Got mines Friday 4/5/24 drove it loved the speed and the shocks...woke up Saturday installed new hobbywings Max 10 g2 140 amp and modified the battery tray to fit a 4s Hrb 5000mah...thing is stupid fast now love it more than my xrt...💪🏿🤷🏿♂️
I was considering the 140a version but the electronics I put in I literally just had sitting around. It's been doing really good with the 80a 3s max10. I'm good with the speed I get out of it considering it's just a basher for me
I swapped tires out after this run and just on belted tires I managed 59mph on 3s. This is also unopened diffs so stock diff fluids. I changed fluids recently to 80k/500k/80k
The suspension is impressive. Traxxas needs to learn from them how to design and implement a system that works. I thought the Gorgon had great suspension for a budget rig but this might be better. It lands more like my 8s Exb Outcast but with a fraction of the avaliable travel. I hope they can scale this up to big rigs and give us large scale guys a chance.
Yeah man I can’t wait to go to my speed run parking lot to really open it up . Streets are too narrow and sloped . I’m not trying to be a know it all . I don’t want you to wreck your new sweet Omni bro. It is super nice . Thanks for sharing and filling us in day by day . I already ordered Tuesday and still waiting for shipping info. I ll speed run it at first but it looks and is acting like a dirt monster . I want to get a formula one ground hugger for speed runs and race tracks .
@@OmniMan_Racingthis channel has is showing some cool things to do with this RC . I just got done jumping and taking a break . She lands so nice . No flips yet just long jumps , still learning but I’m getting better . I can launch the k6s pretty good now but not like some vids yet .
Did the hobbywing esc and new motor combo you added work as just a plug and play to work with the stock remote or is there a lot of programming to do to make it all function?
Can you clarify what changes you made compared to the out of the box configuration? It looks like you added in the larger pinion gear that comes in the box, you upgraded the battery (kept it 3 cell still), and configured the ESC. Anything else you did?
What would be a good tool kit for getting started, I mean bits exc that would fit some of this small stuff? I have tools but not much for this small acale.
Mip has some of the best hex drivers on the market. Don't cheap out on your tools or you end up with a lot of stripped hardware. I also use tools from Dynamite
Which Hobbywing Max 10 version do you have? I have a Castle set up with matching green motor or Hobbywing Max 10 G2 I’ll have to check the kv I don’t remember but I could put either one in but I’m going to run it on a better battery & switch out the pinion & if something blows up I’ve got the other 2 set ups waiting.
@@Casitascrawlers my motor is the G3 also. I wouldn't go much over stock gearing or it'll get hot bashing. The stock gearing is kinda tall to accommodate for the stock motors lower kv rated and if I'm not mistaken the lowest kv hobbywing max10 3652 motor that's offered is 3300kv
I already had the electronics I swapped in and I didn't want to go high voltage to achieve more speed. I only really swapped the electronics out because the brakes on the stock ESC are horrible
@@SloppytoppyRC this was a 3300kv max10 80a combo. I no longer run this setup. Now I'm in a Hobbystar 4068 2650kv motor and castle Mamba Monster 2 ESC. I currently pull mid 50mph on only 2s
