I’m very new to card collecting!! I’ve pulled 4 hangers: 1 Elly base rookie, 1 Jasson Domínguez base rookie, Alex Verdugo purple Foilboard #/799, and Miles Mikolas gold #/2024.. nothing to retire on but exciting for a new collector! 🔥🤙🏼
Hangers are bangers.. bought 4 hangers..hit 2 hfa, a black blueprint Parallel #/299. 2 golds, 8 yellows and 2 blues and holo. . No big rookie Parallels but cant complain with the dart throws
I bought a box for $40. Pulled a numbered Corbin Carroll card to 299 and a Tatis HFA overall it was a great box. Debating about getting one from Target.
I ripped about a thousand dollars each of mega and hangers and the hangers destroyed the mega boxes for me. Regardless I have 2 more cases of each coming Monday or Tuesday do that could change from what I'm seeing here
Golden Mirror is the most interesting variation/ssp. Its a completely different card/image than a parallel that is just a border color change or a foil overlay. Like an entire different rare set.
This rookie class has the potential to be better than '22 & '23 combined in my opinion. Adley Rutschman is good, but he gives me the Matt Weiters vibe, an ex-Orioles who was also hyped up.
I know that's right. I mostly buy singles because a box of wax just isn't worth the price for it. And yea, I'd have a bunch of junk cards that I'd just stuff in a box with the rest of my commons, smh.
Better than hobby for the $ for sure. I like the exclusive parallels this year in the different retail options. This seemed as good as hangers, but just a different haul. Thanks for the rip!
You knew that Henry Davis ‘89 icy was coming your way. I’m glad I spent my $ on the fanatics blasters instead of ordering these monster boxes. They don’t suck but the fanatics blasters are the best bang for the buck IMO.
I opened a case of hobbies and I feel like these 5 outdid my entire case. The fantaics though have been the best, even for golds. I hit 5 golds in 10 fanatics boxes and alot more parallels etc.. So monster over hobbies and fanatics over everything so far.
I opened one Fanatics blaster and pulled an aqua Henry Davis RC, a blue Josh Lowe #/999, a base Elly, a Stars of MLB Elly and two HR Challenge cards of Juan Soto and J-Rod. Plus all the other aqua's and and Stars of MLB that was in there.
Love the vids man and I hope you keep em coming to give us all a good idea what boxes are best to invest in, but I’m kinda glad to see there’s not much on the stage. Gives the rest of us a better chance of a solid hit!
I got 2 hobby boxes, and I think your monster megas are much better. I like the sparkly foil cards, whatever they're called 😅. The number of parallels you got blows away my hobbies. Even with my one auto and one relic card, I prefer these.
I got one at Walmart and gonna have to go bac.fkr more. Fun rip! Luken Baker/299 Emerson Hancock Auto/50 Bo Naylor Jersey card and Trout Foil. Another veteran to 999.
1.) I'll buy your Home run challenge cards ( my dad hit 9 Ohtani's last year and I hit 4 Bobby's and 2 JRods) 2.) My big hits are always Byron Buxton and Cedric Mullins....like HFA's low numbered parallels. I swear I opened new stuff and I pull Byron, Cedric and Freddie Freeman like you do Henry Davis
I would rather open this to grab the 89 ice parallels and the hangers for the yellows. I’ve only opened a jumbo box and 9 hangers. I’ve pulled some bangers out of each. 89 Luis Robert auto out of jumbo. But like that retail has something different to collect in each format. Fanatics blasters are a great value with the aqua in each pack
I spent 250 $ on 6 hangers, 8 fat packs, and 1 blaster box ....... Pulled an Acuna Jr. Atlanta braves color match and all the rookies a few good blues and yellows too !...... edit, I also got 4 blasters of stadium club and pulled a adley instavision case hit too along with a casas and bobby Witt Jr. Chrome refactor and a blue Byrce Harper out of 50
I saw 5 other boxes opened at once and they got 2 autos, parallels at a decent pace. The Elly seems to be card #2 in every pack and the JDom is closer to the insert/ parallels, collation of base cards is dismal
Ya series 1 has been a Rollercoaster ride for me lots of fun i did hobby mega and blasters pulled Bryce Harper heavy lumber .purple miggy out of 75 and freddie freeman home sweet home red out of 10 autographed. Elly da la cruz silver rainbow foil 35th year anniversary rc.plenty of others but those are the most notable
Series 1 dart throws just aren’t as meaningful as an Update or other release with the bloated checklist and high print run in Series 1. I bought three of these from Target and got lucky. Retail blue J-Dom and 5 numbered cards, including Elly as my lone gold /2024. But the norm will be you’ll hit a numbered card or two of some random dude in each box. And lots of vets on the silver foil ‘89 inserts. It still can be a fun rip… if you understand there’ll be a lot of dead packs and that hits might yield nothing. Your five boxes with the golden mirror and two cards /25 seem way better than average. Congrats! (And please rip some more in the name of sample size.) 😁
I heard Panini got the lockdown on “Mega” for a box, but it would be nice to get Mega Stars from Mega boxes. I’ve cracked 1 so far and got a gold Mookie out of 50. I have another box in the mail, so hopefully it works out. Thanks for sharing!
My personal take is they made Series 1 more kid friendly which it should be and less influencer/flipper friendly. Tons of color but not good names that everyone wants. Other than the Soto/Ohtani SSP's I haven't really seen anybody pull an absolute monster hit of any big name guys. Have we even seen any of the big /50 or less parallels ( MD, FD, ID) of Elly or Dominguez ?
I think this product has a higher ceiling than other retail formats. I've opened a few and there are dud boxes. But the boxes that hit seem to really hit
new to collecting baseball.. i collect pokemon and dragon ball z super... but whats the purpose of home run challenge cards? and what do i lock for? i bought a super box yesterday and got a few decent cards
I think the coalation issues stem from location, I doubt that the factories mix up the boxes too much and that is why some people will get a lot of Elly's and hardly any Dominguez. In Wisconsin where I am at I have gotten tons of Elly but not as many Dominguez or Evan Carter. Not sure if you have opened any value packs but I have been getting a numbered card about 1/3 packs, they are not super low numbered or anything but there is some potential there. I'm not sure what to think of the monster boxes, numbered cards are good but you need them to be hits. I don't like how there wasn't even a mem card in 5 boxes.
Hey just was wondering if you have been looking out for the “firsts” 1/1 short prints. They are labeled 1/1 on base as the first ever print of those cards.
In Canada, the Monster boxes seen to be like $80 at Walmart. I'm debating grabbing one, but I regretted getting one of last year's series 1. It's so weird how the formats keep changing, and hobby now seems like the worst, to me, even though it's like $130 here, so not really twice as much as the Monster. I'll probably grab a couple hangers too.
Any retail format is better than hobby or jumbo. From the videos I've seen on hobby and jumbo they are a hard pass with very little numbered parallels to obtain. At least with retail they're yielding exclusive parallels with at least one numbered parallel.
I like this set and the rookies in it but like you said there is definitely a collation problem I've bought 4 hangers and twelve blasters now and only pulled 1 JD and no Evan Carter base cards for my set.
I heard there are random short prints that aren't flipped around, numbered or anything. Actual image variations supposedly are throughout the base cards 🤔
Looks like all the other formats. There's a chance or 2 for greatness but you'll probably end up feeling ripped off. Ordered 2 boxes and I'm regretting it before I've even gotten them.
