Shore lunch is the best. Nothing like eating outdoors by the river. Looks like you came prepared. Parmesan cheese, never had it with fish but it turned out really good.
Milk, butta, peppa and fish...yup. those stoves are nice - bought an MSR wisperlight about 40 years ago for backpack camping - it still works - about the only thing I had to do over the years beyond cleaning the jet is use some vaseline on the leather cup in the pump housing. So simple, light and well made. Used it heavy back in the day too. But I am waitin on seeing you and your brother pull pike thru the ice. Still trout fishin down in Mass and NH now on the rivers where they are winter stocked - waitin on ice too.
Im amazed at the quality of MSR stoves, more amazed how reasonably priced they are. As for ice, I may make it on some ice tomorrow. Been a late freeze here. If not tomorrow, definitely this weekend. Were probably 2 weeks out from pike fishing!!
Thanks. I got word we have a small local lake with good ice. May hit it tomorrow afternoon if I get out of work early. If not, this weekend will be first ice for me!!
You can use a 10” pan. I have several times. Just use my camp kit because it’s light and portable. I love the summer function on the stove. Overall it’s a great unit. I’ve cooked with it 6-7 times since this video and am still at 1/2 bottle of fuel.
You can apply a thin layer of tallow to your pan and oven bake it for an hour at 180degC. Do this twice for a mad non stick coating, helps a lot come cleanup time.
This will burn white gas (Coleman fuel), kerosene, unleaded auto fuel, diesel, and jet fuel. Thats why I went this route, it will work with just about every type of liquid gas, and won't freeze up like propane in the cold.
