at least someone had the courage to say it....unless one wants to increase bounds of human knowledge by doing research...education via a curriculum is a total waste of time and money...........Most people denying this are trying to justify their own "not so fruitful" decisions......Education system only exists (not talking about people who'll eventually increase human knowledge) so that all the people don't go out asking for job irrespective of age
Just wanted to add MS/MTech is NOT REQUIRED even for Applied Scientist roles, it just makes it slightly easier to get interviews after which all you need is the skills. I have a BTech in CS from a Tier 3 college and I am on track from SDE-ML to Applied Scientist at FAANG, and before this also I have interviewed with other FAANG+ companies for Applied Science roles.
Obviously its not required, but yes definitely it is preferred. Obviously internally one can transition to any role. Infact I have seen folks get hired externally as well, but yes that needs to be justified with immense related background. So yeah, if you want to be AS then an mtech is the preferred way to go. As all the other ways, there are no guarantees, and can take long depending on a lot of factors including luck. 🙂

Hey Soum, listened word by word to the video and have disagree to a few point you made about M.S and M.Tech 1. You will only get to join as SDE1 only. 2. Will add a lot to growth in career both finacially as well as hierarchically. 3. IISc , IIT-D IIT Madras and IIT Bombay falls into under 100 ranking in top Engineering schools. Also you have only covered the aspect of getting placed after the completion of course. Overall a decent video.

Sir what are the immigration problems ? Faced by people going to USA . I have heard that a person cannot stay more than 5 years only if he gets lucky and get h1b in lottery
If you go to US to pursue MS then you do get OPT(post study visa) for 3 years provided you bag a job within the given time frame (i.e. 180 days) Now, even if you are an asset to the company and the company files for your H1-B your application will still be in the pool for extension of visa. there are about 4 lakh entries in this pool and only 60k of them are lucky to get an extension for another 3 years? And after 3 years you have to apply again. So with MS + 3 years of OPT, the minimum amount of time you can spend in the US is 5 years for sure. Soumyajit’s video emphasised on whether you should opt for higher studies in US or not, he also mentioned that there are companies hiring in the US from India, but I believe they too provide a 3 year work visa too. The immigration process has got stringent post 2015. For more information on the immigration process you can watch videos on Yash Mitra’s RU-vid channel he has covered a lot on the US’ immigration process.

Dada, I have a weird question to ask, is it possible in the next 10-15 years that AI will replace software engineers? This gives me a lot of anxiety considering that I am from a state gov clg that too from non cse branch and I want to switch to software
The answer lies in the question itself. First experts say its very unlikely that AI would replace "good engineers" atleast within the next 40 years. But even if they do so, people would still be needed to build, maintain and optimize that AI tech. Its only that the nature of jobs change and the one with learning aptitude would always find a way out to learn with demands

Not equally. It takes a lot of time and lesser opputuinities for transfer in Microsoft. Google does have okayish opportunity definitely not at the scale and ease of Amazon. Plus from a compensation point of view, Amazon tend to pay its transfers better pay in line with the pay band than Microsoft (least paying) and Google.

But my biggest worry is that if i get the support project then how can i improve my development skills as a coding practice we do ourselves but for development, we rely on the projects then we get inside the companies as we don't have much time. @@karunyadav01 for the trader role at top prop shops in India ? No, they have JEE Rank criteria being < 500 or 2k max afaik. Your only chances are applying to hfts abroad through their portal with a referral directly after undergrad or go for mscs in US (top 15 schools) and then try for hfts there, ive seen people switching from hedge fund quant to prop shops and even from FAANG (in very rare cases) to hft, or dev in hft to trader (rare too), these are your only options sadly. do keep in mind career growth and exit opportunities being very less, most people would be better off climbing the FAANG ladder than getting into hft unless that’s what they really want to do.
@@SoumyajitBhattacharyay But in some companies CP is actually necessary. Like Uber for example. They ask 3 super difficult question in their OA and time constraint in 60 mins 😕 Doing the usual Leetcode dsa is not sufficient for that.
