Another great set up and also would be a great for African cichlids to. I love the concept of having tanks fore endanger or threaten species. I know there is some livebearers that that are extinct in the wild and only survive due to the pet trade. I don't have the names on hand because the books are with my parent's.
@sunny.xoxoxo

This was awesome! The thumbnail immediately captured my attention and the scape was honestly exceptional. It's really respectable that you're providing safe and comfortable homes for this threatened species and hopefully even more in the future! Would you ever consider endangered wild bettas or axolotls? Both are popular and might be a good kickstart!

I absolutely think that starting to breed endangered animals, ready to help restock the wild when the time comes, is an amazing goal for any captive breeder.

You have to keep accurate breeding records to avoid genetic drift and loss of genetic diversity. The AZA does this in species survival plans SSP

@tjmarx

Breeding threatened or endangered animals isn't a thing to get into lightly, it's not something for an untrained novice nor is it a hobby. Frankly the mere idea of doing it as part of a hobby is terrifying. It's the kind of suggestion that puts even more pressure on a species. Tanner's willful disregard of conservation by randomly taking materials from the natural environment says everything. If you want to get involved in a conservation or breeding program, get in touch with an established program out of a university and see if they're looking for volunteer helpers. This isn't something to do at home.
@RustyShackleforddd
@RustyShackleforddd 2 года назад
@@tjmarx the reintroduction of the tequila split fin only happened because of home conservationists. To say it only should be done thru a university is wrong. Are you aware of the Goodeid Working Group, C.A.R.E.S or the ALA, or any other aquarium clubs? All these organizations encourage keeping endangered species in the home aquarium. There are many fish species that only exist in captivity because of home aquarists.

God bless you and God bless anyone reading this! Hope you have an awesome day! Seek him while you can! Jesus is the way and the only way and he is returning soon! Whenever you think you aren't loved... Remember the ultimate sacrifice was for love! ENDING YOUR LIFE IS NEVER THE ANSWER! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV The wages of sin is death (hell) but Jesus paid our debt on the cross, for our salvation! We must turn to God and away from our sinful ways, Confess Jesus is Lord and believe with our hearts that he was risen from the dead by God, and we must be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit and live by His word and Commandments! Trust that God will help with the rest! Seek God today before it's too late! Today could be your last day on earth! Have a blessed day! ❤️❤️❗️❗️

I love how realistic you make these scapes feel. It's truly as if you scoop a piece of nature into a tank and store it for safe keeping. I think it would be amazing to see you start doing some active conservation work as well. I think it could be an inspiration to others in the hobby and raise even more awareness to the plight of the wildlife that many of us have never even heard of that is fading out of existence everyday. I've never even heard of this species of fish, but I've already fallen in love with them. They are beautiful and they look great in the scape you've created for them. I can hardly wait to see what you come up with next!

Nature conservation at home idea is so awesome. Thats like the evolution of "genetic pool" concept ( if not familiar termin, google it, thats pretty interesting - saving animals at least at the zoos, so that in the future there was a way to introduce them back to nature) and it would be so cool if more people would create nature conservation hot spots right at their homes (; I'm in!
