Watch how I load my road train, leave Perth and drive 4000km across the Nullarbor, where I sleep and what I eat, then unload at the farms of Queensland. Visit our Sponsor at onlytrucks.com.au/?...
Really impressed by this, I'm pleasently surpised to stumble on an Aussie Truckie who can share this underappreciated lifestyle which so many take for granted. Keep this going!
That's a hell of run to deliver vermin restricting fencing but you crossed beautiful remote country that few ever explore and truly appreciate. Though I regularly travel throughout remote SA and WA as a mining engineer, the landscape is forever changing. Thank you for sharing your view. Greetings from Woomera in South Australia. 👍👍🇭🇲
Thanks, inland this country is very empty, population is only 25,000,000. 90% live on the coast. It is a long long way from anywhere west to anywhere east. Best wishes .
Such nice looking country. Lots of wire for a big job. So glad we can call them our ally for all these years. Thanks for the Seekers too Australia. Regards from the US Midwest where cows, pigs, chickens, corn and beans are our game.
So glad to have U yanks as our number 1 ally we are so much alike our two great nation's it's really cool specially considering how far apart we are in the map
Ever since I did my senior year term Paper on the nation of Australia I have been enamoured with the country and MOST OF ALL, its people. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more to come!!!!!
I'm an Australian city dweller. I have driven around this country a little. But please spare a thought for how far this fellow has gone. He never talked about it, save a quick view of the map. But for those in doubt from Western Australia to Queensland via the route shown is one very very long drive.Enormous really.
@@RoadTrainAdventures Thanks for showing how and what you do mate. I find it really fascinating. I've done Perth to Melbourne and back quite a few times over the years, but just in a regular car. Seeing how it's done in a road train is really cool. Safe travels and all the best.
@@RoadTrainAdventures The first time I did it was in 1983, in a 1970 Datsun 1200, with my family of four in it! Perth/Melb/Canberra/Perth. Every time a road train was approaching from the opposite direction, my old man would shout "Brace yourselves!' haha. We had an AM radio, a dodgy battery tape player and an old foam esky. No air con or phones or anything... It was pretty wild! Anyway, take care out there. Cheers
Respect. The work you guys do keeps Australia running. You get such little respect from car drivers, the government, police etc it's amazing that we run as a country at all
@@RoadTrainAdventures Yes that is understandable but where I work (in the mines) it is because they want to hide their own incompetence and poor behaviour. As Australians we need to stand up, draw a line and make sure that our society is for us and our families benefit first and foremost and not just for the Rhinehearts and Forrests,
To be honest. I don't think these companies are so worried about doing something wrong but more that something might happen, by mistake, and then they get in trouble. If course there are others that just don't want anyone to see their operation. Like they're the only ones doing something one way that others will copy, and therefore be a disadvantage if others find out.
New subscriber from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 Australia has some beautiful country views and the Australian trucks are absolutely awesome, retired trucker of 44 years.
Beautiful video! I really like how professional your videos are with all the camera angles and drone photo etc. Since I’m very into Australian trucking I’m learning a lot of your videos. Drive safe!
I completely 100% loathe music in any YT video but you have a presence that I truly enjoyed through out the video. Very interesting and well made and I want to thank you for the time it takes to capture, edit and UL these videos for me to watch :)
Hi from Castlemaine ,Ireland where Jack Duggan the Wild Colonial Boy was born!!!!! This is my first time seeing anything on utube about Australia,i will be back.
