The process of developing a no compromise Audio DAC requires expertise in many areas. This seminar will explore the technical decisions made while designing the Boulder 2120 DAC. Our panel will explain the choices that we had to make, and why we chose what we did. We will focus on several key areas found in current DAC systems including:
- Digital Inputs- Getting Bits Into the DAC with no errors
- Digital to Analog Conversion- Oversampling, clocks, and other conversion issues
- Analog Circuits- Filters, amplification, coupling, step response and group delay
- The User Interface- The Non-Audio part of the musical experience

A suggestion. What about add some post processing to improve the voice? reduce some noice and make the voice louder.

Agreed. These are, after all, audio seminars...

That's compression right? I agree it needs that. Level the sound throughout the video cause some parts are too quiet.

Actually what needs to happen is just to raise the gain of the audio in places.

MrCatalysis101 Why I said that it is because some times you dont know what you get when you record. But before uploading there are tons of options to improve the quality.

According to the 2009 Stereophile review of Boulder 1021 disc player /DAC www.stereophile.com/cdplayers/boulder_1021_disc_player/ ... "The digital card sends the corrected, upsampled, and filtered data as a serial stream to the fully balanced, four-layer analog circuit card. This converts the data to analog using Analog Devices AD1955A converters". The AD1955A lists for about $7.00 each. Pretty sure the 2120 DAC is based on the AD1955A ... listen at 59:25

Dave Dever is a jerk. He needs to chill and take some lessons from Rich on how to deal with uncomfortable questions. Chris had a legitimate question and because Dave is frustrated with MQA he doesn't take it out on consumers. Im glad I can't afford Boulder Equipment, because now I don't have to decide to support them or not.
