I purchased one of these off you last year September Steven. It had major issues and when I emailed ripcord they advised they would send a new launcher arm to me. Nothing turned up and they advised they would send another. Still haven’t got one 5 months later and ripcord ignore my emails now. I had an archery shop look at it and they advised it was junk from factory. Ended up buying a hamskea primer to replace it no warranty honoured on the ripshit. Won’t buy another Bowtech, ripcord or black gold sight again. I will look to buy a product where they honour warranty. Steve this is no gripe against you guys.
Legit question but just wondering why you contacted Ripcord directly rather than going through the retailer? Surely the retailer should be handling any warranty issue on your behalf rather than having to directly deal with the manufacturer?
@@Makka316 I’m in New Zealand and purchased in Australia. Yes I could have sent to Australia but when I emailed ripcord they acknowledged they had some issues with the launcher sometimes not firing and advised me to oil it and they would send a new arm out. I purchased a new arm as the one from ripcord never turned up and I got advanced archery to set it up for me and it still didn’t fire sometimes which broke the yoke on the launcher and knocked the fletching off. Went with a hamskea and have had no issues

the thing that notices me first was the longer fork system, wich is really well thought, on the other hand with the QAD HDX (compared in this video), you get a little knife with it, don't ask why, but i use that knife for almost everything, and you get standard an extra fork with the QAD if i'm not mistaken, will try the ripcord on my upcoming bow set though, i've seen them passing by a lot lately.... Great review but you forgot some small details on the QAD.
Hamskea has the same screw in its rest to try and tension the rest against the riser so it never comes loose. I shot a Hamskea for a year without that extra allen screw and nothing ever came loose. But I own the bow and decided to try it, and I didn't notice a chip in the paint. That being said on my next bow, I will not use this grub screw because I just don't think it is necessary.
I used a Hamskea on my field bow. I quickly realised that I didn't need a drop away because I am not a hunter and replaced it with a Spott Hogg Edge Swap.
I disagree with the locking screw or double bolt situation. I have seen plenty of cable driven rests move unless they are either lock screwed or double bolted. It is a common issue. I understand your point with the paint chipping, especially now that no one is anodising but when it comes to rests actually moving this is bad advice. If I have the choice I will always double bolt over using a locking screw. The standard single bolt acts as a pivot point and pulls in the direction as to unscrew the bolt. Some rests that can be pushed completely flush with the back of the riser, meaning both the riser and rest need to be completely flat, can get away with just the one bolt.
Come hunt with me and you probably wreck the cord on your limb driven rest. There great rest but have their place and the ts not in the thick woods of the Midwest. Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin and so on.
Never use the prong assembly to fire it ALWAYS USE THE DAMN CORD. YANK IT AND LET GO. You can screw up the internals. Geez. Read the damn instructions people!