Really interesting and informative and beaut filming especially with the drone shots, I am not a truckie but I love trucks especially the classics and Australia’s transportation history including trains, autos & bikes, haven’t crossed the Nullarbor for a few decades now but did do from Melbourne to Perth many, many times from the Early 1970’s starting when there was the unmade section between Eucla and Ceduna before they sealed and saw a lot of damage to vehicles from holed petrol tank to front end collapse on this section and also to a broken timing chain on my XP Falcon Hardtop between Norseman & Balladonia mid winter and getting towed back to Norseman By a young bloke in a 48 Buick straight eight! Those were the days if anything is going to go wrong at shitters ditch Murphy’s law takes over and it always happened on the Nullarbor! I also did a few round trips on my motorcycle back in 74 on my Kawasaki Mach 3 which went surprisingly trouble free for a hot rod 2 stroke triple but in those days you didn’t really have to worry about cops and radar just Kangaroos and other critters so a high speed was the order of the day and to stop those plugs oiling up on the stroker! Mixed with a bit of youthful risk taking, I’d invariably always get pulled over coming in to Perth for some reason but never on the highway, memories!
I've done the trip to Perth a few times in the late1980s to early 90s .. Also been to nth Queensland a few times delivering to mines. Lovely country up there. I've given up interstate now but i had 30 years travelling this wonderful country. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very kindly for this trip, and taking time to film. I live on East Coast, originally country NSW and now Brisbane. I have driven Perth to East, after taking train west. I have been to Longreach also, for a wedding many years ago. 2000 actuly. Realy enjoyed this run. Take care, and stay safe.
Great job on the video thanks for sharing. This one just came up in my recommendations. Many years ago now I drove overhead cranes at the Steelworks at Port Kembla loading steel plate so this was a real treat specially after touring this great country. It always amazes me how many people don’t get how big this country is or the fact that with the move to EVs 😂🤣😂 People think that Diesel trucks are becoming extinct. Anyway thanks again. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A great show. Most of us don't realise what long distance truck drivers have to cope with doing their daily drives. My arse gets sore after 3 hrs driving a luxury car, i don't know how you guys ( gals ) can do this job day in day out. Keep up the great shows.
People say it's pretty dangerous driving trucks down here I spose due to just how isolated U find yourself at times and not to mention camels to worry bout hitting but I reckon driving trucks in the mountains is a heck are f a lot more dangerous.
Thank you for a wonderful video. I've been to Australia 🇦🇺 twice, goldcoast area. If I'd of known what Australia 🇦🇺 was when I was 20 ish I'd would have packed my bag. Not for the adventure but the way of life. You were talking about the log book 📖 🙄 we here in Ireland 🇮🇪 and Europe have a tachograph card . If you were stuck in traffic, you can watch that clock run out even a few miles to your stop. No grey area so don't complain and DON'T let the tachograph in or your days on the road will increase. I've subscribed so I'll let you lead us across your wonderful country and I'll pray I'll get back there again. Keep the rubber side down 👍
Thanks Eugene. Yeah I've heard about the tachograph card. Sounds like a bad deal. They are bringing in electronic wheel diaries here. They haven't been taken up by many companies yet but the government is pushing for it. More dodgy systems that fails us drivers.
@@RoadTrainAdventures put your card in, your clocked in . 4 and a half hour driving you must take a 45 minute break. Another 4 and a half hour driving , finished but you can add another hour driving after another 45 minute break but this extra hour must be given back. Now if you are in traffic or multi drop ,"working time directive " comes into play. We have to have the 45 minute break taken before your 6 hours of work even though you might have driven only 2 , 3, or 4 hours. It depends which one comes into play. You plan your day aiming for some where to pull in. With our working hours 2 to 3 day trip will be extended to 4 at least . Who is going to pay for the extra day. I've looked at 2 more videos. Like the fact you don't have Aires and graces like some other videos or the over acting. Keep it safe out there. There's a truck driver heading out to Australia 🇦🇺 in the new year. He has written a few songs. Truckin, farming.... He is a character knows how to get the crowd going. Look him up . Marty Mone . Songs; slip the clutch. Or hit the diff. Look him up on utube Keep it safe. Catch you on the flip
Great content. The property tour was a great way link what you do and how important it is. Awesome footage of the outback to and what you do to. In your day.
