All hype I'm afraid. He needs years to even begin to be ready. To beat any of the top guys anyway. I know he's strong af but people don't realize how much technique has to do with it. If he can learn fast af then he might can make a splash but he is already past his prime. I'm here for it, just don't expect too much is all I'm saying.
@@bee2690 I'd assume this guy is dirty rich already but i don't follow him that well. But even if there was an mma contract he sold it like this is THE THING he wants to do and be the best at
@@brenothelast devon isn't the goat even in his time avoiding europeans for 16 years on the right hand isn't goat material. Brzenk/Veovoda/Cyplenkov/Pushkar/Levan those guys are goat material they never ducked or avoided anyone win or lose. Can't say the same for devon.
@@brenothelast no such as goat of their time Obviously newer athletes will get better, as sports evolve. You can only rate someone in their own time. 20 years from now the pullers will be better than now. That's evolution Devons level for sure has way surpassed John, but John was way better for his time. He was the legit guy for decades GOAT, means greatest of all time. Not greatest of every era. I'm a long time fan of the sport. Of course the standard is higher now, but John was the king as a middleweight for decades. Devon has never actually proved to be the number 1 guy. There has always been question marks if he was ever really the number 1 guy on the planet. John had close to 25 years. It is not even close
He’s strong enough to win the hand fighting and top roll if he wants, he can press, side pressure and hook, or even rise up and pull back. I think he can do whatever he wants.
Brian is going very slow because he doesn’t wanna injure the other guy and himself. He knows he’s very strong and he knows he can completely ruin someone if he’s not careful
Shaw is one of those dudes that nobody has any excuse not to like, so he's universally liked. The only people in the world who do not like Brian Shaw, are a few of the people he beat in competition.
Im a huge Brian Shaw fan. Watched him compete in strongman for years. I dont know alot about arm wrestling. When Brian leaned in for the press at the end is it a foul if he leans too far over the table? Or is it fair game once the match starts? Im legitimately asking
Devon lose beacause Levan has huge shoulder and body core. (this is also being said by Levan himself after the match) today Brian Shaw is perfect match for him, just look at that shoulder, with StrongMan body, strong backbone, he only need to train his arm, wrist, thumb. give him 2-3 years.
Brian is not beating levan unless he literally turns into an armwrestler 100%. Levan may have more mass but Devon has a bigger body, Levan said Devon lost from a lack of side pressure and raw power.
Vitaly really doesn’t lack bodyweight, he’s 140ish kg! However, he has very long leverages, meaning that his elbow flexion and extension (back pressure and press) are limited. For this reason, Vitaly should press with a cup wrist as he did in the AMC tournament. He tried to flop wrist press Ermes instead, and he failed.
Levan is bigger. Genetically. Same weight, 400lbs, although Brian is 370 right now...but Levan has bigger hands, thicker wrists....even Devon does.... no chance for Brian in hell... in fact since Levan is younger than Brian by several years if he would enter strongman it'll be game over for Brian. If Brian is lucky he can take On Schoolboy but by that time school boy will be another 30 pounds heavier and toy with him
Exactly.... Levan is not only stronger but also bigger in every way. Hands, wrists, biceps....he'll toy with him...and Brian will be speechless ..he's never met a Levan....different human....like Denis, Zokh ...genetic advatage.
This^ Him and Thor probably the only people around who can hold 400 when they want. And seemingly have no problems doing that it doesn't effect their health an well being. I mean Brian has held that weight area for years an years. His stamina is great for a HUGE guy as well.
Shaw is the only person in the world that has a chance to take down Levan. But it will take a long time to even get close to Levan, let alone winning which won't be easy even for Brian.
hm somehow Brians Power could also be a weakness. He is gonna have a hard time finding training partners, aside from the super heavyweight top 10, who are strong enough to challenge him physically, while simultaneously don't allow him to get away with imperfect technique by simply brute-forceing them. Bad Habits, once attained die hard. And experienced Arm wrestlers will be able to exploit that.
Isnt it a bit unfair for shorter guys to compete vs him when all he has to do is to put his own weight from above, which he has the leverages thanks due his height?
You want him to get beaten so suddenly? He's not an arm wrestler so it's going to take quite sometime before Shaw is prepared for a match, especially when he's in the super heavyweight category.
@@assman7218 you don’t need years of conditioning to just actually pull. I’m not saying a high level match. I just want to see what he would actually do. And how he would actually move. This isn’t a good representation of either.
I don’t think people realize how strong professional arm wrestlers are in their specific movements & techniques…. No doubt Brian Shaw is a beast and has the size, strength & frame to become a serious contender in the super heavyweight division, IF he devotes serious time & energy towards armwrestling specific training, table practice and acquiring more experience actually competing in armwrestling matches (with all the ready goes, false starts, fouls, straps vs no strap, set up strategies, dealing with hand/ arm pump, knowing how/ when to set up & counter for hook, top roll, press, etc. etc.) Right now, Brian Shaw is a beginner and candidly, despite his immense size and strength, basically any of top 20 guys in the lighter 105 & 115kg divisions would absolutely destroy Shaw at this point in time. He will need a fair bit more time, technique and understanding how to apply his strength in the armwrestling specific movements before he will be able to pose any real challenge to the top seasoned super heavyweight arm wrestlers.
Calling him a competitor for Levan is insulting Levan and the sport itself. Brian is my favorite strongman, such a gentle giant :D Seeing his dedication and commitment to his strongman career, am sure he could do well in AW, but he had a long way to go. Right now am sure everyone in the SHW category will run him over, for that matter even the 105 and 115kg guys will beat him with technique
A lot of people are all overhyped to see Brian Shaw practicing arm wrestling and now we have videos with shitty click bait titles like this one. Just when I thought Konkreet Albow was the only one doing that kind of crap. There's also lots of fans saying "Give him a year or two and he will be smashing Levan". Yeah, sure. I doubt he would even beat Devon, Vitaly or Genadi during that time.
Dont get it all confused......he is MOST definitely strong......but I know ALL too well.......that dont hardly mean shit in arm wrestling.......TECHNIQUE is the most important part and strength is HUGE. That is why I won a College tournament.....at 165lbs and I beat a college football player with 550lb bench press.
Anyone who knows anything about AW knows that Brian has no chance against Levan.... I'm not saying it will be easy, but not overly difficult for Levan either.
Shaw can’t win the WSM anymore, so he wants to get his glory back by switching to arm wrestling. Shaw doesn’t know what strong is until he messes with Levan. At almost 500 pounds, he better think again.
Strength isn't the issue, Brian is clearly bigger and stronger than Lavan. The issue will be technique. Can Brian's strength overcome Levans strength + technique? I don't know.
@@tomriddle2257 So? Brian Shaw was literally the worlds strongest man at one point. I don't think he will win though, Levan has too much skill and strength isn't everything.
@@Figment- If you have absolutely no idea how armwrestling works, don’t provide your worthless input. If raw power alone determined who’d win an armwrestling match then Larry Wheels would be dominating 95% of todays top armwrestlers. But he’s mediocre at best.
