The cougar came and went, so plans change. Instead of improving Forsaken Airfield, it is time to wrap up Buried Echoes and go to the new region: Sundered Pass. To get there, we need to traverse a long and windy cave system.

I can actually explain your "Timberwolves in FA" thing because I happened to just watch that video: you found two marine flares in a trailer on your first exploration, immediately went, "Oh, there must be timberwolves here," and consequently when you next saw a group of wolves existing roughly together you declared them to be timberwolves without getting any closer because you'd primed yourself for it.

thing is, i think i saw timberwolves in FA too. They were somewhere between the crashed heli and the road to the hut where u use the polaroid, on that flat plain of snow. They have a different look than regular wolves. Im pretty sure they were timberwolves. But this was months ago. I dont know if they removed them since then. Since in SP i could make out that the packs were timberwolves from quite a distance, im still pretty convinced that what i saw in FA were also indeed timberwolves. They look different. they are more... arched when they walk. Maybe they removed them soon after release of FA?

Just got stuck in a hole in Sundered Pass. Right before the rope climb to the weather station, to the right looks like good shelter from the wind. STAY AWAY! Little hole with steep sides. Trying to get out and got a sprain, long run finished.

To be fair it was skeletal and not the entire body. Also it was a she :) But moving the bodies in the bases is something people request often. Safehouse customization might fix it

The ptarmigan slaughter was immaculate lol I tried this region completely blind last night, spawning in Transfer Pass, and I am STRUGGLING. I am refusing to look at a map so I am totally lost and I had no idea it was so cold!! Hoping it helps my familiarity and survival skills, though. I already redeemed myself from 2% health by miraculously finding a cave, so, I am feeling more confident already lol

"Tell your friends to like and subscribe" 😂😂 so maybe Space Bear is also back in the game? 😅Only dipped my toes in the region to have it in the main menu to choose my region... But then wolf got a deer for me at last/lonely house (can't remember, the one in the basin), as I skinned it another wolf came looking and I managed to send him the second deer. So I had to stay but didn't brought my bedroll and the house has no bed (maybe behind the looked door?) worst was the never ending wind, like in BI, no time to harvest and cook your stolen prey in peace. Can't imagine what this kind of wind will do to you up at the timberwolve plateau 😮

Thanks for the video Zak! I am willing you to look at your journal before you leave the weather station. I suppose there is still time. I just finished the tales on my long term pilgrim explorer run. This is one of the few places where a best gear equipped pilgrim can die from the cold. I have to say you need to be very good to avoid the timber wolves or you will get to kill quite a few of them. I plan to come back and do this on Stalker at some point.

1:12:15 The door with key that you found on your blind play through was in the cabin on the lower level of the region. The room in the back is locked ands needs a key.

I always think the caves are going to have more loops. The mine had a lot of loops and it took a long time to figure out how to get anywhere. Imagine if the caves in the Long Dark were confusing enough you could die of hunger inside before you found your way.

I haven’t “game’d” in about 6 plus years and recently got back into it…the first game I randomly came across when I started back a few weeks ago is The Long Dark..after dying quickly my first attempt I went to search for some tips which is how I came across your videos! My first video was Ep 1 of this series..now after a couple weeks of binge watching every episode..I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your videos.. they are not only entertaining but informative! The door that is locked is near to the lowest elevation parts of the map in the house. It is pretty close to where you spawned when doing those multiple interloper runs that you started in Sundered Pass.

Read the book after watching the James Mason movie of Journey to the Ceantar of the Earth and was struck by the difference! Another great author who went the center earth route was Edgar Rice Broughs Pellucider series which also suffered from poor movie adaptations as the movie special effects were just not up to the level we have today in order to make them great movies!

in contrast to SP, Pleasant valley looks like a sunny holiday place 😂 but it is beautiful! I think they changed also a bit on the looks ike the trees and contrast and so on .... but it is not a place to stay longer 😏

There was a backpack right next to the door in the room with the safe you missed. The room that’s locked is in the cabin on the lower level and I’d love to see where the key is and to see what’s there if you are able to lead the way!

SPOILER! (but not so much loool) The key is part of the Tales. He's in the right spot. The key is in a stash at the weather station. Zak needs to wait for an aurora. If he leaves now, he'll be forced to comeback to the station to get the key. 1:20:19 i hope he reads the quest notes. It says right there.. 'reach the weather station'!

This transition cave is actualy the first one where the "turn always to the right" trick is not working a 100%. It is quite easy to nevertheless find the right way, but I found that interesting

Getting to SP from FA use left hand rule. To get there from ZOC use right hand rule. If you do the other way you will just go between ZOC and FA.

I am confused by one thing. I am about to finish last horizon and my last step is to go back to Bunker Omega. But on this run, I have not done signal void. So when I get back for an airfield, will I be able to access bunker Omega?I’m feeling a bit of anxiety about this.

Yes you should be able to but you will probably be required to repair the Signal Transmitter in FA first and grab the shortwave radio and then an aurora and go over to Bunker Omega from there. Should be super simple without having to do all of Signal Void

You can't start Last Horizon nor Buried echoes without repairing FA's transmitter first, as you start both tales searching stuff with SW handheld radio

Am I the only one who's game is missing like 80% of its sound effects when I try to play it? Animals, harvesting, and selecting/picking up and dropping items are all silent except for the rifle, bow and ammo.

That really stinks. It is quite difficult when coming from Transfer Pass and going to the Weather station. Soooo many packs of timberwolves with this route but they can be completely dodged by taking the FA/ZOC Caves to the Weather Station.

imo the map is a bit too bland. especially the rope climb in the north past the timberwolf leads to a dead end. also too many timberwolves. its just... eh
