All points are spot on. My wife and I put on over 11000km (just under 7000mi), on our 2023 RGL. No regrets! As I age the weight will be a factor but for now we are enjoying every mile we put on. Keep the shiny side up!👊🏼

My wife and I just passed 34,000 miles today on my ‘21 Road Glide Limited, and it’s all recreational mileage (I work out of my home office, so I have no commute). I bought it new in April 2021, and it still rides like the day I bought it… though, it still has the stock seat, bars, suspension, engine components, so no wonder it does. 😂 It’s a fantastic bike, and has been an ideal motorcycle for very long two-up trips. My wife originally wasn’t thrilled about me buying this bike (primarily because of the price tag), but she’s turned around and loves it now to the point that lately she’s instigated a few trips (“Hey, let’s go here. Hey, let’s go there.”). More often than not, these days, our “us-time” activity is on the RGL, heading some point on the compass, listening to music through the headsets (and sometimes singing along), and both of us blah blah blah with each other the vast majority of time. It might just be the thing that could put marriage counselors outta business. At least for us, anyway. 😉

Totally agree and same with us. This bike and communication devices has done great things for our get away times and marriage. We better keep them both!

I bot my 2011 road glide ultra used in 2017 and its a 103 cu in and you are right it is heavy but is comfortable. I traded my 2006 soft tail std in to get the road glide. This was in northern AZ with lot's of ups and downs and lots of curves and switchbacks by Sedona and this bike handles it like a dream. I am West Texas now due to financial troubles but still ride almost every day. Troubles here all the roads are straight and flat. Keep up the videos I watch every chance I get.
@BoDean52
@BoDean52 Год назад
thanks for that and like Texas, Michigan is so flat. Find a few roads that have some excitement but need to travel to get to some real good ones

All points made are spot on, I use my touring bike as a all around cruiser. It’s my bar hopper and long distance bike. It can be a bit heavy but I found over time you get use to it

Agree and so fun to ride no matter where we go. Just checking your channel out, nice stuff!

I keep a cooler, and things I may need on the road in the high side saddlebag, and gear I won’t need until I arrive is in the low side saddlebag. The longer the trip, the more I will carry in the tour pack, and use the bag on the trunk. For highway riding, nothing beats the big tourer with cruise control!!

Bob, all great points and I think we all pack our touring bikes different when riding alone. Now when the misses is along with all her gear I will pull the trailer. Hey there are options

Will be moving up to a touring bike in the next year or so. Appreciate this review. @ 8:20ish….bought the bike as an ‘investment’? Maybe investing in enjoyment but certainly not a monetary investment…..going up in value. As of right now, change is always possible, gonna go with a Goldwing. All my buds ride Harleys, have all the Harley gear, and don’t mind giving me shat. Always tell ‘em, u ride ur ride and I’ll ride mine. Never minded being the odd man out. 😂 Harley has lost their minds with prices, bikes, accessories, and service.
@BoDean52
@BoDean52 Год назад
No kidding on the prices and who cares what someone rides. My investment comment was more the $$ for the enjoyment. We all know they resale is never really good. Good luck on picking the new bike!

I have 2017 Road Glide Ultra with close to 45,000,00 miles. I’m a firm believer in Stage 1!!!Question I have Bob is Stage 2 is it worth the money. When you factor in the weight, the fact this is a touring bike, not a lightweight drag bike. When your doing 80mph down the highway does it really matter if your a little quicker going through the gears. Doing stage 2 isn’t cheap. Love to hear your thoughts
@BoDean52
@BoDean52 Год назад
Great question and I see it both ways. No one NEEDS a stage 2 as far as I am concerned and where I like it is from a stop and it does give you the ability to get out of a jam sometimes. And of course some of us are just , men children lol

🛑🛑 I have to agree with you Bob. The Weight of the bike is a bit, overwhelming. You have to always be watching how you park, and prepare yourself for each situation when dealing with the bikes weight. 👍💯 Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a “deal breaker”, but the weight of the bike is always in the back of your mind. 👍

I'd be more scared that Mrs. BoDean will find the receipts. I said before, the Road King is everything you need, nothing you don't. You Road-Glide Limited & my Electra-Glide Ultra Classic is everything we want, but don't need. I will keep my 95th Anniversary Ultra Classic stock, as it has so many factory options, it is like a Cadillac. My junker 1994 Electra-Glide Classic will be rebuilt, but will end up stripped down to the basics, just like a Road King. It will be my daily bike, while the 95th Anniversary will be for long-distance touring. My Flathead chopper will be used mainly for bar hopping. Trouble is I rarely hang out at bars
@BoDean52
@BoDean52 Год назад
Amen on the Road King and I am still considering bars. Fortunate to have two bikes

Well same from and both great bikes. For me, the top two things I like better is the room in the cockpit (I had an 18 UL) as my UL felt cramped at 6'3". Also, no doubt it rides better at highway speeds. I would take either one for sure!
