Most important thing to know with Asuka is: Your Mana isn't supposed to support ur other resources. Your resources(HP, Gauge) are meant to support ur Mana.
@@_Jay_Maker_ Because starting with the proper word makes more sense. U would never start a sentence like this. You might go like this if u were feeling like it though.
@@snowys4168 you might think so, but u have to consider that its kind of jarring to see two different spellings for the same word in the same sentence. if ur going to abbreviate it, you might as well use the same "u" within your sentence /s
Any time you beat another Asuka in the mirror you are obligated to look them in the eye and tell them "You're a third rate duelist with a fourth rate deck"
20:07 I'm right there with you. Constantly just glide from Punch to Slash when going down the deck slots. Like I get why Kick is the second slot but my muscle memory is super screwed on that.
Yeah also in other type of notation that Tekken and MK use Slash (Y or triangle) is called 2, so it goes P>1, S>2, K>3 and HS>4, so having 1 2 3 as P K S is very confusing.
Everyone mixing up kick with slash when playing this character has got to be one of the most confusing cases of mass confusion I've ever been a part of
Ive renamed PKSH to 1234 in my head to correspond with card slots, and I run through drilling in training mode where I go through specific orders of card casting while saying the number out load before ANY Asuka play of the day ....and still once I'm in a real match, I'm constantly throwing away the K Card instead of reloading the S Card, then empty-casting a spell and dying.
Asuka seems to have some crazy stuff even outside of spells. I personally want to test how good he’ll be without them because 0.75 defense and his crazy buttons are dangerous on their own.
@@juliustaylor9920No it's 0.75 when it's good and 1.5 when he's out of mana. Defense is a multiplier on the damage, so lower is better. For context Pot has 0.94 and Chipp has 1.27 so Asuka has both extremes.
Favorite asuka technique is switching to deck 3 and then using the card draw super to fish for mana regen + the auto redraw spell. Then you just spam spells for a bit.
I find that the button I end up using against characters like sol to be a lot of 5P. It beats a lot of roundstarts and is generally a good option for when they're getting in your face. Unfortunately, you can't confirm off of it with your normals very well, but it can be confirmed into some spells.
I feel like the auto-import is up there as one of the best spells asuka has. being able to regen mana after every spell instead of having to manually bookmark does a lot for keeping his mana topped off as well as letting you spam spells if you have the mana regen/spell cost reduction buffs.
Sajam u gotta b a savant when it comes to fg's cause ur intuition is spot on and u pick it up wit ease I commend u for what its worth... I watch cause of ur natural talent 👏👏👏👏
Also i think the biggest difference between asuka and other resource characters is that neither of his resources come back over time Mana only regens once you've run out and you've got to manually draw cards. The manually drawing cards is just like HC bullets but his mana regen takes HC's concentration one step too far You lose it for doing spells, getting hit, blocking, and drawing spells (less impactful) With prepatch HC it was mainly concentration you had to care about and post concentration distance nerfs? it was bullets. But asuka actually has to manage both while also not recharging passively.
One thing I will say from what I've observed is that even though the mama bubble only applies to his defense it's still kind of weird to me that he still takes guard crush and chip damage when blocking Not a very impressive bubble when you get right down to it but that's just me
One day sajam will finally switch to FD macro on wakeup and join the rest of us zoomers in not getting CH on wakeup Seriously.... it will save you so many rounds
Asuka is hard to watch in the background while working. Any time he regens mana he cocks his brain gun and makes a sound with it that cuts straight through my skull
I had the same problem with his neutral. Bad buttons, risky zoning, just never knowing what to hit. 2D is good but I feel like it’s main use is catching people walking backwards. I’ll just let someone else figure him out then come back.
asuka's 2d is just fine and has a pretty solid disjoint-- issue is if you look at every time you used 2d its either that you used it literally right next to your opponent hitting a faster button or used it against an equally ranged opponent who challenged and then you wondered why it got stuffed. it has 12 frames of startup-- it being disjoint doesn't mean it's fast, you should be treating it like a solid mid range low and looking at WHY it's getting hit. "It's fine" also DOESN'T mean you can just spam it everywhere of course, but it is not a bad button in moderation by any means.
I think people will start using Asuka without any spells at all, just relying on his good buttons and then slowly over time incorporate the spell usage one by one.
There are 2 versions of the character, with different voice lines and intros. The default version is Asuka R. Number Sign. Pressing up when selecting his colors gives you Asuka R. Kreutz AKA That Man.
