​@alfieingrouille1528 *Five In retrospect anyway, I can't lie and pretend I wasn't some normie fan throughout the bulk of the show until I read the books lol, multiple times, and the world books, F&B, D&E, and all through A Wiki OIAF, and just became a full fledged nerd about it.

@@CommanderLongJohn seasons 1-4 were masterpieces, seasons 5-6 had problems but also had cool moments, season 7 was endurable, season 8 was a trainwreck

@@revengance4149 Lmfao you and millions of others overusing the word "masterpiece" to the point where it just has no meaning anymore . . Apocalypse Now and The Godfather are certified masterpieces, The Sopranos/The Wire/Better Call Saul/Band Of Brothers, now *those* easily fall in the masterpiece category. But the first four seasons of GoT? Absolutely positively not, especially if you're a book reader; from the very beginning they "adapted" ASOIAF at 1/10th the scale, cutting out countless characters even ones of minor importance that would've had a single scene or two (i.e. Ser Jacelyn Bywater Commander of the Gold Cloaks, Alayaya madam of the Brothel Tyrion sneaks through to visit Shae, Steelshanks Walton who escorts Jaime back to KL, one armed Donal Noye up at the wall who was a smith for House Baratheon and made Robert his war hammer), they had zero idea what medieval battle tactics/strategy were even remotely like (even though they could've just, ya know, opened the books or called up Georgie), you got "King" Stannis/Rob/Renly with no crowns on their head (despite being very much crowned), highborn Lord's and Knight's going into battle without armor on or a helm, countless scenes/events and dialogue totally cut out even in the most unnecessary ways, pretty much after the first few episodes/season everybody speaks as if it's 2015 instead of Medieval-Europe, I could go in depth for literally an hour straight as it only becomes more and more apparent with re-watches in tandem with re-reading the books 🥴 SO much was needlessly cut out in the show, so much was needlessly changed from the books, there was never any real world building or an overarching sense of immersion like in the books (i.e. seeing how local economies work/how low born peasants live/how people trade goods/history of House's and ass loads of exposition we get in the books that never made it in the show), they quite literally just wanted to "make a show that moms and NFL players would like" (whatever the hell that means) and that's exactly what we got in retrospect.

1-4 masterpieces. 5 was good. 6 was very good. 7 was okay. 8 was terrible (last 3 episodes killed the entire season) episode 3 was a let down aswell but not the worst.

I agree GoT is still overall the best TV-series by far! The last episodes did dissapoint alot but it doesn’t take away the perfect seasons years before. Remember that George R.R Martin was shut out of the later seasons. He wasn’t satisfied with the ending seasons and especially the ending episodes. That is a man I trust, and an ending with him in charge would probably not be a super-hero ending but there is no doubt it would be much better.
