This is probably one of the best horror sections in a wax museum I’ve seen! So many animations! You should check out some of the maritime museums/locations while you’re in the area.
I have been looking for the terminally ill man made of wood with his real eye brows ,lashes and fingernails he used to be at Ripley's at Fisherman's Wharf Thanks for including him Jacob. Has Jenn returned home?
So glad you made it to see the newly restored Ripley's and glad you came when you did, we have had so much rain and cool temps, felt like a 8 month long winter. Have you made it to the Crater Lake, Multnomah Falls (need to make a reservation), or the Enchanted Forest? All great places to visit. Have a great time here in Oregon.
I really enjoyed the tour. I got a kick out of seeing the 3 legged man. I would think that he could have played soccer. A friend of mine and I saw him In person in a sideshow at the Iowa State Fair many years ago. I think that we were about 12 years old. The 3 legged man was so nice and would take the time to talk to those who were going through. He was selling souvenir post cards with his pictures and some information on. I remember keeping it with some of my keepsakes but tried to locate it a few years ago but couldn't find it. Thanks for taking the time to go to the different attractions that you do. The only Ripley museum I ever visited was in Buena Park,California near Knotts Berry Farm. I don't believe that that location still exists. So hope for one in the Phoenix AZ area where I live, just talk but nothing being built. Be safe and have fun.
That dress made out of utensils......Lady Gaga would love that I love Robert Ripley....what an amazing life he led, though he died far too soon Sadly, I've only been to a couple of Ripley's museums, but what a blast This one looks beyond fun
At 15:36 the tiger was absolutely stunning. The Angel display was very cool. The devil fish and crucifix fish were fascinating! "Green eyes like a doll's eyes" made me laugh 😂 the Pringles art was cute and loved the Arnie and Chucky displays as they're some of my favourite films. Thanks Jacob and best wishes ☀️
The best part of my day i love to watch you and Jen she is hilarious and the perfect fit! I joined your Pateron last month excited for my 1st postcard!
If you still have time to visit Enchanted Forest, it is definitely worth your while and is great for a vlog. Just the Challenge of Mondor ride itself is a very unique and different attraction. The plays they have there are also very hilarious. The western town is full of caves and Knott's Berry Farm type vignettes.
Him reaching in to grab the jewel: You got me Me just barely keeping my phone from dropping to the ground: Got me too. Thanks for letting us chickens live vicariously thru your travels.
When I was a kid we went to Florida on vacation.....we made tons of shell ladies with pipe cleaners and glue and paint! The crucifix bone we also looked for...a nifty trick Florida had for shellers in the 60s was the elusive 'olive' shell listed at 100 dollars it was so rare - we never found one!
I grew up about 2 hours south of Newport, and my mom's best friends' family lived in Newport, and used to give us season passes to these places (as well as Undersea Gardens) every year. Been there hundreds of times, probably, but not since the 90's, so I'm looking forward to seeing the changes they've made to these awesome attractions. Also...just an fyi for travelers...my hometown (Coos Bay) is the largest town on the Oregon coast...but there's not much to see or do there. There's a casino, and the beaches are pretty nice...but that's about it. Newport is smaller, but much nicer, and has a lot more to do. Better beaches, too. And the aquarium there is amazing. When I was a kid, it was known for being the home of Keiko (the whale from the movie "Free Willy").
That black and blue dress had a lot of people going nuts when I first saw it on the news back 7 years ago. Which U.S. Ripley’s Believe It or Not attraction that you love the most Jake?
Jacob, my man, you have to get out to ride Volkanu at Lost Island this summer. No crowds at all, which is concerning for the well-being of the park, but great for now as you can ride all the rides over and over.
I miss the dark spooky atmosphere the Newport Ripley's used to have. I used to go every summer with the same friends and haven't been there since the renovation. Next time I'm on the Oregon Coast though I'll definitely stop by ✌️
It's a shame that you miss the kite festival in Lincoln City Oregon this past weekend. I hope you're having fun I thought it would be funny to come this way because of the Lincoln City highway adventure. I hope the weather holds on your end it's a little dicey sometimes. If you see this tell Jen I say hellooooooo.
Although this is the only ripleys we visit, so I may be biased, but I think the location is awesome. I love that it's in a smallish town. Feels so out of place - like what is this doing here?? 😁
If anyone comes into Portland, great place to eat is Jake's (oldest, still existing bar in Portland), the one just off of Burnside, do the afternoon Happy Hour.
Another awesome video my friend. Had a laugh when you kept calling the AT-ST a AT-AT. Some parts of the wax museum are actually original prior to the remake, which is the pirate, temple, star wars, and hero alley. Also, the mummy originally use to have his own exhibit in Ripley's.
I just had a feeling you were going to visit today in newport i hoping to meet you .. I live in Depoe Bay 20mins away But i Had to go to Portland today for the Grandkids birthday party ..Enjoy the rest of Oregon
Hi Jacob, do you think it would be possible for me to include a very short snippet of this video (with credit) in a walk-thru of the horror section I filmed recently? The headless animatronic wasn't working when I went and I feel like that's one of the better props in the attraction.
Idk if this is wierd to say but you remind me so much of my dad that passed away 9 years ago. Watching your videos feels like going on a trip with my dad(:
If it hadn't been for the mouse traps I would haven't realized that as Knoxville. Even then I wasn't 💯 sure lol. It looked more like a mixture of Rocky and Dane Cook. But, I LOVE that he has a figure somewhere!
I talked to you at a meet up in Pigeon Forge last November and you talked about revisiting this Ripley's. Good to see you made it back. It's changed a lot since I last saw it I'll have to make it back there myself. Next time your in Oregon You'll have to do the UFO festival in McMinnville. We talked about that too, you seemed interested. It would be right in your wheelhouse.
