This video is not sponsored, I am an Indiegogo preorder customer.
The video is missing the damper part as the battery ran out while filming, but the official roadrunner channel already has a guide on how to install the damper and it's well made so you can just take a look at that.
Plus, at least for me, the toolkits didn't include a wrench needed to install a damper (for M8 nuts) so be sure to have your own ready (preferably adjustable), so as the fender (also nuts). I used my own tools.

stem attachment reminds me of the Nami Burn E 2 Max which I like. Love that it comes with PMTs!! All brands should. Great point with where water can get in and I bet that was overlooked by the company I'm sure.

I wanted to get this, since I have the gtr and inmotion but idk after that QC. Seeing as he supposedly took each scooter to check them. Yet you get a damaged 4k scooter. The glue all over , and damaged luminor is unacceptable. It looks good , but also that rats nest of wires.. unacceptable. After seeing the RS and gtr controller setup and no crazy wires, I never want another rats nest.

Nice scooter. I have the Obarter X7 8,000w 14inch tires, 12inch display screen, 60v 60ah battery and weights 130. I got 70 miles on a single charge with one motor turn off.

I have the same dent on the kick plate. There are no scratches or dings on the lumilor, though, and I dont see any of that glue stuff on the side. The power button and dual motor buttons are already worn off in just 50 miles of riding. My left handlebar end piece fell off, and I had to glue it back on. Also, the rear motor wire was zip tied so close to the motor that the valve stem was hitting it, making a click every rotation. Had to just go without the zip ties cause once you cinch them down, it pulls the wire towards the hub. One suggestion: I took the stock headlight off, and then you can run the wires coming out of the stem behind the headlight. It looks a little cleaner and helped me get that plug thing where the wires come out of the stem back in cause mine was out like yours. I agree with you. This thing rides sweet. They picked great components, but they really missed the ball on the little stuff. The owner said they did a second quality control check, I dont believe it. I think that unboxing in the vegas warehouse caused more harm than good. For 4k, it should be perfect, and it is not. And I had no idea we got cheated on the tubed tires. Where was that memo? Lol. Anyway, early adopters get burned always, but it is still fun to ride. I dont know that they have me as a long-term customer. I think other brands are going to easily surpass this bar. But there is not a whole lot of competition in this high-end space yet. Waiting to see the rider guide review. I think he is going to expose some of these rushed decisions and design choices like the kickplate angle.

The way how they handled QC was almost like buying a second handed $4799 scooter at the used price of 4k. and at that point it makes sense. but 4k brand new with this condition is a bit off. The idea was great, the way how they've put everything together was great, but the actual product for these early batches are like prototypes that came straight out from someone's garage. I can definitely see if other brands released their next generation, they are going to have way better finish and overall more polished design. Afterall, it's the roadrunner's first attempt and we all know what an early adapter means. They mentioned about the RX6, which I assume is going to be 10in 60v 60mph scooter based on their marketing strategy, will have a better finish and probably address all the problems with the RX7. and then just like how the RS5+/Max had a bunch of upgrades, I'd expect an RX7+ that will make the original RX7 look obsolete. I agree with you, I can't say for sure if I will be their long term customer, but still, I can't deny the fact that this was the most interesting scooter in 2024. If I really wanted something finished and ready to go, nami burn e2 max or the inmotion rs may have been my choice. Good thing the RX7 doesn't have mechanical/functional flaws (yet) and mostly cosmetic issues.

@@joshuadhyatt I was asking people about it and going to make another video but mine moves around a bit with the stem tightened all the way. the stem and the wheel doesn't allign. turning the handlebar beyond where it stops causes the stem to rotate

@@joshuadhyatt Did you just hand tight the collar or did you use the strap wrench tool? I have brought this up in feedback to Roadrunner. There is slight play in the stem if I just hand tight that Steel Collar. But if I use the strap wrench, hold the handle bar tight, and give it the beans, it is noticably more secure than just hand tightening it.

@@NabiCook yeh I noticed this as well. If you get after it with the strap wrench it minimizes that play. But it is both forward and backward play (like just pushing on it) and some rotational play (where the bars are moving but the tire is not). My suggestion is that a special wrench be made to help us get better leverage on that collar. The tighter we can get it the better and the strap wrench can only do so much.

