I have those heated grips on mine, I never have to use them over setting 3 ( reckon they would melt my gloves on full 😅 !) One good bit of advice is to always turn them off when you switch of the Bike as they draw a lot of current and the minute you turn on the ignored they start draining the battery, if the battery is getting low you could be stranded or need a jump start ! Another great vid 👍keen them coming.
Great insight into much needed accessories mate . Well delivered too. Food for thought going into my 1st season on the RK. 👍👍 Love that jacket too btw . 💯
Hi love your channel,I have a 17 rks .I installed the same mustang seat, the original was terrible.I alsolike the phone mount must look into it.Thanks again & safe travels.
Ah cheers for taking time to comment . We appreciate that ! Yeah it’s a good seat eh . As I said I’d never had a phone , but man it makes life easier .. cheers bud . Best wishes.
@@LeanIntoTheWinda BMW R9T - love it but thinking of something a bit bigger for touring further and don’t want an adventure bike, been there and done that already - just something nicely crafted with boundless torque…
@@ChrisT_593 Beautiful man !!!!! Just love it there … hope it brightens up by next week Me & the Mrs planning on passing through on the way up to the Highlands.. i keep looking at weather forecast haha but it changes daily ..
Have had my quad lock on the top of the handlebars and hated it then just came across your channel and ordered the 10mm spacer with I didn’t know they did, cheers bud 👍
What about the driving lights on the highway bars? Really like those. Looking into getting the higher sissy bar. All I find is the pointy ones and not a fan of those . Ive got a 2022 RK Special in Midnight Crimson, stage 2 with 14" mini apes and yea I do use a windshield, being an old guy lol
The lights are Denali R4’s . They are bloody great . I just run them on 10% … and that way not too bright for on coming traffic. But very visible, especially with the yellow lenses. But at night they really show up pot holes etc .. and the full beam goes on forever. Yeah I’m not into pointed crash bars either . Ah I love the crimson colour !! Bet that looks so sick with the 14s too ! I’ve never had a windshield so I don’t know what I’m missing. Cheers for watching bud
You installed the Road Glide Special Bars? Was at my HD Dealer today and he told me that there i a hole at each side of the bar, right next to the grips. It seems these holes in your bar are filled with something? Or are these just deepenings, no real holes? Do you remember the part no. of the RGS bars you‘ve installed? Thx mate
Yeah mate , OEM Road Glide , not got part number but 2017 up to now apparently all like this … unsure bout earlier . 32 wide so much better 7 inch more pullback . Yep two holes , you can get a cover plate I saw on a video somewhere… But I just put black tape over as I’m lazy . But I’m gonna make a couple of black plastic covers from some plastic brackets I found .
Your black tape looks much nicer than the oem plastic brackets from the RGS (41700321 and 36700113 if you need). That plastic brackets make the bar look a bit thick and cheap. Your solution looks way cleaner and thinner than those plastic bumpers. Looking forward for your new solution with the brackets you found👍🏻
Man... Your missing a lot of accessories. How about a windshield, taller bars so your not all hunched over riding, LED lights, that seat doesn't look comfortable at all for long distance riding, highway pegs....
Each to their own , I’ve never had nor needed a windshield. I changed the bars to road glide ones they are perfect for me , tons pullback … LED Lights I have , Seat is absolutely fine … no complaints. I never felt need for highway pegs … My legs don’t ache , I have enough movement with floorboards to shift position enough to keep me happy . Obviously you can buy a 100 more things This is just my ones that I use daily and have made a difference. I’m not at all saying This is what you need . Best wishes mate
They are OEM Road Glide Handlebars They much better than RKS Stock Much narrower at 32 inch wide and have a lot more pullback at least 5 inches more if I remember correctly. So they allow a bend in your arm .. and you don’t need to change any cables it’s straight swap . Thanks for watching
@@LeanIntoTheWind Thanks for that. I'm looking at changing the awful ape hangers that a previous owner has fitted to my 2018 RKS so will give the OE Road Glide bars a look
