I just bought the Cobia 500 mostly for reef hunting but I’d love to see how far I can push it. Would you recommend a bungee for it ? Could it also be used with a second 16mm 48cm rubber and maybe more mono wraps for shooting bigger further fish ? Would love to hear your advise.
No problem using a gun bungee. I would not try power it up, you will over power the spear. To go double rubber you would need to increase the spear diameter.
Hey Rob, I am using the Scorpia 700 (without the rail). After adding a shark clip, 40 m reel and the action camera setup the buoyancy is negative, so I was thinking what can be done to fix that, maybe switching the aluminium barrel to a carbon one?
The carbon will have more Buoyancy but not that much, probably not enough. A longer barrel will improve this. There is not a real big difference between the 700 and the 800. What length spear and or diameter are you using?
@@AleksPetrovProspecting Ok, that is already as light as possible. Only other way is to go to one of our Timberline barrels that have the timber side stocks.