I've waited long enough. I'm 40 and have been wanting a bad ass electric scooter for many moons! However, I kept on waiting and waiting because I didn't want some cheap skate bullshit scooter that can only go 5 miles (or less) and die on me! I didn't realize the scooter game has come along this far since the last time I was looking into electric scooters about 10 years ago! Before doing some research if you were to ask me what's the fastest electric scooter on the market I would've assumed 30-35 mph at most! This thing is a damn beast! I've always been against motorcycles because I've had too many friends/family die on them! Plus I don't like the fact that no matter how safe you ride on a bike you always have people around you that aren't paying attention. I'd prefer smashing this on the bike trails we have out here rather than actual roads though! I'd rather eliminate other terrible drivers all together! We have some awesome paved trails out here where I live that go from my apartment complex, all the way into downtown where the trails run along a river and to a lake! It'll be a blast for sure!

The Kukirin G4 Max might make it to the USA... I have my eye on that one. I really like my friend's G3 Pro, and the G4 max is a dual stem. No word on a USA release yet though...

Great review. I really like the intermittent flashing handlebar lights. I just bought the OG STORM which was on sale. Like you, I needed additional headlights, which I bought from “Ginger On Wheels” PEV store. Having owned 3 NanRobot scooters, I’d been waiting for RoadRunner to put something out, like this. The owner of RR is fantastic, btw. As fate would have it, my scooter went on sale back in January (before the 7 came out). I get around 55 mph, which is fine and the DualTron build quality is excellent (minus stem-creak😂), so I’m happy. Good luck with the scooter. I see that you’re the kind of person that will give it the care it deserves😊

Yeh, I can attest to the light being underwhelming. He talked the kickstand up as well, and I have already dumped the scooter because it can roll forward under its own weight on a slight slope. The stand is not spring-loaded enough to stay deployed. The kickstand on my 800 dollar bicycle is better and much tighter when deployed. Awesome ride, though, so far.

I’ve been so excited about this scooter & looked forward to the reviews. So far not heard any issues with performance, but I do like the fine details so will be good to see how Roadrunner deals with the cosmetic issues. Hopefully any parts damaged will be sent out free of charge within a reasonable timeframe as this would really frustrate me after spending 💰 💰….. it should arrive perfect. Nice colour display but thought it might have the NFC feature. Teverun style controllers too . Nice Scooter 🛴 🔥🔵

Paul from Electric Sccoter Guide had a speedo that was under estimating the true speed. He recommended we turn down P0 to 9 inch wheel diameter. Going to give that a try today.

The speedometer being off by 15-30% has been an issue since their earliest iterations of the RS5. I changed the wheel size in settings to make my RS5 Max closer but it's still off. I can't imagine why the owner / designers haven't addressed this yet. They're one of the few, well known scooter brands that are missing an accurate speed display by more than 10%. It's a bit of insight into Roadrunner's ability to recognize, troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.

I think that filter strap thingy is to use to tighten down that chrome part of the stem or to loosen it if it becomes to tight to hand turn, maybe.

I hope the second shipment is not going to have any cosmetic issues and better equipped, and not them unboxed and re-boxed a bunch of time I paid for the shipping insurance if I noticed anything, I will make sure to be aware of it. $4k for a scooter should at least have No cosmetic imperfection

Your a really good reviewer! Seriously you hit all the right points and know exactly what your talking about! Its a shame the fit and finish is so sub par on the RX7. They used quality components but kind of fell on their face with the execution. Its a great scooter for sure, but not up to the quality of that $4k price point in my opinion. $3k is more realistic of a price for it. It really should have came with custom in house designed controllers and better cable management and waterproofing for what they are charging. Still your going to have a ton of fun with it!

Just checked my steering damper mount and that front big bolt was completely loose after 150 miles. Guys, this mount needs blue loctite for the two bolts that join the mount to the scooter arm. There should have been something for that front bolt, either a lockwasher or the suggestion of loctite at the very least. Please check your steering damper every so often. Nabi, if you make another video about the play in the stem, you could include this as well. How is yours holding up?

They're worried about damage to steel fenders so they transfer that responsibility to the poor customer, meanwhile the Luminor is getting hammered in packaging / handling / shipping. That's unbelievable honestly. The tubed tires have to be another joke. Every now and then I get something right and I feel so fortunate that I didn't lay down my money for this disappointment.

I hope that Dale guy reads this comment and other initial early reviews. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that he and his team did a QC inspection and yet your scooter and others were allowed to be released with damages. If we were talking about a $500 scooter, I think expectations would be tamer, but this is a $4,000 scooter and you and others who received damaged scooters shouldn't happen in the first place. The damage to your kick plate, to the lumilor, and the extra silicone/glue that was apparent on the deck and the nut underneath the rubber cap is atrocious. Dale and company should be ashamed of themselves. Shame on you guys for releasing this crap to your customers who paid good money. I'm giving a thumb up to this video but I wish I could give a thumb down to the scooter. Thank you for taking your time to create this video. It was very helpful. I have a few questions if you don't mind answering? 1) Remember on their original website listing, it mentioned that this scooter was capable of reach 30 MPH from a dead start in under 3 seconds. Did you get a sense of that? 2) Your brakes seem to be squealing a lot. Is that normal? 3) Have you contacted Roadrunner scooters regarding your cosmetic damages? If so, what were there response? 4) How's the length of the handlebar?

