I feel like LEC didnt get enough shit for the broadcast going down during the final game and them just playing on with no pause to correct it. Just a massive slap in the face to the fans that we can pause for mystery mouse bug #900 for a half hour but pausing to let the fans actually watch the game is just glossed over because you wouldnt be promoting kitkat since the stream is down

Best of 3, regular season in Vegas. Vegas is unique in that it's such a major destination that even its local brands have national or international pull so you can pull local sponsors under the premise of reaching the marketing. Vegas doesn't mind an international viewership base because they just want to attract people. Like, it's SO obvious how easily this physical move can set a financial floor for the league perpetually until the game dies its own organic death. And it's a relatively short drive to LA so the relocation isn't a prohibitive cost or logistical challenge.

Moving the LCS to vegas or texas would be a cost savings dream. Labor expenses go down big time, players can accept lower contracts and actually THRIVE on league minimum instead of just survive in a place where food, gas and general cost of living is HALF of what it is in LA. Teams can buy or rent much cheaper player housing. It just seems way more sustainable. Plus if riot has to pivot to the Americas league to save everything from Texas it's still becomes a much shorter travel to have SA and NA meet up in Mexico city for a sweet road show finals in a venue that will cost next to nothing compared to renting out something like a stadium in the USA. Also just tossing it out there, overwatch had it's highest draw when in TX.

LCS Location. Texas is a good idea but stay out of Austin for the same reasons as LA with cost. Dallas or San Antonio would be better. East coast idea would be Charolotte NC. great central location, taxes arnt crazy out of controll. and you can create that rivalry if you want.

Keep an eye out on TES. I feel like we are not even close to the potential of this team. They have 3 mega Carrie’s and even tian can have carry performances. But also the combination of Ziggs for jackeylove and yone for Creme is also really nice. Also im mega biased but I swear this team will cook up some nice drafts

about asol. they playtested and all the asol mains said its to much they still get it to live. then after 6 hours they hotfix it. w is 3 times less dmg as buffed and twice before nerf. w lvl 5 before buffs 20% after buffs 26% and now after nerf 12% and now they took of dmg from the q 5 flat dmg and 5% a proc its insane.

Its easy just move the LCS to Chicago.... Its cheaper than California, its closer to the server so the ping thing is also fix, you move it to other time zone so its easy for EU to watch and costream and more important you separate it fron Valorant so we dont have 3 weeks of nothing. Best of 3 and you commit to 4 days of broadcast like LCK and for the first year you do it remotely so its cheaper than having all the players and all the broadcast crew in one place and maybe just maybe save the LCS. Finally keep the league short 8 teams is working wonder for competititve develpment and being the only region struggling in viewship will help build that viewrship or just die because NA League of Legends its just bad. But as Monte said massive changes need to happen if Riot wants NA to survive

For changes to the LCS format if the argument is that 3 games is potentially too many due to hourly wages and is to expensive best of 2s would be a good idea where you can play off of an aggregate system like the UCL in football. Where if both teams win a game then you can determine the winner of the series based off of objectives taken? Or kills? Or something. I feel like if you did it this way, yes you would get a lot more fraudulent teams winning but maybe a different take on the meta instead of the same 12-20 champs maybe it extends a bit with people focusing on different types of comps to play for objectives into a get out scaled team comp or something I don’t fucking know man

Problem with Bo3 is simple. Riot is worried about viewership not understanding that the worse teams in all sports get lower viewers. 2. Then People like Travis and azael. They don’t want to work. They take vacations mid season and say they work hard. Never saw Al Michaels take a vacation in season. 3. They have to use the overpaid union crews in Cali when other studios in other places would be incredibly cheaper.

Maybe it's just me, but I've lived in NA my entire 22 years of life have traveled across the country and lived in two different states I've only met 1 kid in my entire life that has ever played league and it wasn't competitively. I understand Montecristos argument for advertisement but in the reality that I've seen NA plays console way more than PC so most kids aren't playing league. So, I am shocked when anyone brings up the lack of NA viewership in LCS and questions it... LCS is alive because other regions still have kids playing PC and playing league and their watching LCS... that's about it.

