Here's another rotational movement exercise with the RMT rope.
The overhand sneak was a challenge for me to learn but once you obtain the skill, you will be able to grease the groove and log some serious reps to restore rotational freedom in the body. Enjoy playing with balance, proprioception, rhythm and athleticism with this movement!
Purchase your RMT Rope at weckmethod here: bit.ly/3hxhDWz and use code: WMA212 for 10% off!
Have fun and let me know if you have any questions!

I’ve been working on this for two weeks watching tutorial after tutorial and could not get it. Watching you and following your method I had it down within 60 seconds now I’m gonna look for your tutorial on the underhand sneak.

Great cueing, thankyou - good cueing is so important with learning moves like this - that's the best cueing i've heard so far for the sneak.

To me, it looks like you leave your rear hand open, which results in a dragon roll movement rather than the sneak. Am I wrong?
@smoovmoves
@smoovmoves Месяц назад
Either way works. You’re not wrong. Technically on the sneak you would close the rear hand but the open hand results in an overhand throw motion which ive found is easier to learn for most people.

Isn’t this just a side on dragon roll? The back hand doesn’t appear to be 'sneaking'.

Like this ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Rv6HyQswDYQ.html shows the dragon roll transitioning into over and underhand sneaks.

Yeah great observation! There are a few ways of going about it. After years of practice, I like to incorporate both the back hand “sneaking” AND the back hand palm facing up which basically mimics and overhand throwing motion. Definitely out of date instruction on this one, I’m going to make a new video to address this. Thanks for your curiosity! 👍

I only noticed this after watching endless other vids on the OH sneak. I'm really battling with my non-dom side, so clumsy, and can relate to your rope-throwing-on-ground move. Love your hacky sack work btw!

whats the idea around hitting the floor with the rope?
@smoovmoves
@smoovmoves 2 года назад
Ground strike of the rope is not necessary, just typically happens when rolling the rope. I do find a lot of benefit in it for the purpose of rhythm and consistency. Also, when rolling the rope, the rotation and sidebending through the spine does bring the hand level closer to the ground so naturally the rope will travel closer to the ground, often striking. Short answer, do what feels good for your practice.

@@smoovmoves I've only just got my first rope, looking forwards to finding my flow, keep up the good works 💪
