Amazing movie that took a different approach than the previous movies. Watching this movie in theaters back in 2011 was a dope experience. I remember the entire crowd going into complete silence after Caesar yelled no for the first time.

The fact that this trilogy is so underrated!!!

Not related to the movie, but there was actually a case back in 2009 in Connecticut where a woman kept a chimpanzee as a pet. She treated the chimp like it was a human child and one day she gave him Xanax, she called her close friend over to help calm down the chimp down. So when her friend went over to the house, the chimp saw her holding an Elmo toy and he began attacking her. Eating and mutilating her face to the point of complete disfiguration. There’s a 911 audio call to it and you can hear the chimp screaming in the background. The woman appeared on Oprah that same year and she looked unrecognizable, barely even had a face anymore. She got facial reconstruction surgery years after that incident but she still needs assistance from others since she’s permanently blind and has no hands. The entire story is tragic and haunting, it’s a scary realistic example of how dangerous chimpanzees truly are and why they shouldn’t be kept as exotic pets.

When Caesar said "NO!" the theater was in went dead silent, like out souls left our bodies and each and every one of us felt like the inferior species humans are destined to become. And I broke that silence with a loud "YES!!!"

The reason they didn't know Bright Eyes was pregnant with Caeser is because he was super small for a chimp baby, which Franklin mentions, there are some women that can go a full 9 months being pregnant and not even know it, and it also shows how little these companies care for the animals they test on, that they didn't even bother to check. We also don't know how long after she was captured that she entered the lab, Chimps are pregnant for 8 months, so if she came in at 7 months, then it makes more sense.

Maybe Rob should reconsider his opinion on films from the 70s. I'm German and can only say that some of the best American films were made during this time. However, you also had to use what you had on your hands. This wasn't a cinema for the cell phone generation that doesn't last longer than max. Be able to concentrate for 2 seconds.
