This is so detailed, thank you for sharing! Quick question, do your guests need to have a microphone and headset as well or will mic computer work just fine? I'm sure it can work but I'm curious about the noise cancelation without a headset/microphone.

quick question about editing! I want to edit my podcast in riverside but i can’t figure out a way zoom into the purple editing bar so i can create more detailed /precise cuts! Any help would be appreciated

I've created my studio using the advance video option for 1080p, to do test records. My producer recording recorded at 1080p, the guest recording recorded at 720p. I can not fine the setting to adjust the guest recording to 1080p. Can you point my in the right direction.

I'm looking at Riverside for simple educational video recordings and screen sharing. I don't plan on doing podcasts initially, but I love the local recording and screen-sharing features. Is this still an appropriate platform if podcasts aren't my primary focus? Thank you.

Tried using riverside to record a audio commentary and it worked perfectly but when I listened back, only my commentary was there. Anywhere the audio file was playing there is complete silence. Any idea why this would be?

I feel like its so much tougher to attempt to simply record an episode, add background music and upload to all platforms how it was before it updated to Riverside, is there any tutorial or guidance on how to simply record and edit with background music + background noise cancellation? Maybe I am overthinking this, but if I am recording audio for hosts and one remote participant to a separate audio recorder I control, what is the best way to record guest audio to both the riverside recording and the P8? On our Zoom P8 recorder, I have been connecting guest audio to the P8 recorder by using a Bluetooth connector and a phone. (We’ve only done one video podcast so far, using Zoom but the video quality is just horrible.)

My question: If my camera records at 4K 30 fps but my Riverside account has a max of 1080p at 24 fps, will that be an issue since the settings don't align?

Depending on which part of the video, there are clips recorded on my camera, other parts are recorded with Riverside and the views of my computer screen were recorded with QuickTime.

Still cant hear myself while I am recording. I can hear myself after the recording is done, but while I'm actively recording I cant hear anything. I have my headset selected for the output device , my mic is selected for the mic, but nothing at all is coming through the headset. If I open another browser, I can hear other videos for youtube or what have you perfectly. Any thoughts?

Good question! It's only going to record using the max resolution of the other person's camera. Laura, my colleague, has a MacBook Air with a 720p camera so it's not possible to record in higher resolution. If they have a higher resolution camera and it says 720p, it could be that you haven't turned on Advanced Quality in Participant Video Recording Settings.

Hi Norah, good question! Which camera do you have? Some cameras can be connected via USB and will work just fine, otherwise you'll need a capture card like this one from El Gato geni.us/ekxz .
