Yamaha says dip in the dip stick, don't screw it in. So unscrew it, wipe it, then dip it in to get your accurate reading. Don't screw! 🙂

Awesome job on the video I was gonna do one this summer but you knocked it out of the park as far as cleaning I use the slicks products and for once it's all washed I use the slicks products shine and protect that helps a ton when you go to wash it again everything just slides right off and as far as the dip stick I screw it in because these tend to blow oil out when you only set it on top that's been my experience I'm sure others have had other results

Excellent presentation! Thanks for doing it! Where did you get your fender flares? Yamaha doesn't have any at least here in Canada. Thanks again.

I have a video on this on my channel but you do not screw the dipstick in to check it on a Yamaha dry sump system always just sit it on top without screwing it in to check the oil level. Also bring the machine up to temp then let sit for 10 mins to check it.

Thank you. A friend pointed it out to me in the manual shortly after I posted the video. Can’t believe I over looked it but glad to have that clarified. That ten min window is perfect for changing the trans fluid.

@@buckeyetrailblazers5861 haha yes sir it is. The trans fluid is the easiest thing to change on these machines lol

Most of the brands are meant to be checked without screwing in the stick. It should state in your manual under checking oil though.

I don't think it says in the manual, but I saw another video where a guy talked to somebody at Yamaha, that said you do NOT screw it in to check the level, You just set it in the hole and maybe give it a little turn to seat it and then you check the level. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I'm waiting for my rmax 4. What is the mpg
@buckeyetrailblazers5861
@buckeyetrailblazers5861 2 года назад
Mark, the fuel capacity is 9.2 gallons and I have gotten up to 115 miles on one tank of fuel. So that would be around 12.5 mpg. If you are heavier on the throttle, Id say 90 to 100 miles per tank could be expected. One thing to be aware of is Yamaha has the fuel light setup to come on WAY TO EARLY! This came directly from a Yamaha engineer I spoke with. I decided to push the limits one time and ran 30 miles with the light on. It took 8.5 gallons to fill, so I could have probably squeezed a few more miles out of it in a pinch.

I was interested in System 3 tires, until I found out they are Chinese made, and some have had issues with them being out of round, not to mention boat anchor heavy. I don't buy Chinese anything, if there are other good choices.

I’ve had no issues with them. Best tire available but that’s just my opinion. The 30” setup on my two seat weighed just a few lbs. more than my stock wheel and tire combo, fwiw.

I put 30 inch xtr370s with sti wheels on my rmax 4. I didn't weigh them but picking them up felt almost identical to me when picking up the oem tire/wheel. I was not real happy with how the carnage tires performed. I went with the xtrs based on buckeye trailblazers recommendation and am completely satisfied with them. Whole different machine in my opinion.

Be careful of overfilling. You’ll know if you did. The excess oil will be in your air intake box with your filters if you overfilled. Did it once on my X2. Was a disaster.
