The mixed conditions over this winter continue - A window of opportunity was presented to me to get on the River Severn at Shrewsbury for just under 3 hours to find a February Barbel with the river rising rapidly after torrential rain the day before.
Often scaling up on bait size/presentation can be a great approach on a river that is coloured and with a level that is rising quickly. Join me to see how I approach this session, switching to a bigger hookbait than I'd typically use to get a result out of a short notice/quick session on the Severn.
The equipment I used during this session is as follows -
Korum Barbel Rods 1.75lb TC
Shimano ST4000 Baitrunners
12lb Korum Barbel line
10lb Flourocarbon Hooklength
2oz gripper leads
Terminal Tackle - Korum Camo Bolt/Run Kit
Hook - Size 8 Korum Grappler
Hookbaits - 2 x Vortex Baits CKO 14mm Boosted Pellets, with PVA mesh bags of 6mm CKO loose pellets.
If you wish to get in touch with me - You can message me via my Facebook Page (Rob's Angling). I'll respond back as soon as I can to you.
Thanks for watching
