One of Melissa's concerns with going from the Triglide to the Road Glide 3 was storage space and being able to carry all her prepper supplies. In this video she shares what she packed on the Triglide, what she is able to get in the Road Glide 3 storage compartment and what did not make it on the motorcycle. As an added bonus, she shares what she packs in her 72 hour get home emergency bag.

Riding single you can carry just as much on the RG3 as the Tri Glide. Fill the trunk with stuff and two duffle bags. One on the rack and one on the seat. Anymore than that, take the truck.
@MidLifeStyleTwins
@MidLifeStyleTwins Год назад
I think a couple of upright duffle bags (like Adam Sandoval shared in one of his videos) would work nicely. I tend to overpack and am working on changing that.

Melissa! Great video. Lots of good stuff. You have to pack like you are on your own. No phone, no stores, no bank, etc. Whether people know it or not, or if they even care, bad times could be coming our way. You have to be ready for any scenario. Example: I had to get new plates for my car. I went to the bank ATM to get extra cash, it was just across the street from DMV. ATM closed. Bank closed. I remembered The Giant Eagle across the street had an ATM. Success! What if everything. was closed and you had no access to your money. Always carry extra cash in small bills. If you are on the road and the power is out, some places might take cash, but cannot give change. Safe riding Melissa. Be careful on your own. .......................... 😎👍👍

THANKS for the video ! I own the "twin" to your RG3 (I purchased mine a months ago). I have spent the interim working with my dealer getting the mods installed and taking short day trips. All the while wondering - like you - how am i gonna pack for week long trips. So your video was very timely . My basic plan is "reduce" everything I carry.. clothes, toiletries, and beer and will strap my biggest piece of luggage to my luggage carrier. Anything left over stays home ... FYI *** I have 1800 miles on my RG 3 and just recently replaced my factory rear suspension with Legends REVO-A, 13.6 shocks. Makes a HUGE difference in rider comfort !!! THANK YOU again for your videos ...... Ride Safe !!!

I will share this information with my husband about the Shocks. I guess for me it does not bother me at all. For him, coming from 2 wheels it is a little different. Yep, my philosophy, if it does not fit, I do not need it. I am going to buy a couple rain proof duffle bags (vertical). I think that may do the trick. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Trike twin, great pack set-up, this brings you confidence boosting gusto to go on those multi-day trip/rides and not be afraid of a thing. As a guy, I can use your packing set-up as a blue print for when I decide to go on an "overnight" or longer trip! Have great success with being a role model-not just for the ladies, yet, for the guys that travel on 2, and, on 3 wheel's. As a nurse by skill, you know how to pack "the right stuff"!👍😁😎🦅 Encouragement the ladies to follow their dreams to the fullest, and, have them text you about their trips-maybe even send you a few e-photos of their adventures on 3 wheel's! Hi from Melbourne Australia! I've ordered my RG3 - Billiard Blue with black engine. It's gonna take a few months to get here, I traded up from a Sport Glide. I'm looking forward to long trips and weekends away which I couldn't do easily on my Sport Glide. The Autralian National HOG Rally is in September over in South Australia which will be my first big trip on my new bike. Looks like I can get all the stuff i need to take - I'll have the backrest and luggage rack so I should be good to go! Thanks for all your videos! These, and others from other youtubers, helped me to choose the Road Glide 3. Safe Riding, Steve

A couple of things. Being a Freewheeler rider for a while now, I learned things for storage. 1st. Amazon has a great soft waterproof carrier that mounts right to your luggage rack. It will hold as much if not more than a medium tour pack. It straps securely to the luggage rack so no fear of losing it. Check it out. 2nd. I installed lower front fairings with storage compartments. They will hold your paperwork, sunglasses, small emergency kit, flashlight and other small items. Theses make getting those items quickly without having to unload your trunk.3rd A windshield bag comes in mighty handy for small items and doesn't take up any space. With the exception of the lower fairings everything is quick disconnect so you have the freedom to decide how much you need for short rides. Ride safe and enjoy the Ride. Peace.

Curious about where you’re riding that could result in a 2-3 day walk home - at best! A get home bag seems over kill to me.
@MidLifeStyleTwins
@MidLifeStyleTwins 6 месяцев назад
I have read multiple book (Borrowed World by Franklin Horton and Going Home/Survivalist Series by A.American) and the one thing I will not be is unprepared in the event of a world changing event like an EMP/CMP or terrorist attack that will leave my transportation not working or unable to get gas. If I have to hike home, I need to have some things with me to help me get there. If I ride 100 miles away, count on a minimum of 2-3 days to get home and that is if I can walk up to 30 miles a day and conditions allow it. Thank so much for asking. I like the videos to be upbeat without mentioning the things that could go wrong and make it depressing. :). Note, in those books are many sad stories of what happens if you are not prepared.
