This happened down the street from me and I just can’t even begin to explain the situation that unfolded. So incredibly heartbreaking. I witnessed a bystander gift two officers a folded American flag and they both looked at each other and broke down in tears. Sending his family so much love during this time. Also, to everyone out there… please hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. Xx

I get he killed a Deputy, but is it really in the best interest of the Tax Payers to send 44 fucking units to follow this guy in a non-high speed chase? I get all the cops wanted to kill him, but Jesus, that is absurd!

Never have I seen so much sympathy for the death of a victim the cops kill. Not sure if any cop deserves to rest in peace when they deny peace to families by covering for bad cops. According to the Golden rule they deserve about as much sympathy as they give the innocent unarmed victims they shoot then handcuff and let bleed to death. I can't even remember single time a human expression of concern was on a cops face after they kill. As a black American I think all the time that I hope I'm never in a situation where the cop is trying to make up reasons to kill or hurt me and I have to decide to let them abuse me like I'm a slave or stand my ground and possibly die. These are the thoughts that should be going through civilians heads during war time but these are how black citizens feel because it's war and we aren't the ones declaring it they are and they openly put it in their manifestos

Ok so I'm not here to celebrate the death of the deputy or cause pain to his grieving colleagues and family... but can we be honest and acknowledge the urgency and dedication of the department... and also the availability of police officers, investigators, and resources that suddenly increases when a cop gets shot vs how the cops treat regular old working-class people? Seeing that entire pack of emergency vehicles chasing the alleged cop-killer and contrasting it to the response to any other crime... almost seems like a retaliatory operation by a clique/gang rather than a reasoned and appropriately proportional allocation of police resources.

I'd like to hear the whole story!

Thank you to all law enforcement you are brave and respected by so many. Ever since I was a child and I seen law enforcement I would think wow what amazing people growing up I ran in to law enforcement at a restaurant and felt so proud holding the door open for them and the time I seen a police officer by himself pushing a vehicle across the street to help the person get gas I quickly ran over and asked if I could help which he gladly accepted and shook my hand I felt so proud and the time I was pulled over for having a tail light out and exchanged a respectful conversation and was advised to just get it replaced as soon as possible with no problem and a have a good night sir. We have it so good in this state and country so many good people it really hurts me to hear stories like this. God be with you all.

Definitely tragic and the man needed to be stopped but the amount of police chasing him seems excessive. I would think having that many cops responding would get in the way at some point. Glad they got the guy in the end though.

This is an atrocity when judges don’t do their jobs, yet expect law enforcement to do theirs, even at the risk of their very lives! This judge not only released this three time violent criminal on bond, but even lessened his sentencing! This is poor judgement, imbalanced justice, and a grave endangering to the community when judges go soft on violent repeat offenders! This was preventable had the justice system not failed in its responsibility!
