Really love these vehicles. Not sure if you’re familiar with it but watch the documentary called “the long way up”. It stars ewan mcgregor and another gentleman as they travel on EV Harley Davidsons from the tip of South America all the way up to Los Angeles. Rivian was a major sponsor and sent their developmental preproduction trucks at the time to accompany the journey. The expedition was rugged to the bone and they took a lot of what they learned from it and applied it to their actual production Rivians. Really cool to see the testing stages and what was implemented to the final product

Hm.. the Rivian is perhaps a vehicle with some Off Road capabiity. But is ist also Over Landing Capable? Means would you trust it to go from Alaska all way down to Tierra del Fuego / Trans Americana? Repair it in the middle of nowhere? Where would you charge it in the middle of nowhere e.g. when going through Africa - how long will you wait to charge it from solar / wind? what about customizing capability? Perhaps we have to distinguish between vehicles that are made for an off road park as a family outing - be back home for BBQ or doing serious expedition works in area with no infrastructure. As design is a matter of taste.. my taste is not met. But for an utility - function / capability first. - A vehicle is only considered if an off roader meets also serious overlanding capability. My opinion..
Nice! Did you have a spare tire on you or did you just risk it? I’ve been dying to hit the trails but without a full spare I am not sure if it’s a good idea.