Idk if I can agree with the viewership take. Tbh I think the issue is twofold. The target audience is older we have shit to do now. We can’t do what we did in undergrad, smoke a bowl call over the boys and kill a flat of millers while watching LEC into LCS. LCS time slot is still awful tbh. It’s competing against other prime time sports but also peoples social lives, their family time, etc. LEC being in the morning for American fans is ideal. It’s on while you’re still vibing out recovering from the long work week. NA could be the best region in the world, but native NA fans would not watch because you’re asking us to pick between C9 and going on a date. Or 100t and playing with your kids. Or FLY and the La lakers.

I think Travis is definitely wrong about Bo3s. BUT.... relocating the LCS is a baked ass idea. Riot is already shredding costs. This will not actually help. These orgs cant afford their own arenas, so geolocation isnt possible rn. Also, if the LCS adopts the LEC format it will have an overwhelmingly negative effect. LEC has been trash for a few reasons and format is one. LEC teams have never looked weaker or more uncoordinated as they have in the past year. Single round robin Bo1s is terrible and doesnt actually measure which teams are good (hence why every team made playoffs last year), the playoff bracket is fine, but 3 splits and a season final is overly cluttered and makes no fuckin sense. 2 splits. Single RR Bo3s or Bo2s into playoff bracket. Clean and simple. 7-9 weeks per split into playoffs is not bad.

The bo3 debate is weird because both sides are right ? Yes bo3 are better than bo1 and would help the league get stronger but bo3 (with what past stats seems to indicate) will hurt viewerships which is already at an all time low. So the question is: 1- Do we commit to bo3 and hope that the POTENTIAL international success reignite the league viewerships ? 2-Do we stay a for fun league with the bo1 and try to slowly grow back into a stable league before committing to anything else ?

Difference is how they win games. MDK win because they play well. 100T win because they play well, then throw, then enemy throws again. You can't do that vs better teams.

@@nc_aravindan hard to compare their play when 100T have two weeks left in their regular session while MDK entire season ended. The point Monte made in a different video was that it’s bad for the region if a team of rookies is second place. He said that means the region is bad. But let’s examine their 9 games played. 100T have a strong early game, strong team fighting but they make mid game mistakes. Not being 100% perfect in the mid game is normal for a team of rookies. I have no doubt they’ll figure out their mid game. All the other stuff they’re 100 at. Meanwhile MDK tripped to the finals after beating an imploding BDS team and a very disappointing fnatic team. But hey I guess that just means the region is really good huh. Also it’s kinda funny BDS themselves imploded. Especially after worlds where they beat an imploding GG roster which isn’t even in the league any more. Let’s see how what happens to BDS 🤷‍♂️

The meta between now and worlds is completely different. Items are completely redone for one. And so many champs got overhauled. Plus the jungle is completely different compared to previous years.

I find the LCS more of a joke League this year than last year. It's very hard to take this league seriously when it's so obvious that Riot Games seriously DOES NOT GIVE A CRAP ABOUT THE LCS. Riot doesn't care. Every week it's always about viewership this, viewership that and Riot puts out this stupid 4% increase and the predominant conversation is centered on viewership and then the conversation goes to How can Riot change the LCS to increase viewership and no one ever considers the possibility that all of this is a smokescreen to cover their asses. If Riot truly gave a shit then Riot would actually make real changes. Riot would hire the people the fans want to see. Riot would give us a real NA League instead of this subpar international league that fails every year on an epic scale. The LCS is a joke League.

What is Monte's obsession where every week he calls KT frauds regardless of their performance. Literally everyone predicted KT to be 4th or 5th in the LCK, and every week theyre 4th or 5th in the LCK. Yet Monte makes it his life goal to make it sound like they're bottom tier or that there's a bunch of people saying they can win the LCK when not a single person has.
