For those players watching notice the control all three players demonstrate. It does require a certain consistent skill set to do these drills. I use most of these drills with my High School Varsity Team. My slogan is practice with a purpose! All shots have a purpose, placement and variable pace and net clearance. Hit and hope is a tactic of last resort. I also like to do a one on two volley drill starting a service line with the one putting the ball into play and closing in for second volley. If you feed the first ball low the return will have to come back high to clear the net. By moving forward and the one can cut off the return and control the point.

thomas medeiros thanks for the insights and drill recommendation Thomas. Always good to hear from a fellow coach. Keep up the great work! 💪🏼

Even in front of visitors my coach is nowhere near as nice to me as this 😂

Robert VDL we were definitely having a little fun. Things may have been a bit different had we actually been training.

lol. "I'm gonna hit a 'tweener and you're going to miss a high backhand volley to go down 2/zero". I have that same backhand high volley shot in my bag.

Back of the Line Tennis lol...man did Scott take satisfaction in this comment. I was simply distracted at the rare occurrence of SB making a tweener. 😉 🤯 Thanks for watching! -Nate

Great video! I'm a competitive junior player and we train with 2 on 1s all the time to raise our intensity and work on our footwork. What school does Andrew play for?
@Playyourcourt
@Playyourcourt 4 года назад
Eli Hirshberg thanks for the feedback and glad to hear you enjoyed the instruction. Andrew received multiple offers at division 1 schools but elected to take a academic scholarship at UVA. He is currently the #1 player on the club team. Keep grinding out there Eli!

@@andrewroberts7638 Thanks. Great playing btw. In your opinion, wow does the VC100 compare to the VC98 or Pure Drive/Aero f.inst.?
@andrewroberts7638
@andrewroberts7638 4 года назад
@@jeanb.3493 Well, the last time I played with the Pure Drive I was about 12 years old, and I've never hit with the Aero so I can't give you an accurate comparison. I think it would be fair to say the VC100 is relatively similar to the Pure Drive in that they are both power rackets, but I don't feel like I've sacrificed any of the control I had when I was playing with Head Prestige Rev Pro. Hope this helps!

Drills not so bad.. But u preface every video w "This video is for this or that level. My philosophy, as a USPTA pro, I treat all my students the same, regardless of their level. I have the same expectations for everyone. I want to see control and feel. This is part of the very successful Spanish method of teaching. For me The ONLY difference is the results, different from a beginner to a more advanced player. I want my students to own their shot making, be proud of it, and have fun executing. Oh, and less talking, and more ball striking is always good. I teach my students to coach themselves.
@Playyourcourt
@Playyourcourt 4 года назад
Keith Soifer appreciate the insights coach. Big fan of the Spanish method as well. We must agree however that one cannot teach a beginner and a high performance athlete the same technical instruction?

Is that the pro staff autograph or the countervail? Both really good racquets but I could see myself getting hurt with the weight of the autograph after extended use
@Playyourcourt
@Playyourcourt 4 года назад
Sam Turner, Scott plays with the Fed autograph. Supper heavy stick and one I don’t recommend unless your timing and contact are relatively consistent. The Blade is a nice compromise however. Still solid plow but much more maneuverable and easier on the arm. -Nate

Too much ego on the left side of the court.
@Playyourcourt
@Playyourcourt 4 года назад
ballboy hate to hear that’s how it was perceived. We were all simply having some fun. I would say the self deprecation and not editing the misses would indicate otherwise. We obviously hold Andrew and all of our students in the highest esteem so being egotistical was definitely not our intention.

Romeo Cal interesting feedback. Andrew is D1 while Scott and I were former players in college but at no point is that discussed other than in the intro. You seem to have a lot of opinions considering this is a free video. 🤔
