The seats have 5 dots embossed in the backrest, which casts doubt on the 4 dots on the steering wheel being Morse Code. Not saying it isn't, but if it is then what do the five dots mean?
@@Nabilllllllbrand image? Hyundai is absolutely killing it these days. Only people who don't seem to agree at 15 year olds who think they run the car scene on TikTok lmfao. To any real car enthusiast Hyundai is winning
@@Nabilllllll really? Because I own a Kona N and I have several positive interactions with other car enthusiasts every time I'm out with my car. Hell, I dusted an STI two days ago and dude told me to pull over so he could go for a drive in it 😂. I've only ever heard negativity about Hyundai online and it honestly leads me to believe it's by people who aren't enthusiasts. I'm willing to bet you yourself have never driven an N series car (N not N-Line)
I drove a 2019 Kona Limited and today I'm driving a 2022 Kona Limited. This new N-Line has the "WOW" factor, but for another $1500, I would rather get the Limited AWD trim. The Limited adds eco-leather seating, power trunk liftgate, and the digital dash shows the outside of the car when using turn signals. Oh, and the self-park feature that the Sonata debuted where you can park the car in a tight space or in your garage while you are OUTSIDE the car!
It's really interesting to me the features you don't get on the Ultimate in Canada that we get on the Premium trim down here in Australia. Premium gets Power tailgate, power adjustable passenger seat and heated rear outboard seats OH and the Driver and front passenger seat have a "relaxation" mode. All trims get a space saver spare. We also get a 1.6 Hybrid. Only the N-line gets AWD and only with the 1.6T - Which I mention because you can have the N-Line with the 2.0 MPI OR the 1.6 GDI Hybrid OR the 1.6T GDI.
I absolutely love the frigging front end of the car. The amount of tech hyundai has to offer in the ultimate trim is so much better in every single way than the vanilla stuff like HRV, CHR, etc. Another stellar video Sam !
Yah I saw one today on the road as it passed by and I was like whoa what is that, the angle looking at it towards the wing looks good and the front end is aggressive
Picking up my 2024 Kona N Line Ultimate soon! For exceptional service, visit Don Valley North Hyundai and look for Gee. This is my second purchase and Gee will be your guy!
im trying the top of the range ( in the UK) Kona hybrid ultimate tomorrow morning..looking forward and hope i like it..its the bose speakers thats drawing me in to be honest...shallow i know 😮
I dont mind this. Is the interior space similar to a civic hatch? I know the gen 1 well and its int size is tight. Would it take a mountain bike inside w front tire off?
The US N Line Ultimate - looses the red strip in favour for a chrome one, loses the sporty wing for a chrome luxury one, and has a power lift trunk. All around looks more for luxury than sporty. And yep also gets a spare tire. My Kona N Line Ultimate is arriving in 1 week, and that spare tire is the first thing I am working on getting. So dumb they dropped it in Canada. When all other competitor cars have one.
I wouldn’t recommend the placement of the front headlights and rear lights. Prime area where things scrape or hit. This should be reserved for cheap replaceable bumpers not expensive lights.
It’s the design of the present and future. Especially low set headlights because they are less likely to blind people. They also eliminate the need for fog lights. People always just got fog lights anyway because they thought they looked cool. That trend rapidly changed and now they are way out of style.
I was really disappointed in how these drive, not nearly as fun as they look. There is a massive delay between putting your foot down and actually getting power even in sport mode.
That's why I'm glad I still have my trusty old 2002 Volkswagen Polo 74 HP 1.4 TDI (no relation to failure-prone modern vehicles sold under the same brand name) with what I call "Polo Power" (you can feel the jerk when you accelerate and the turbo comes into play). It is fun to drive despite also being a 3 cylinder. But I don't expect my large 120 HP 1.0 T-GDi Kona (considerably heavier and with fewer CCs) to perform like that. No matter how they market it, it is a family car. I only expect low fuel consumption and a sticker letting me access low-emission zones. If it drove like my Polo it would be a gas guzzler. Plus, I'm a sucker for the Ioniq-style screens and the high-tech look and driver assists.
The rear light cluster is too low for good visibility for tailgaters at red lights and they are in a great position to get damaged with minor bumps.. Also I wish that stupid looking rear spoiler was an option. For adult drivers we don't want to look like boy racers plus no spare or even a donut and no memory seats and at this price point it isn't a bargain at all in my opinion and we are a Hyundai family owning nine vehicles. Good review though and Sam doesn't build them so it's not his fault.
I heard people say that the car is lacking on the performance end, is it true? It does seem like the suspension is loose and the engine is a relatively weak. Is the car fun to drive though? Might not be as sporty as you think?
@@yairmichaeli I drove the Kona premium model recently and omg the suspension was amazing it just soaked up any bumps and you didn’t even notice. You barely have to touch the pedal and it’ll go it didn’t rev hard at all like I found with the Mazda cx30 it actually just went so easily and I only found out at the end they had it in eco mode! I didn’t notice any lack of performance at all it definitely has a lot of power and it’s so light to steer as well. The lane change isn’t invasive and is almost to the point of hands free steering itself. All in all I loved it and I actually put a deposit down a few weeks ago 😁
@@SamCarLegion alright need your opinion 40k budget option available to me 2022 crv touring old shape 2020 mdx aspec Which one you think will hold value better for next 3 years which is better value for money Any other suv you recommend I might check that out !!
@@SamCarLegion the US, we get the n line, but its missing the LED turn signals, the cooled seats, the 360 camera, & it has blanks in the center by the drivemode knob & by the light buttons 😔
@@zaerrius6939 Hyundai appear to change spec and trim level names depending on where you are. In the UK we get Advance, which is the base model, Premium with a few more bells and whistles and the Ultimate which is top level. In sports trim we get an N line and an N Line S, which is top level. On top of that, for the Ultimate and N Line S there is an option pack, called the lux pack which gives what they call luxury front seats, digital key (think you link to an iPhone to open car) and another piece of kit or two. Colours can differ as well. Am considering getting an N Line S and selling our Tucson Hybrid.
Will be recalled a year later for ABS catching fire or some bs components. Rip other Suvs lol? The HRV needs that 1.5 turbo or Type R engine but will never happen.
I run a fleet of hyundai kona they are crap engines burning oil hybrid motors. Locking up and damaging the crankshaft they have become junk will never buy hyundai again
It is very hideous same thing with the previous generation with the lights on the bottom in the rear that looks like they have headlights a silly design Hyundai can do much better
