So Sad I loved her , my favourite Star of all time, still keep watching clips of her and movies. Rita was very beautiful, loved her Dancing with Fred Astaire. Another Favourite of mine, hope they Both will never be Forgotten.
Alzheimer's killed this beautiful lady at 68 Rita left us too soon I hope one day we find a cure my grandfather had it and it was heartbreaking to see the stages of Alzeimers broke my heart RIP Rita Hayworth xxx
Hayworth aged like a fine wine. Whenever I see these types of interviews, I cannot imagine landing after an international flight to be badgered and hounded - I mean, interviewed and celebrated by press. I’m surprised there aren’t more telephone throwing, camera breaking movie stars out there. There’s not enough money in the world to make me an effective celebrity. No thank you!
This is 11 years before she died from Alzeimers people would never know how this disease robs people and destroys families my grandfather had it and also his sister did as well I hope they find a cure someday RIP Rita Haworth x
Wow, so beautiful, and such graceful, lovely energy. God bless her. Poor Rita never got over her father's vile sexual abuse of her as a child. She endured five unhappy, failed marriages, and never found the soul mate and great father for her children she sought. Daddy had blighted that side of life for her. Thankfully when her Alzheimers set in by the early 1980s a judge ruled her youngest daughter Yasmin take care of her. Rita lived in an adjourning apartment to her daughter till the end of her days. Yasmin had the following inscribed on her mother's memorial stone: 'To yesterday's companionship and tomorrow's reunion'.
This gentle, talented soul was mistreated, exploited and abused her whole life. Thank God her daughter Yasmin Aga Khan cared for and championed Alzheimer's and Related disorders Associations at the end of Rita's life to ease her suffering but also to raise awareness internationally.