1. like I said with the settings, I can only set to 1 for the acceleration and I can't tell if thats because of the pmt's or just weaker acceleration, but I'm getting way less wheel spins than klima. Klima on turbo wants to launch out, RX7 atm gradually increases speed with way much noticable power (but minimal wheel spin) Im going to have to test it out. I'll probably film it today. 2. its normal for disk brakes, they can be annoying but it really is just two metals scrubbing against each other. Brand new rotors have flat shiny surface, which makes it even easier to generate those squeaky noises. you can change pads to resin based which is quieter but wears out fast or metallic based which is louder but long lasting. 3. not yet, will probably do. 4. handle bar is enough for me (Im a small guy) and I've seen complaints about it not being wider. If you are a big guy, then it might be little short. At least its an easy component to replace/customize.

As someone who also waited 6 months for this scooter, (and yes my kick plate has a dent, and I have a broken dampener) I feel a lot of these comments are pretty harsh. This is a really really really nice scooter! It's fast as heck, smooth, has amazing brakes, fantastic tires, awesome battery. The throttle is the best thumb throttle I've tried, with no dead zone, and a great feel to it! It has a huge usable deck, and is basically everything I hoped it would be. Yes, my main gripe is probably the tubes in the tires, it's not a deal breaker but does kinda suck. All that said, I understand the disappointment with some cosmetic defects, it sucks. But..... I kinda feel Dale was in a danged if you do, danged if you don't situation in regards to all the flack he would have gotten had he delayed this even more. I know I was super anxious to receive this scooter, and had he said do you want it now or in two months once we get the tubeless tires and some other little things worked out, I 100 percent would have said give it to me now!!

@@molecricket62 you get two tracking numbers, one for the scooter and one for the battery. you can tell by the weight on shipping details, 145lbs is the rx7, 35lbs is the battery. It takes upto 1-2 business days for the shipping information to get start updating, but as long as roadrunner confirms that the scooter was shipped, I'd check with the carrier

I got it on aliexpress. I recommend circular or larger ones. its quite tiny for high speeds and has narrow fov than I wanted.

it has a built in turn signals but really is just one of the tail lights blinking. All yellow/red flashing lights I have on my scooter are aftermarket lights

Definitely don't like that I have to carry this scooter up 11 steps. Lost my 1st deck key riding yesterday. Luckily I had the extra one somewhere else. So far fastest I got up to was 65 mph on the display.I weigh 210. Gear 3 gets your attention fast! Gear 2 was my favorite of the 3. Also had a dent on the kick plate. Thank you so much for the review.

@@NabiCook That is the fastest so far. I went 75 miles already. Also my deck lid does not stay up on it's own. You have to manually hold it and place the battery inside at the same time.

8:00 All the shipping / packing damage is unacceptable on a $4k scooter. It seems everyone has the dent or scratch on the kickplate. The black base finish around the stem / front wheel support is uneven, chalky and has streaks of clear coat or adhesive smearing and dripping across the surface. The rat's next of wiring looks like it would be home on a $1000 dual motor "super scooter" from Amazon, not a premium, $4000 ride. I can hardly belief how rough the scooter looks in the close up shots. I'd box the thing up and send it right back to them. From what I'm seeing, the RX7 falls well behind in quality compared to the Inmotion, Nami's and even some of the Kaabo's. I'm an RS5 Max owner and this video was hard to watch. So glad that I didn't order one of these. Some great idea's but poor execution. I'll wait until / if they get their shit together.

Your in the States, why is your cell speed on kph if your speedometer is in accurate? Also the strap wrench is for the large stem nut to help tighten all the way down.

haha good question. Before I decided to make a review, I was filming to share it with my friends living outside the US, and they use kph. But then towards the end I decided to make a review and changed the gps to mph, which I ended up with most of the footage being in kph. Ah yes I was told by the other guy for the use, unfortunately with the stem nut tightened using the strap wrench, the stem still has a slight play to it which I addressed it in my new video.

Nami is generally considered and recommended as a good brand in scooters. I never tried burn e2 max, so I can't say it for sure. I do have Klima, which like I said, the ride quality on Klima is better, and the performance on the RX7 is better.

