BADASS WOMAN! She has by-far been so motivational to me. I would love to meet her in person. She retired recently and Bonnie Crombie took her place, big shoes to fill eh? HAZEL will always be one of the best mayors in the GTA!
Met her a few times, she's absolutely amazing. She's so passionate, and a lovely person to talk to. So sad to see her retiring soon, but it's been an amazing 30 something years! Love you hazel!
She's amazing!! She was at an opening for a new commercial building I was working on and she gave a wonderful little speech, cracking jokes, schmoozing. She really is unstoppable. I hope she lives forever!
I lived in Mississauga for 12 years and I have always had tremendous respect for this lady. I also agree that she would have been a great Prime Minister. Thank you Hazel.
Incredible and inspirational! Wow! Yes, I am taking note and getting off my butt to be the best I can be, to be a part of the solution and live up to my highest potential! Amen Hazel!!!
This lady is awesome. Someone to really look up to. God keep her well and as robust as she is now for many, many more years. It would be a real honor to meet her. A real inspiration to many and especially to women everywhere.
What a beautiful tribute...thank you Rick for all the years you gave us such wonderful comedy. Thank you Hazel for your decades of service as mayor. ❤❤❤
All politicians have a lot to learn from this nice lady. And all humans need a good sense of humor, like hers as well. Beautiful human being. Greetings from Mexico too! :)
@ adad: but, Mississauga isn't a residential area of Toronto. You mean to say, GTA, which is a metropolitan area, but judging by your lack of knowledge, and your juvenile interests, its no surprise that you're prone to mistakes. Most of the residents of Mississauga are families, and so the 'city' was designed for family oriented living. Its only now getting corporate and capital, and being recognized as a major Canadian city. Mississauga happens to be the largest goods, distribution and transport hub of North America. Thats why so many people are employed and well off in Mississauga, meanwhile folks in Toronto are still robbing each other for food and crack. With regards to landscape, The Emerald Towers and Absolute Towers should give you an indication of where Mississauga's future is headed. Also, if you bought a house in Mississauga 10 years ago for $400K, and your home today is worth the Missisauga average of $750,000 you would certainly not be hating.
I know the difference between GTA and Toronto. But do not take that literally. Are you really comparing Mississauga with Toronto.. Are you nuts?? ..Do not forget the only university of Mississauga is called UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO AT MISSISSAUGA!!!! Say that it is a residential city of Toronto. Yeah that's better. Mississauga prices have gone up. So whats the big deal. House prices also went up in Markhan and Vaughan. Like what is there to do in this city except SQUARE ONE MALL? Give me a reason why it is special. Missisaugan women are old, fat, and ugly. The city is filled with ugly girls from India and Pakistan and people are conservative.
Congratulations , very interesting note , the production deserves an applause...but the one that indeed deserves all my respects and admiration is this wonderful woman. Hurricane Hazel she is an example and inspiration of life. Greetings from Mexico
Way to go Rick... you too are one of our national treasures. You make me proud to be a Canadian With Gratitude Allan Hunkin Speaker, Writer, Broadcaster
Outstanding!!! I love her energy. 88 years old and still mayor of 11 consecutive elections, 31 years, pretty amazing accomplishment that I don't think any politician will ever break.
Oh god I love this lady. I met her at a Colts/Majors game, and she was so nice and so sweet. She stayed until everyone who traveled for the game left, and really made the trip worth it. Really cool lady.
wow now she is an absolute inspiration, how cool is she. I wish we had more leaders like here. She reminds me of my 89 year old mother who still delivers meals on wheels, works at the hospital tuck shop, does all kinds of volunteer work. Here's to our wonderful older generation, they rock!!
What a gem. God has blessed her with many talents but the best part is she uses them. Politicians in our country have forgotten they went to Washington to serve, and that God had something to do with that too. Remember we are blessed to serve.
God bless you You Made Mississauga like a dream when I was a kid May you god rest your soul God put people like you as a light in this dark world 🌎 you gave your life to the people
This is so inspiring! She's done a great job and still seems to be completely capable of serving as mayor. Her athletic ability and passion for fitness have played a role, no doubt. Wish she was mayor of my city.
This is by far my favorite RMR, not to be eclipsed by the inimitable Jann Arden episodes, but this one is in a class of its own! Well done Mayor Hurricane!
What a great lady and mayor! I like that model of the city she showed. This clip is really a boon to their Chamber of Commerce because it makes me want to visit Mississauga.
Me, Mahendiran J K, from Chennai, India. Love to watch this video. My philosophy towards work is "Work for the society as much and as long as you can, there is no retirement for such service. Only the Almighty decides your retirement Absolutely". Given an opportunity I would love to pay a visit to Mississauga to meet her exclusively!
I want to be just like Hazel when I get on in years and I sure wish I could go to her college! Many people out here in Kitchener Waterloo and the surrounding areas could learn so very much from Hazel! Way to go girl Hazel! I wish you were my mom! p.s. this should be on David Letterman or Leno! She's a natural and the skates holy doodle!!! Mayor Hazel many of us boomers could never keep up to you-makes me want to move on back there now!! Have a great day!
