RIP Gene Wilder - Funny Reactions in See No Evil, Hear No Evil

I noticed a lot of Gene Wilder tributes left this movie out. During my childhood, this movie was the most frequent movie of the week on WWOR-TV. So much so, that I could literally quote scenes as a 3rd grader.
RIP to a great actor, much more than Willy Wonka or Dr. Frankenstein.

There is a part where Pryor is driving and Wilder is the passenger. Pryor keeps looking at Wilder and Wilder says, "Keep your eyes on the road" and Pryor replies with "If it'll make you feel better". A line I'll never forget.

@danieldietrich9969 Год назад
The line that sticks with me is a really good joke that I think they could have set up a little better, near the end of the film when they're about to zipline out of the mansion, Pryor's character mentions that he's afraid of heights.

Back then unless you were some extraordinarily special or talented person, you had to live just as plain old regular life as everybody else across the country and your options on what to do almost all required you go out of the house to one of several specific kinds of venues or events like seeing a movie at the theater (Netflix/hulu/etc.), going antique shopping (Ebay/FB marketplace), go to the mall (amazon), go to a dance or concert or a bar. Now it's all indoors online stuff that's niche so everyone has all these different specific interests and don't socialize as much with people different than them so people just aren't making comedies that have that sense of grounding in the real world and relatability to the characters and story even if it is something over the top like brewsters millions where a failed ball player inherits 300 million only if he can spend 30 million in 30 days under a weird set of rules, I love that movie it's just so entertaining and the characters feel real like I genuinely believe they all could be real people not just characters playing some part but real every day people.
@mt1qua
@mt1qua Год назад
To say this movie wasn’t as well received as their previous movies just show that the crap they made back then is still better 100 times better than the crap that’s made today. It’s also remarkable that two people who didn’t socialise or really get along can have such great chemistry and comic timing.

Back when comedy was stylish enough to make characters that you had to love. They're both so good in quite a number of films, but this one was the only one I got to see in theatre. We all had such a great time watching the interaction between these genius men. This and Raising Arizona were the best I got to see as far as strictly comedy films. Ghostbusters doesn't count as though very funny it was more a sci-fi with loads of humour. Other honorable mentions Mickey and Maud, Oh God you Devil and of course Beverly Hills Cop. A Fish Called Wanda was a bit too late for me, but if you can find it, check out Splitting Heirs with a lot of the same cast...a hidden gem.
@justinmanser7525
@justinmanser7525 Год назад
@@kevinjones9586 of course, all of the cast being Saturday Night Live alumni. But Sigourney Weaver was in a little known science fiction film called Alien. Was she a comedian in any way at the time? At the age I was when I saw Ghostbusters it was over my head most of the comedy, however I was very stupid until I was 17, mom took me to get fluoride treatment way too much....fucked up my brain on so many levels. I agree with you though, in hindsight it is very funny. There were some scary scenes though like the dog chasing Rick Moranis and the librarian in the beginning, not to mention that conversation between Ray and Winston about Revelations and the dead rising for the end of the world.
