You need to do a proper pedestrian detection system demonstration. Have a customer drive the car about 25 mph down a side street. You, Jeff, step out in front of the car and find out whether the brakes are applied automatically as claimed. If you live through the demonstration the customer buys the car. If Jeff is struck by the car the customer buys a Fiat 500.
I have a Corolla hatchback 2019 SE like in the video and the RSA option is missing. I live in Puerto Rico, does the models in Puerto Rico doesn’t have RSA?. The RSA is the only option missing everything else is available on the screen.
I think we'll be ok since it's heading south of Raleigh now.....but I guess you never know. I feel bad for the NC coastline....We are supposed to head to Emerald Isle next weekend, but who knows what it will look like. They keep showing the Emerald Isle pier getting hammered on The Weather Channel all day.....
Dude you're a faker. The pedestrian detection did not even activate because you had your foot on the brake. Obviously you couldn't actually test it without nearly hitting her and causing a scene. So there was no scenario to be had. You would hear beeping and the brake prompt on your screen
Toyota needs to be more clear what cars actually do. Pre-collocation detection is different than auto braking. The language is unclear to consumers. I was led to believe my 2019 Avalon Touring included auto emergency braking.
cedric182 wow, tough little keyboard warrior. You sure as hell would never say that to my face. Instead you’d piss your pants in public. I’m sure lyou live in your mother’s basement. What a loser.:)
I absolutely agree. I thought it would brake in event of a likely collision it doesn't just supposedly slow it down. When its on adaptive cruise it brakes to a stop but it needs to brake if you are about to hit something...false marketing !
Hi there can you please do a video on the miracast phone (screen mirroring) connect with the same car. I know that basically mirrors the screen but I want to see if you can use the touch on car screen instead of phone. Cheers
I like that you demonstrated the features instead of just describing them ("designed to ..."). But I'd like to see it in city traffic with more pedestrians and signs. If any reader of this comment can point me to such a video I'd appreciate it.
First time my new 21 corolla beeped at me when a bicyclist was coming towards me on a one way road it startled me. I saw him way before the car beeped.
Is it possible in 2019 Rav4 to show speed on digital screen like on the car here? If not, then I don't understand with what part are they thinking over there... 2016 Rav4 didn't show and that sucked. Thanks for good review about safety sense 2 👍
HI Jeff, Your video is awesome. Can you please let us know which models in Corolla are having Remote Connect and Entune app capability as standard? Thank you in advance :) Does LE have it as standard?
Jeff, I tried lane trace and it didn’t seem to work. I had painted road markings on the left side of the car but the right side was only a curb. Does it need roadways with painted markings on both sides?
The auto dimming high beam headlights don’t work so well for me...they don’t switch off for oncoming cars, but will when they reflect off street signs! Don’t even use it anymore. But, everything else TSS is awesome! Mine doesn’t have the speed limit sign recognition, is it on the 4Runners? Thank you for the upload - always enjoy your informative videos.
Is DRCC good for stop and go heavy traffic? I saw on the video that your car stopped when the car in front of you stopped, but does DRCC continue driving after a full stop?
My mom has a 2019 Corolla hatchback se. I was looking through it. I havent found the lane tracing but the kane assist works. Also, for the pre-collision assist, does that work off of how many feet and or speed?
It should be using millimeter-wave radar, which inherently detects *range velocity and angle* of objects in view, from a few cm away to 300+ feet in automotive applications, mmwave can transmit pretty high bandwidth resulting in increased accuracy (range resolution) when detecting multiple targets on the same path/bearing at different distances (A group of people walking for example, or cars in front of you on a fairly straight road).
tss2 is better than Honda sensing, and it's standard unlike Honda. Toyota has had the equivalent for years also, TSS and TSS-P. TSS2 is on a whole other level.
