He must love double rainbow, it's in both finals bosses' themes in ror2, has a remix in returns, and a song for the upcoming dlc is basically just an updated version of it
I love listening to it on the treadmill and imagine all the enemies are slowly coming for me so I can't slow down. Doldrums Is so mystical and kind of hopeless at the same time.
I like to think the synth in Mithrix's and Providences themes are part them talking to themselves about their... situation and part their reaction to the player fighting them. Mithrix, to begin with, is amused and arrogant when they see this creature approaching them, and later on it sounds like a monologue centered around how furious he is with providence for choosing "lesser life forms" over his own brother, but is also sad because his only friend abandoned him. Some of the notes of Mithrix's theme in particular sound a bit like screams of pain. Just not the physical type of pain.
You need to check out the songs "Antarctic Oscillation" and "Koppen as Fuck" from RoR2 before you quit making these Risk of Rain videos. I am 99% sure that you will love them.
The Face Of The Deep from this OST is absolutely nuts btw, also Deadbolt is another game Chris did the OST for and it's a different but very cool vibe, Reaper (And) Blues and Defunktorum are really neat songs with a lot of cool bits and nice textures
really into the way you pick out so many interesting parts of this soundtrack. I've listened to these songs many times before, but here I am noticing new things from what you're talking about. sick as hell
If you want to react to more, the DLC also has pretty good songs. Once in a Lullaby is my favorite track on this game and Having Fallen it was Blood is the closest ost similar to Bigger Ukulele i would say. I love these two
The reference to the _Jaws_ soundtrack is subtle, but it’s there throughout very nearly the entire track. The vast majority of the chords in the song are alternating C and D♭ chords, usually but not always minor. (A♭ also shows up, both in major and minor, as does, IIRC, G minor.) Great reaction. If you haven’t reacted to Coalescence or Arctic Oscillation from the first game, Coalescence Returns from Returns, or Once in a Lullaby from the DLC yet, you owe it to yourself. (I also love Petrichor V, but it may not be very well suited to a reaction because it’s a very slow ambient piece without a lot of harmonic or melodic changes.) Also, Deadbolt is another Christodoulou OST that sometimes gets overlooked, but it’s also full of bangers. I think my favorite is Dies Irae, but it’s hard to go wrong with any of it.
I'm going to recommend the titular track from the first game, Risk of Rain, as well as it's new rendition from the remake, Risk of Rain Returns. Go back to where it began, and see where it's going.
Please listen to the song "Risk of Rain 2", it's probably my favorite piece of music from Chris Christodoulou. Some other good ones are Antarctic Oscillation, Terra Pluviam, Once in a Lullaby, and Coalescence.
