Location watching my car @ night time.
Stupid design flaw, have to find a strange little screw driver ( amazon) & take the doorbell off the outside wall. Somebody at ring needs a new job, maybe janitor.
Seriously? Why are people finding this video amusing? I have already wasted a half hour trying to get my connection going again. I wasn't looking to waste another 5 minutes watching someone else fail. This video serves no purpose and should be removed
