@@codydavidyates72 I THINK it has to do with how Calgary was the first team to give Martin St. Louis a crack in the NHL (He was never drafted), and didn't renew his contract in 2000. He was picked up by Tampa Bay as a UFA and was integral in Tampa Bay's illegitimate 2004 Cup win..

While we may not be feeling the pain of trading for Jeannot, we will start to feel the pain of missing out on the prospects we aren’t drafting because we traded away those picks. I know many people were not happy with the Bogo trade, and certainly for only a 2025 7th; however, he was an unproductive D-man with an $850k cap hit and his last year before UFA. So I actually like the move and we only retained about $160k of his cap. Fortunately, Calvin de Haan has started to step up in his place at only a $775k cap hit. Unfortunately, we’re going to either have to start moving guys or leave them in UFA if we want to resign or extend players like Steven Stamkos (2024 UFA) and Victor Hedman (2025 UFA). The salary cap has already caught up with us and it’s showing this season. At this rate, Brisebois is going to have to start making moves like he did with Bogo, but probably with more beloved players, especially if the team isn’t producing the way it should, which we’ve seen hints of this season. The Lightning management knows that this team and this core is loved by fans, but at the same time, they are running a business, and these decisions are going to have to be made (like Killorn, Perry, Maroon, and Colton last offseason). It’s been very exciting watching this team play, celebrating the Cup runs and boat parades, but it’s just not going to be sustainable for the years ahead, in my eyes.

Yea LA fans in general are truly awful, Kings fans IMO are the least violent out of all the LA fanbases. Sorry you had a sort of bad experience with a Kings fan though, for me I've only had good interactions with Sharks fans

@@LAHockeyMaxx No need to apologize (unless you were the guy...were you at game 4 in 2014 between the Sharks and Kings? =D ). The vast majority of fans at every arena are going to be at worst neutral (I count a bit of heckling as still being neutral because there's nothing wrong with that) and a good number of them will be friendly. At the same time, every fanbase has a few jerks who are going to take things too far.
