Hey readers!
Here is my review (with minor spoilers!) of River Sing Me Home by Eleanor Shearer.
Some major themes were:
• slavery
• post-emancipation challenges
• loss of loved ones
• discovery and re-discovery of self
• love & sacrifice
and there's so much more!
Overall, I enjoyed this book: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The story draws you in from the very first page and you cannot help but feel sorry for AND wholeheartedly root for the main character, Rachel. The author touches on tough topics so thoroughly and effortlessly. Everyone needs to read this book!
