Kragg is the latest character revealed for the Rivals 2 launch roster in 2024! See the legend of Kragg along with brand new gameplay in this character reveal trailer. Learn more about Rivals 2 at rivals2.com
This is why I love rivals, instead of just putting in normal grabs and get up attacks, they put in some really unique ones like that get up attack onto to stage.
@@Marthyboy88 It's my duty to put the community up on phenomenal games, and this game will be no exception. It's gonna be so good! See you in the Dojo! [+]
I had absolutely zero doubt that they would bring my boy Kragg back, and yet I'm so, so happy to see him. He looks so great, I cannot wait for 2024 to cook up some pillar-gimmicks again.
Legit loving the new art style of the game looks amazing. Unlike multiverses I’m actually glad the devs are taking a year to polish and finish the game rather then just releasing unfinished
GRAAAHHHH MY NAME IS MARKIPLIER AND I WANT TO SAY: STOP BRINGING UP OTHER PLATFORM FIGHTERS WHEN A NEW PLATFORM FIGHTER SHOWS UP JUST SO YOU CAN SHIT ON THEM!!!
@@2sonicdx facts bruh. After playing it again it’s just wasted potential. Like almost every match I get into now is super sweaty, hitboxes still broken, matchmaking terrible, and let’s not forget how unbalanced a majority of the roaster is along with barely having anything at launch.
Early Access would even be better. But they could just brand Early Access as a Beta cuz cosoles don't like the term Early Access just incase consoles are day in date with PC.
Everybody's talking about Kragg, but I just wanna bring attention to Rock Wall's cool new background and how you can actually see the two sides of the wall. They also gave Rock Wall a higher ceiling, which officially makes this a good game.
The ability to bring the pixelart to life is genuinely inspring. Usually when a 2d artstyle shifts to 3d models ut tends to not look as good yet you guys really captured all the nuance it is beautiful.
MY BOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYYYY I’m so thrilled he’s back! He looks amazing!! Looks even more fun to play than in Rivals 1. And this theme is incredible! Looking forward to listening to this on repeat someday…why must 2024 be so far away?!?
I like how they offset Kragg's bigger size compared to the others by giving him a few more tools, like the getup attack that summons his rock or being able to grab opponents in midair. Very cool!
So much going on here: Kragg has a version of tough guy 0:48 (I dont remember if that was already a thing, but it didn't seem like he was crouching), chain grabs plus what could be a suicide grab unless you mash 0:55 , instant side b cancel for momentum and a little hop 1:00 , air rock toss throws opponents now 1:04 (can he throw only down? seems like one animation), get up special 1:12 (watch invincibility, it's laggy as all get out if he guesses wrong), excellent shield break or damage setup 1:15 (block hits, down b hits, and then block shards all hit sequentially, only not true part was probably down smash). Including the fact Kragg is huge now, he is so cool as a big heavy, and it seems like Dan gave him some new tools to compensate for that.
I love everything about this trailer, but the music ESPECIALLY sells it! Hearing Kragg's theme build up more and more throughout the intro just for a full blown remix to blast during the gameplay is the best way to hype up the funny rock beetle.
Looking so sick. I know Dan and devs have commented on Smash's camera before. You guys look like you nailed the camera in this game, something that's been kind of difficult for other platform fighters. That plus the artstyle is the next level polish you need - looking insane!
I really hope we still get to have the option to adjust the camera to always keep platforms visible. It seems like a nitpick but it's one of the biggest reasons I like Rivals 1 to begin with. The thing I hate most about 3D camera is the fact that platforms or the stage can at times literally be off the screen entirely, or that the camera moves too erratically.
As a smash ultimate fan who follows the competitive scene and loves playing the game, I’m entirely sold on this and absolutely can’t wait. Looks beyond amazing.
This looks amazing, you can tell how much love and work went into making these characters. I totally understand if it doesn't happen at launch, but man I would love to see all of the post release characters eventually make their debut. Just the thought of playing as Ori or shovel knight in this game gets me excited.
I worried the same but still do tbh. The art style is nice but the game speed feels overall slower. Not to mention adding grabs and shields into the mix, I feel is going to hurt it more. That shield break animation for example, was painfully slow
Rivals of aether characters can put up more of a combo, mix-up fight than Smash Bros! And I LOVE IT! Rival of Aethers 2 (Xbox Smash Bros Maybe) here we go!!!
✨SENSATIONAL✨! One of the best trailers Aether studios👌💯. The music is phenomenal, love the extra effort put into the moves💥. Be safe and well everyone😌💚.Big boy Krug, coming through!🤩
I’m really mixed on the visuals. The stages and backgrounds look great and I really like the 2d vfx. It gives it a Riot/Arcane look. The character models I’m not as big on. I think the texturing on Kragg isn’t great and some of the 3d assets look kind of off. Still looks great, especially for a small indie team.
@@frothyslider253 i wish by boy kraggs face's snoot popped out a little more so its easier to boop. Biggest model gripe for me ( i am not taking the piss out of your complaint, 100% agree, though in the end of the day i prefer this over pixel art since it was like 16 by 16 pixels sometimes for some characters, the resolution was SO SMALL )
I love the art style! I think this might be the first cell shaded platform fighter! It's a nice way to keep the visuals similar to the sprites as well as progressing it
This game has great scaling like the characters look good and clear on the screen For low hits medium hits and high hits like they actually mean something. I just hope they don’t go over board with the hit box sizes and make everything brain dead big. the game looks really promising. Great work!
holding out hope all my initial impressions are wrong, but man am i worried about this game. Grabs, shields, 3D, down animations, everything being added here just makes rivals edge closer and closer to being any other generic smash rip-off. The limitations of the first led to some of the most unique and lovable gameplay of any platform fighter to date BECAUSE of how different from smash it was. This just seems like a mechanical downgrade for the sake of homogeneity, and nothing I've seen from footage so far has justified it. I know it'll be an above-average smash clone either way, the studio is competent. Just wish it could be more than that
I love that there's shielding and grabbing in this series now. Made it to Diamond with Olympia and really despised the reliance on movement and perfectly timed parries as the only defenses. I suspect a lot of depth will be added with shielding and grabbing and I'm here for that. Art's really good too. Looking forward to the release.
