Another great hit of canon is the fact that Doomguy is actually better off just using his hands to kill the demons. The game would be cut to a third of what it is if he just used his hands. However, he loves guns so damn much that's his preferred method of ripping and tearing. It really is a beautiful game lmao

Can't wait for Doom Eternal Dan :D it was my first Doom game. Really helped me with some of my pandemic anxiety. One of my favourite things is the community, it can be oddly wholesome to an extreme. Like, I mentioned once to a Doom fan how I have trouble with loud, bright & fast-paced games so I play on easy to just help with it. I love the Doom games, but it can be a bit much cause I get sensory overload real easily. They were really nice and all, "Have fun! Don't push yourself tho, ok?" And my love for Doom was solidified. Rip & Tear

I feel you’re underestimating the lengths that Mick Gordon went to for this soundtrack, because the part about the chainsaws in the soundtrack isn’t the full story. Most if not all of the guitar sounds you hear aren’t really guitars, it’s chainsaw sounds they recorded and put on a synthesizer

My favourite little thing about DOOM is when Hayden tells Doomguy to stop during the Argent pipes deal, he actually does. The Doomguy isn't stupid, he's willing to listen, at least for a minute. Then he smashed the pipe anyways because he didnt like Hayden's sell.

Probably more so because he literally couldn’t figure out how to remove it properly and just gave up. If Hayden wanted them intact so badly, he probably should’ve given doomguy better instructions lol

Something I like about the 1st level is that it ends with Hayden trying to reassure Doomguy that everything is under controll and that it's for the greater good, and while this is happening your perspective quickly glances at the dead body in front of Doomguy. The reaction to the corpse is all he needs to abruptly smash the monitor that Hayden is speaking from. It's short, but gets the message across that Doomguy isn't convinced by Hayden's crap and is a nice show of character without needing words.
