When I first heard the song, I felt the same about the chorus. Slowly, it grew on me because I just love hearing Lisa’s vocals … especially since people assume she can’t sing (which she does on >90% of BLΛƆKPIИK’s bangers. After watching this performance video, I love all of it. I still prefer “Lalisa” because it puts her talent upfront … but “Money” is also 100% Lisa. When I first heard Money I was like "meh", but I realized later that I wasn't reacting to the song I was reacting to my expectations. Money is unlike anything she or BP has done and as soon as I put aside what I thought I'd hear I discovered how great the song truly was. It's clear from how it's been charting around the world that while some think it's missing "something", whatever that something is, the vast majority of listeners aren't missing anything hence the endless firsts/records Money is achieving.
I’m a huge Lisa fan and the first time I heard it, I felt like it was missing something as well. After listening more, its become one of my favorite songs.
Lol, ya'll will be happy to know that the backup dancer you liked has an identical twin that you'll see dancing on the other side of Lisa but with black hair. They've been dancers at YG for a LONG time now and have worked with each of the BP girls during their solos. You will also see them as the shirtless men in CL's live performance of MTBD.
I personally think that solo songs from the queens of BP are meant to serve but you need to actually get used to them doing their own sound and when you watch it at first most really comes with a lack luster vibe but when you play it a few times you would go like “Ey! Ey!Ey!”
idk why almost everyone saying that "money" has missing something just because they hear some other opinions about it. The song itself is different from Blackpink and Lalisa, it is also a hiphop based which main focus is to brag about something and hype the audience with banger/bars that's why lyrically, it doesn't have deep meaning like y'all guys looking. it is about the feels. this is one of the song that you will want to listen you want to get hyped or bragged about. not all song need to have deep meaning, lyrical wise or powerful dance or high notes vocal. there's a genre for a reason. and this song is hiphop, and we all know classic hiphop where they bragged or make something to make them look cool and be savage at the same time. that's what Money has to be. many bp or kpop fans are not used to this stuff and only YG can do this. they mixed the typical YG style and Western hiphop sound to make this kind of song that's why we hearing something "familiar" at the end because that's YG signature not just "blackpink" all yg groups has that signature at the end of the song. the song is just perfect has its own. there's nothing to change or add. it just that it's not your cup of tea or you just not used to the new sounding of a kpop song/ bp's lisa song. but when you listem it for multiple times you will realize how perfect the song was. and you will analayze the reason behind why this song gets so much recognition. its not just because it focused on western but because it catchy and new to the audience.
they are allowed to have different opinion from you and its okay if they do. if you like it then good for you to others its not as perfect as you portray it to be. its totally fine.

Also the arrangement of the song is so messed up there's a lot going on😭💀. Jennie's solo was still the best for me, from the arrangement, lyrics, and vocals is just perfect.

I’m a Lisa fan but as an American I can’t get used to kpop music that lacks cohesivenesses to me it sounds bipolar. BUT, Even though both songs are lacking I still spent over $100 on her album just to support her debut as a solo, I think she’s very talented, I hope she finds other producers that can cultivate her talents.

i agree with khadija how it was missing something, same as all the other solo songs from them. for me at least, i realized its because i'm not a fan of their producer always doing the same horns and brassy sounds everywhere. i hope they experiment more with other song writers and producers
I agree with everyone. I feel like they should have layered her vocals and added some lower, warmer harmonies on the “dolla bills” part to give the vocals more cushion and to soften and fill out the sound. It was a little too steely for my taste, but I am here for the chorus! Maybe a few more ad libs in during the verse as well, would have hit. (Not me trying to be a sound engineer) The dance practice video also helped me appreciate the choreography more because I was able to see the movements from her and YGX dancers in their entirety. Also her little booty twerk in the first chorus had me like 🤭😳 lmaooo There’s a producer on RU-vid named Gustav Mixes who made a cool 1 minute snippet of the song and added the all of the elements I mentioned. It’s called “money but the beat drop is in the chorus”. I just think it’s cool hearing other producers get inspired and make cool mixes.

it was just the "DOLLA BIIILLLLLSSSSS" that I couldn't get into at first. it was like a bit too whiny in my ears at the first listening 💀 and hearing the demo version for that part of the song would've been much better. it took a few listens for me to get into the song but i like it more now. the end of the song is definitely where the hype comes in for me.
Monroe's man is one of the Kwon twins. If you watch again the other dancer next to him the other side of lisa is his twin. If you have Kwon's in your video you are a VIP YG talent.
