That would explain why she's such an idiot throughout the series: she skipped on every lesson that would have helped her gain some common sense! She totally ditched her communications courses as well. "There's a tempest in me!" "Stab. Twist. Gut." (We might want to learn more about actual combat, ma'am...) "Sometimes to find the light, we must first touch the darkness." (So that's how you're going to justify all your stupidity in season 1!)
The directors basically said: "we are gonna be original and do our own thing, fk the lore but we will also steal from the books and add in remember berries and copy the PJ LOTR trilogy.
The CGI is alright, but the writing is ATROCIOUS, it utterly betrays Tolkien. I keep hearing Morfyyd Clark is "a good actress", but u sure as sh** 💩 ain't in this series
She might be a good actress, but how they've written Galadriel is something that no capable actress could pull off. Because no matter what, it'd still be a betrayal of Tolkien's amazing character and her story.
She's not. People who say this always say this, and it's always cope. Look at the difference between her acting out her lines and Celembrimbor's and Sauron's actors acting out their equally bad lines. It's night and day.
@@Arcessitor That's true, the actors for Sauron, Celebrimbor, and I'd also add to that Elendil and Ar-Pharazon, deliver 100-110% in their scenes. It makes their jobs admirable, but it still doesn't redeem the awful dialogue and direction they were given... But I wish those guys all the best of luck with getting awesome roles worthy of the caliber!

Exactly! And this is going to be a central point in the upcoming RoP analysis video. This show is supposed to be a spiritual prequel to LOTR. That's at least what the creators want you to believe, but now you cannot believe anything that Galadriel tells you, which seriously diminishes her credibility as a hero or her recounting of the past. And so it throws the whole story into chaos!
Well done, especially from the writing standpoint -- much of which is pretty basic stuff, but which only tells me that these writers either didn't pay attention in class or are so childish that they think they know better no matter what. I think it's both, but most especially the latter since the show runners keep talking about writing the story Tolkien didn't write. Perhaps there was a reason he didn't write that story and was quite content with what he did do.
I agree. Hubris and lack of refined skill combined to create the Rings of Power. And it's such a mess. Tolkien would never have written a story like this, because he had something far better in mind!
Clark is too out of shape. She looks fat because her muscles have no tone. You can actually see bulges around the equater when she sits. You really have to be thin. Like Earian or even Astrid characters.

Probably in 2-3 years. Many have been thrown for a loop because recent news said that the 3rd season hadn't been greenlit yet, while the contract for RoP calls for 5 seasons. I think that Amazon is evaluating possible damage control and refinancing the series based on its performance across all 8 episodes before they give Payne and McKay the go-ahead to continue. Based on their evaluations, they'll shrink future budgets or maybe even fire the show runners or their staff and reorganize. But they're obligated to make all five seasons or fork over even more money they've already spent just to shelve the darn thing. But Payne and McKay have suggested that they already have the outlines and scripts basically done. They just need the green light to proceed with the next round of pre-production.
@@WeZePlay They're cooking a asty stew to explain the nine kings of men. There's one line in episode 8 that tells you that the steampunk dudes were once kings. So, they'll probably be the ones Sauron gives the rings to. Other than that? It's all a mess!

But so long as Payne, McKay, and Simon Tolkien are happily stealing story beats from other movies, shows, and books and trying to stitch them into a LOTR fanfic, it won't matter much if they get new writers. However, I would take the job to be in the writers' room. And I'd be there to annoy them to get on track to line up with the lore. At least as best as they can at this point.
