Boney M was soooo popular in Sweden during 1975-1980 (about) The man behind Boney M is a german songwriter/producer named Frank Farian, he would later create the group Milli Vanilli. Of the 4 members only 2 did infact sing and the other 2 did miming (Frank F..did the male voice on the recordings of Boney M)

Hi Thomas, yes they were absolutely huge back in the 70s and early 80s weren't they. They are just such an upbeat fun group 🤩

It was originally released in 1970 by the Melodians it was also covered by Linda Ronstadt in 1976

@@playitagainsue Boney M. based it too much on The Melodiens version. They had to add two members of that group for the song too...not FULL tradditional song anymore...

Good reaction you ladies. U traveled way back and felt the old vibes and I did it with you too when some young girl took my hands and pulled to dance this song and the other and others ones. 45 years ago and I still remember that moment Thank you ❤❤❤❤

@@playitagainsue Girls those times never never coming back. Aaahhh the memories, I still remember the name of that girl. We were at some party and I was listening the music 🎶 and the music was changing from Boney M to Bee Gees and all the young people went crazy and suddenly she pulled me in and……… my foots were frozen 🥶 and I started to sweat a lot. But I never could change those times when everything was in the air. When you can experience the first kisses 😘 in your early youth. The 70’s and 80’s were the purest decades. Not anymore. 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃 Good reaction 🌹🌹🌹💋💋💋 Keep it up, we need people like you every day

@@playitagainsue looks like you’re living the same nostalgia, like many others in YT. Every day the wishes for going back to those years is stronger than ever, I don’t know u. But when I’ve been watching my sons living in a plain mode……. I don’t know. I’m feeling too much sadness for them. It’s like the life is passing to fast through them and they didn’t catching or appreciating those beautiful young years.Party times with your friends was every weekend. Everyone was planting the seed of love ❤️, you could see in the music videos, movies Before were some many places that you could go and I don’t talking about money, everything was……. NORMAL 😘😘

Boney M had a whole bunch of very catchy songs, and nearly all of them made you wanna move and groove ! .. Love the clear, pure vocals of the lead female singer, Liz Mitchell .. And BTW, Sue No.2 was referring to a dance called "The Slosh" ( not The Slush ) .. It was a popular line dance from Britain that had lots of funny actions in it. ( I've done it !😅) .. There's videos on YT showing it.

A great song. A big seller in the UK. When the single started to slide down the chart, the record company flipped it for the other side, Brown Girl In The Ring. The record then climbed the chart again & reached number 2.

I was a teenager when this came out and I couldn't dance in the disco to this, because I knew the psalm from the Bible and it felt kinda heretic to shake the booty while hearing the words... 😂😂😂
