Sadly the Rivian loses both by a fraction for 2 reasons: 1. The Rivian driver has terrible reaction time on both pulls. 2. The Rivian is speed restricted to 110mph, thus any car has the 2nd 1/8 of a mile to pull past.
Yeah, after watching again I see why I made that determination: the times usually pop up first for the car that crosses first. In both races, the times popped up for the non-Rivian, so I assumed a marginal loss. Looks like instead it was a very marginal victory. The gap would have been improved if the Rivian driver had improved reaction time and if Rivian removed the limiter.
Despite revian driver slow reaction, won the races, it shows how better eletric cars already is despite the short time in the market, petrol cars is more than 100 years in the market eletric cars is less than 20 years in market
lol the regular cars and the rivian in this both run the same times. Rivian top speed is 112mph for the bmw it’s 186mph and the Jaguar is similar. So no it doesn’t show anything. They were that close, and the rivian was done at the quarter mile, the jag and x5 were just starting to get going
And you can drive them farther. Maintain them cheaper as oil changes over lifespan are cheaper than new battery for electric vehicles. Also try charging them every 250 to 400 miles if that for hours while on a road trip. Try driving them during extreme cold or even hot weather if able to perform their performance and efficiency go down considerably. I'll take internal combustion engines for 1000 please alex!!@