Usually wobbling happens on its own at high at high speeds, when certain scooters get to certain speeds they start wobbling only on when you go for your high speed test that's when I'll be concerned, in which I'm not sure if you tried to take it to the highest speed in this video or not. What you were doing was called carving

yeah more like stability testing while carving, but I said wobble. the intro is gps 64mph for the top speed. it doesn't wobble on its own, but does get unstable quickly when you shake it (which pretty much is for most scooters)

The air vents r meant to be cut off not open access to the battery it’s self the idea is to keep it cool not expose it to water/bacteria/dirt the seal is obviously there to keep water out as well that’s the idea of a water resistant scooter but I understand not every one understands how things work if ofc u didn’t engineer it ur self now , a good honest review is wat we should expect out of u but ur doin to much now

addressed in my second video, 1. the rubber seal is inefficient in heat transfer but there is also a gap between the deck and cover, also between the battery. I have a pc thats more expensive than this scooter and experiences building custom loop water cooling builds, knowing what an effecient cooling design should look like. it plays minimum to zero role. I commented as better than nothing, but not as effective as it sounds like. 2. addressed in the video, the seal does not provide front coverage and the controller compartment is not water tight. As my area start to get some rain, I get water droplets getting closer to the weak spots I mentioned. If I hit a puddle by an accident its a game over. you don't advertise such design as ip66, unless you know what an IP rating is. 3. you dont need a degree in mechanical engineering just to understand that rubber and air gaps insulate heat. your tumbler has literally the same design, metal-gap-metal. this scooter has an air gap between the cover and the battery, and the controller heat are spread through the bottom (where there is no heatsink), not the top. there's already instances of riders frying up their controllers. 4. this is a prime example of an honest review, revealing every single aspect of the product so that the viewers can decide. a sponsored/dishonest review will simply call it an amazing scooter, drop an affiliate link, and recommend to buy one - which I never did.

Finally got my phone mounted and yeh. Scooter speedo is wayyy off. I knew I didnt touch 71 lol... Im way too fat for that. At 70 on the scooter its probably like mid to low 50s on gps. Not that someone light cant do it... but the speedo is embarrassing off lol.

it's about 30% off. I'm figuring out ways to make it accurate. GPS 60 shows around 80 on speedo

@@jabo5779 I figured out. I found it to be dead on spot with the gps when using 85 for going around 40mph, only 1-2 mph difference at most. it might be off going faster, but I can say for sure tune P0 around 85-90 and you'll have accurate readings.

no, and they are tubed. Making it tubeless and injecting a self healing sealant could turn them into self healing tires tho.

I never understood why anyone would need s display if they'd let you into the settings ? You could just use a phone to do everything! I have 2 Fardiver nd 84530s on my footscooter, and will never need a display! Its all bluetooth 5

What do you think the TRUE top speed is, roadrunner is known for fudging their numbers. They claim 70 I say way closer to 60.

I weigh 130lbs, and I was able to hit 64mph with a bit more throttle left (~95A discharge out of 110A max) I wasn't even bending down but standing straight. So its clear that there's much more headroom left to go faster. Flat road without headwind seems easy to hit at least 68mph, I'd say 70mph is reasonable if you are a light rider maybe below 160lbs. Now heavy rider is a different story and it applies to all scooters, but purely from a marketing perspective I see that they were trying to match with the number "7" which is the RX7, 70mph top speed, 70mi range. 70 is for sure not going to be for everyone, even higher voltage scooters struggle time to time to hit 70. Its more like a peak speed you can reach and not sustainable speed you can casually go 24/7. Realistically, I'd say you can casually hit 65-68mph if you are not too heavy, even if you are, 60+ should be easy. So yeah take it as "upto 70" where it requires all conditions to be met.

The tires were supposed to be tubeless. The first batch will be split rim with tubes Second batch will be tubeless

yeah perhaps there could be other ways to modify the scooter into tubeless, but it sucks that it didnt come as stock. Im sure there are bunch of compatible parts out there in China

I feel like first batch owners should get a discount on a conversion kit or something. I think a lot of us were in the dark on the tubes. But I take it going tubeless requires a different motor design? Not really sure how to get to tubeless from here. But the tires perform great so far, so I feel like maybe it is not that big of a deal.

@@jabo5779 it could be as simple as just a valve swap to a complete rim replacement. The rim needs to be able to airtight, so as to be compatible with tubeless valves. For example, there are some dualtron tubeless rims on aliexpress for 11in at about 20-30 bucks, the valves would be another 10 bucks. So if something like those are compatible, both wheels would be a minimum of +$50 upgrade if the rim is not compatible, if the rim is compatible, then just pull out the tube and a valve swap.

What a piece of crap of scooter, the only two things i give props is the Magura breaks and pmt tires, other then that inside all those wires what a mess.
