number of issues with the champ from design - this guy just sits under turret and pokes with w til he has ult, then shifts to mid lane as soon as he gets ult up and deletes waves with w and ult from a mile away til he is stacked up and then he is basically a kayle level 16 just 20 minutes into the game and takes over..boring to watch, uninteractive AND strong? spells disaster
it'll be cool to take away the execute on Q and put it on the R and up the ult CD like GP or Karthus stacks increase Execute on R stacks like GP upgrades
What they should do is shift the AOE upgrades to his W. If he wants to wave clear quickly, he should give up stacks to do so. It’s fucking stupid that he just one shots waves with Q at 125 stacks
With the pre recorded drafts the only thing I'd improve is that we don't watch the players during them being played back to us whilst the players are not seeing the same thing or reacting, sometimes leaving their chair and wandering off

I thought I was crazy because I have seen no one else complain about Smolder's ult cooldown. Ziggs and Azir could perma stall or perma push games back in the day and Riot made changes to mitigate that. Then smolder is just a stronger version

The silver lining in the Smolder saga is, that the criminal who made Smolder and K'sante as well got fired. So he thankfully wont be spreading his bullshit anymore.

Not sure why Dom goes home on the "inherent design flaws" There's a billion things that you can do with his kit, some of which the Monte has suggested including having to AA to proc stacks It's not that the stacks themselves are evil because you can just make them supplementary instead of the main thing (balancing around basic abilities as opposed to ults with long cooldowns or stacks is better design anyways) The champ just needs rework on day 1 that's about it xD
C9 looked so tilted against shopify. I would investigate Berserker for that last game. With only a 3 day turn around before 100t I'm not sure it's enough time. Should be a banger series

I got lv7 smolder so quickly. I would like to be able to include AAs in his kit as he is basically a caster and not a AD carry. The burn can get ridiculous with liandrys and stacks with elder. I think a shift in power of abilities is the best way with a nerf or adjust with long ass ult cd. I would imagine these nerfs will just kick him out pro for no skirmish power. Ideally he should be super weak to aggressive lanes like samira naut but the wave clear even at the beginning of the game with w is strong. Rito love the dragon power fantasy (rip a sol)
Another thing i really hate about Smolder is that i am OG nasus player, have not played league in months. And seeing a ranged champ being a stacker that does so much more. Like imagine if nasus had stacking reworked to where it gave extra effect based on the amount of stacks.... nah rn its just damage
I agree that everything is smolders q is so dumb like just make the max stack count 500 or smth and let it stack on all abilities hit instead of him just mashing q on minions until he reaches is
It’s crazy to me that anyone actually cares about this. DL and drama are a package deal. His complete lack of self awareness is incredible. I can’t imagine being so self involved that I wouldn’t be able to foresee someone who I had previously caused problems for not wanting to work with me in the future. It’s very on brand for DL. If there were issues, it’s between Steve and Dodo, but I strongly suspect there were no actual issues other than the blowback of DL yapping.

Riot is really shit at buffing / putting the spotlight on champs that ARE FUN to watch. Top lane was ruined because of the Ksante/Udyr/Aatrox snooze-fest. Now they're coming for bot lane 😫🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Isn't it a potential competitive integrity issue to have the draft done outside of the vision of the spectators? A company with loose morals could easily use a setup like that to nudge competitive results the way they wanted, or even just nudge certain champs to be picked for skin sales.
This hypothetical self regulates, and honestly, I don’t see how a pre-recorded draft could possibly increase the risk of it happening. The players and staff would all be huge liabilities in keeping any of this under wraps. You could maybe argue against the value of pre-recorded draft in other ways, but this isn’t it imho

As much as i know riot wants to get new players involved in the game by designing kits that are "beginner friendly"...just...stop. STOP. Theyre incredibly hard to balance and if theyre ever viable, theyre abused in pro play/high elo. You cant make a champion thats easy for beginners that can also be balanced for higher levels of play. Theyve tried multiple times and its proven time and time again, it does not work. Im not saying every champ needs to be inherently strong or difficult to execute. Kits can still be simple, but dont try to balance a champion around them being inherently designed for beginners.❤
every other new champ they release these days just breaks the game and makes League a joke game where draft is the only thing that matters (or has a very heavy weighting at the very least)

Base on your match up it changes from range to melee all you press is q. It solo lvs your skill points does the combos automatically and scales like crazy and has a execute and global ult. So its super noob friendly.
Let’s not complain about before smolder existed Corki rockets deals half your health, 3 item Azir wins you the game, doesn’t matter if you have 6 items on adc rengar one shots you, ONLY viable adc’s are the ones who can utilize Lethality because crit was so garbage. Yes that was when Dom and everyone laughs and have a good time. When he plays Udyr chasing down an adc who could be an item or 2 up and he still kills him. But nope nerf Smolder to the ground so adc have to go back to playing grey screen simulator. Look I understand non interactive gameplay isn’t fun to play against or watch and the feeling of inevitability is horrible. But let’s not sit here and pretend there wasn’t champions like that didn’t exist before smolder. The only difference is he’s not in the lane or role that YOU play that being said Smolder should not be able to be played top

It feels odd to be criticizing the balance team for making “random champion buffs and nerfs, and ruining teams’ opportunities to learn and grow” when in most years past all we did was rage at the same 10 champs being picked every single pro game.
Well if you were listening, their point was that champs are constantly being over-buffed and over-nerfed, showing that Riot doesn't actually have a direction or idea that they are working towards. They are balancing champs like they are playing darts after a few too many drinks.
if champs were actually balanced there would be more variety in drafts and we wouldn’t be seeing the same 10. right now riot is too extreme with buffs and nerfs which makes it so the same champs are always being played
