Gah! I wish someone would write something like that for me. This seriously brought a tear to my eye. It was beautifully sculpted and you could just feel the love in his voice.
Wow. This is one of the only "love" poems that is so personal and genuine, but there isn't one line you can roll your eyes at. Also, everyone tends to be able to relate to love poems... this one, is very obviously just he and her. You don't relate to it directly, because you can't, even if you do have a wonderful relationship, as much as it just puts you in a place of wishing that you could. Rives' delivery always gives me a visceral reaction. I sincerely love his poetry.
Agreed. I also love when he says " I wish id been your bathroom mirror the day they took of your braces". Anybody who has ever had braces knows how much you smile an look at the mirror on that day.
