There's no excuse for racial abuse, and frankly that is all reform are about. The majority of the country see them very clearly for what they are. However, Sunak played his part in courting the far right by driving these very culture wars, hopefully he's starting to realise what he's, in part, responsible for.

An unelected prime minister is like inviting an extremely large and powerful MAN into your house, who you dont know from adam, and putting him in charge of everything that goes on in your house.

I'm so very sorry that you, your wife, your daughters, your parents and every other person living in the UK of sub continent heritage has had to listen to and experience this appalling racial speech. 40 years ago I lived in Bradford and was shocked by this language being spoken casually then and I am stunned to know that it is still live in British society now. I hope that real action can be taken against this man who said this, and that an example is made of him in the same way we make examples of other people behaving and doing wrong. This speech is just as heinous and corrosive to all who hear it - the society, the individuals to whom it is directed and all of us who would never think this way or speak to/about others in these terms. This is just the beginning unfortunately, I live in Birmingham and racial tension is a daily occurance. As the minority becomes more largely represented, the tension seems to increase as the majority begins to feel threatened. I absolutely want to leave Birmingham as it feels like the start of a larger civil problem. Rishi needs to remain calm and not make any emotional decisions.

I feel sorry for Rishi Sunak, he saved the country when Liz Truss became PM and within Weeks, pound dropped to its lowest and the country almost finished. It was Rishi who saved the country, the pound quickly recovered, he was doing his best to bring inflation and interest rates down. He stabilised the Country within weeks. Hope the new PM does the same.
