love that video but imo that power gain come from an heavier helmet used for the stock muffler test lol keep up with those rmax videos 🤟

Can you run just the muffler and without an ecu flash?
@AppalachianMountainRiders

I don’t recommend it. It’ll lean out an already lean engine even more. I did run the round series RPM muffler without a tune for a bit and it was so lean it would stall quite often cause it ran out of fuel. As soon as I tuned it zero stalling and zero issues. If you don’t want to tune or don’t have the funds to do both then I recommend just going with a tip. There are a few options out there such as Weller Racing, Hunterworks, and I believe Wisky Bent Motorworks that make them and it really improves the sound without the need for tuning. And they bolt on in a couple minutes provided the bolts holding the stock tip on cooperates and come out…lol

I’m looking at getting an X2 or RMAX2 in the next 6-9 months. For riding primary Spearhead & HMT trails, would I regret going with an X2 over an RMAX?

I got an X2 a year ago. Couldn't justify spending another $6-10,000 more (depends on what trim you get) for the R-max. The X2 is a little underpowered but a great machine and smaller too. If you have the extra money I'd probably get the R-max but you won't be disappointed in the X2 unless your looking for top speed all the time.

@@rickchuska5349 Just another thing. I did just add a Weller Racing ECU flash and an HMF exhaust which helps in both power and performance. It definitely helps. My brother has a 4 month old stock X2 and mine takes his pretty easily in top speed and take off. The stock top speed is 55-56 mph and now mine is 59-60. I am going to do some clutching whenever I need to get new tires and I think that will help out alot and put me where I want to be with more power and speed. It will be around $1000 for the flash, exhaust, and clutching but still way less then the lowest priced R-max. Just another thing to consider that you can add some more power to the X2 while still keeping it reliable. The flash actually makes it run better and be more reliable with making the fan come on sooner, better throttle response, etc... Good luck you'll be happy with either one. I had a Yamaha Rhino before my X2.👍

@@jimh.412 This is big help in my decision. I want to use it more for trail riding & not too worried about speed (but there are those times I like to go faster). I really like the idea of the modifications you mention. As long as I can get up a steep hill with no problem & a little more clearance with bigger tires, sounds like the X2 is capable of my kind of trail riding. Thanks again!

I agree with everything Jim H said. With a tune and sheave the X2 is VERY strong. To add to that if you save up and get a set of Walker Evans shock, my X4 on Walker Evans rode nicer than my Rmax does on the stock Fox shocks. The money you save going 850 over the 1000 can easily get you there!

Maybe with a machine that strong a 20-40? And a 0-40? I know space is limited I’m sure. Thanks for the video

I think I could get a 0 to 40 on my drag strip. The Rmax is quick enough I should have room! Not sure about the 20-40 yet but we are done making hay on our farm so that opens up the fields to make room!!😁

The drag time with just the muffler and no tune will likely be the faster time. Being that it was running way lean. Leaner is faster until you melt a piston. I will be interested in the final times, but adding fuel may actually slow it down. An engine makes the most power when it is on the edge.