Hi there! I’m just very new to your channel and I like your production values and the quality of camera work. Speaking from the point of view of a retired documentary maker and Media Studies teacher, your shots can be truly beautiful and highly informative of the Australian countryside and trucking business. May I please offer this piece of encouragement for future videos- as your camera work is of a high standard, your takes can be run for at least twice as long as you are having in this video. These images of Australia are utterly beautiful and deeply inspiring, romantic even at times. Please, don’t be afraid to edit in much longer shots as they are beautiful to watch. Also, your comments about your loading and unloading would be highly insightful for those of us that love travelling but don’t get enough of an opportunity to hit the road. Cheers from a country boy living in the city. (Melbourne!)
Thanks Stephen. I spent the weekend with my family in Melbourne. I keep each shot quick or less than 5 seconds as most people will leave watching the video unless it's punchy. I hear what you're saying and whilst you'd like longer shots of the scenery, other people don't care and will then move on to another video.
really loved this vid .. I've been to Kewdale lol, but not all the in-between remote places, so was nice to drive thru there with you. Will keep watching more to see where you take us all. thanks mate.
Amazing vid sir. The beautiful landscapes of Australia are mesmerising. I heard the saying that everything in Australia are trying to kill you but that doesn't bother me much lol. Your rig is awesome man. You make trucking looks fun and stress free. Cheers and be safe mate.
I DROVE SEMI TRUCK HERE IN THE USA AND CANADA FOR OVER 40 YEARS. I HAVE OFTEN WANTED TO GO TO AUSTRAILA TO SEE THE ROAD TRAINS. I HAVE DOUBLES EXPERIANCE BUT THEY WERE 28 FOOTERS
So insightful, great video. Always so fasinating passing road trains, a bit scary, specially on the roads where there are no shoulder, and 130(I'm looking at you NT). Mad respect for the work!
Awesome Video John really interested in road trains and what you guys do, great insight into the job, keep up the great work mate, stay safe look forward to the next adventure 👍🤟👌
What a lovely video. Really enjoyed that. Subscribed! Liked seeing the old machinery on the farms. Had a look on why there isn’t a trans-Australian rail infrastructure. There seems to be different gauges and remote farms that would need trucks anyways. Will watch more. Keep on trucking!
Love the truck and find your job very interesting. I used to drive cars for car rental companies from one major town to another. Love the experience and road. PS: Im from south africa
Pretty much the same size as the continental United states but with a lot less people and the second largest desert in the world smack dab in the middle.
Thanks for sharing. Your channel just popped up. I see the Roos are as coordinated than the Caribou in the Yukon and Alaska. They always zag when they should have zigged. 😂
Wow... that's amazing! I found your channel tonight and I really enjoyed this video. It's fascinating watching what you do and the distances you cover are mind blowing. Your channel shows it how it is and doesn't over dramatise everything like say 'Outback Truckers' would do. This is why I watch RU-vid and not TV. Thanks for making the effort to make your videos and 'Hi' from the UK.
Awesome video! I’m a new subscriber and a retired tractor-trailer owner-operator here in the United States. I have always been fascinated by your Road Trains and to just see them up close was on my “ bucket list”. However, that’s one item I’ll just have to enjoy through your videos. The trip to Australia itself pretty much fatigues me to even give it serious thought ! But I think I would love Australia and I’ve always admired you Aussies ! Love from America and please excuse our current president, who is truly a village idiot surrounded by what seems like a group of spoiled, insolent teenagers.
People from Britain cone here and expect it to be a lot more English inspired as we are a former colony and Commonwealth member but the Brits are a lot of the time taken aback at how much more we are like U Americans and even Americans who make it down here say it's the same in a lot of ways but different however that works .
Apart from the incorrect titles..describing Stations as Farms...and Homesteads as Farmhouse... Don't be discouraged..Just sounds so foreign. ... Enjoyable footage and good to watch. Good luck with the Log Book series...A good idea.! .
Agree with you totally with not eating in the cab it’s where you work but I always carried a stove and food for emergencies they always arise when you don’t want them and fail to prepare, prepare to fail fyi good luck with your career I choose it because of freedom and every day as something different
