This is a story I wrote about Ritchie Blackmore's visit to Jimmy Page at the Boleskine House. My good old friend Shawn Staples from California helped me to narrate this story. I wrote this review using known facts. My stories and reviews represent a great value for guitar players, musicians and rock fans. I do my best to create original and interesting content. Hope you enjoy it guys!

@@messi8921 agreed 👍 lol. Live Blackmore was a monster. Page looked to me like he was struggling either by to many layers of guitars he used in studio. Or trying how to pull it off live. Or just to high. Ritchie looked like was and is in full command of the stage song the lead band live. Never a struggling looked so easy for him. Ritchie Blackmore is not human lol he's a different kettle of fish. That's for sure. Toni Iommi looked in great form also back then just stood there like a statue and played perfectly. I dint know why Jimmy as great as he is looked like he is struggling live. He looked like it was a problem for him ? Strange one of the greatest in the world also. Rock on 🤘

@messi8921 2 года назад
@@barryrammer7906 Don’t get me wrong Page was still a monster and Led zeppelin are my favourite band! Page had Bonham and Jones to make music with whereas Blackmore had Paice and Glover. Both good but nowhere near LZ standards! Blackmores music grew when he teamed with Dio and Powell. What I would say is Page peaked in the early to mid 70s and didn’t ever reach those levels again. Heroin took its toll and the late 70s were a disaster. He came close in the mid to late 90s and by the time the Celebration day concert came he was well past it. Drugs ruined Page! Blackmore on the other hand managed to keep his peak from early 70s all the way through till the late 90s. Amazing player!
@barryrammer7906
@barryrammer7906 2 года назад
@@messi8921 agreed I'm a huge Zeppelin fan also Purple and Sabbath. Seen all 3 in there big days. I love them all. Just our impression is that live Ritchie Blackmore could and did blow the doors of Pagie. Page was just to f up on drugs is right. Jimmy put a lot of layers of guitars in his studio work. Which is world class to me also. Ritchie Blackmore studio work was basically a rhythm track and a lead. Same with Tony Iommi. So they were never very concerned about how it sounded as much live. Ritchie Blackmore never played the same lead twice on purpose that's what makes him greatest live guitarist. He only played highway star lead the same nothing could be better. Ritchie pushed it live and was so brilliant at it confident it looked easy and it was for him. Tony Iommi always played the song exactly like the studio and was less worried about the sound to. He knew it be spot on. He stood there like a statue because he was concentrating 100%. Plus not having finger tips and he glued on pieces of a leather jacket to his fingertips and did not want them to fall off. So there you go one guy Ritchie that had balls as big as the world. The king wizard live and knew how good he was. Then Jimmy on dope and had layers and layers of guitars to pull off live bad news. Iommi no fingertips kept it simple very confident he could pull it off live he did. Don't make Pagie less as good he was just not live. Both are so good its criminal but Blackmore live rules the stage. Jimmy more problems he brought on himself thru studio recordings layers of guitars weird tunings he was an expert at and dope killed him live. Iommi gets the nod live to he kept it simple stuck to the song and he was in the zone of serious concentration live. All 3 great in there own way peace rock on 🤘

If you really want to be quality content of great value for anyone, you should know what you're talking about. Alistair Crowley was known as a famous psychic, designing his own Tarot deck, but mainly being a floating heroin and sex party for the royal and rich. Is that the tradition you want to be as a guitar player? I don't. And that was good for me, now seventy and still getting paid to play guitar and sing, and still getting better. When Deep Purple first played in Canada, it was a one-nighter in Montreal, paying for the trip over here. They rented a space in a Toronto mall to rehearse, playing a six-nighter in Buffalo for American agents. When they were being interviewed by a local radio host, he said why don't you open up your rehearsal so Toronto people could see you? My friends and I were standing outside a local bar on a Saturday afternoon, with our guitars and a transistor radio, waiting for a Saturday matinee. We heard the radio announcer and our friend with the car wasn't working that day so we took off. This is when Deep Purple in Rock was out. $5, in the middle, twenty feet away from the 6" stage. Theatrics, costumes, a show that faded very soon. When Led Zep played their first gig in Toronto, a six-nighter, Jimmy Page got locals more angry than other band members. He would stand facing the wall at the back of the stage so you couldn't see his intros or solos, or he would sit and let his long hair hide his hands on his guitar. That's because they got too much blow-back about their drugs and sexual behavior. This is Canada, not England or the United States. The Who found the same anger. Pete Townsend went around Toronto buying every Les Paul and S.G. he could find, smashing 145 guitars onstage in one afternoon. Don't be shy. I can only relate worse events. Except for seeing Jimi Hendrix at Maple Leaf Gardens, never seeing another description of his sound set-up. I better stop typing. Don't be shy! It's only font, and I'm only fully fontal.

@@karsguitarchannel6088 It sounds like a lot of dark satanic role playing to me to hypnotize society. Zeppelin and Purple used to be some of my favorites. Once you read the literature, I can clearly see what the music was all about and it's purpose. Now personally I still listen to the music from time to time, but I don't live it or give into what the music was leading towards.
