Rob you rock. We’re so proud of you and the tutorials you give us. Your creativity and fun are contagious and following you is always a great adventure. Always look forward to your videos.
I stayed up until midnight watching you stay up all night to kindly lift the work load of your coworker. Loved the video, the quilt and have enjoyed your videos for years!
Love you and your studio ❤, keep doing what you're doing, art and sewing art help my DXS, as well, and my grief, I truly am Thankful, lots of ❤ Love and appreciation. ❤
“Well” done! Beautiful quilt in one overnight sewing session!!! Fantastic! Looking forward to watching your new tutorials! The Shop looks huge even in the dark!!!🤩 Best wishes on your new endeavor 🥳
I love that pattern and ordered the book. I started quilting because my Vietnam veteran started his journey of dealing with Agent Orange poisoning. Taking care of him, I needed a stress outlet. Quilting did the trick. I sew every day, one way or another. He passed 2 1/2 years ago but I am still quilting. Thank you .
Rob you are so fun and talented! I enjoyed your dark video, I thought it was a creative way to entertain. I kept waiting for the police to show up lol. Kudos to you for your Random Act of Kindness. Congrats on being a part of the Stitchin' Heaven Team. Can't wait to see more videos from you.
I am not a quilter and unfamiliar with all the machines and techniques, but even I could see how he was doing everything and the binding technique. I am familiar with sewing and stitching and cleaning my machine, an old Singer...and I love it. Such a kind thing for you to have done...overnight...what a lot of work and that beautiful freehand swirling stitch on that Bernini was really gorgeous!🌟❤️
You make so many of us happy with your enthusiasm and willingness to open up about the struggles that come.with sobriety. This was such a lovely thing for you to do and the project is simple amazing. (She picked you some fabulous fabrics to work with too!) Keep them coming. I have a list of nexts (as soon as the crazy subsides around here( I believe this one has to move up the ranks.
Had my own wonderful up all night sewing experience on the eve of Grandma's 90th birthday party. All the family were instructed to bring in 10 inch blocks with a photo on them and I brought in my finished evergreen tree strip pieced front. Just assemble and go right? Nope. Family are not sewers so no blocks showed up just cool fabric photos. All evening I sewed them into the blocks and the family drank wine and visited and encouraged me along. LOL. Then no quilting started until 11PM. Guess I had better stay at my auntie's house and learn her gorgeous PFAFF machine, An experienced night shift nurse from way back I did get into the zone and had it ready by about 4 AM then slept very soundly on the sofa. Success!!! That was so fun.
Wow what a beautiful thing to do. I wish Someone would be Kind to me. Just out of the blue. I've just lost my mum to Lung cancer and it would be great if I could afford to get the fabrics and the Pattern to make the same quilt as you have just done. Please keep up the great work. Happy Stitching everyone. And I'm sending you Crafting hugs all the way from over here in the UK. 🇬🇧💞💞💞💞
We are sew excited to see Rob joining Stitchin Heaven. We love his creativity, contagious enthusiasm, and thoughtfulness. Great video! We enjoyed the project and a sneak peak of the shop. We look forward to more Sew Well videos! 😀👍❤️
Thank you for sharing your story. I am relatively new to your videos and really enjoy your energy and fun personality!! I’m feeling the need for a road trip one day so I can experience Stitchin’ Heaven in person. I promise I won’t break in!!! ❤
Love it!!! Sew much fun!!! I love making things for friends & others. I made my stylist a tote bag and she was thrilled - no one had ever made her a gift before. 😍
Not the heat, it's the humidity! So felt for you in that stealth jacket. Hopin' the a/c was working. Brutal heat this summer in Texas. Enjoyed the personal moments, too. Continue to enjoy the journey. 💝
This was AMAZING video! I have wanted to learn about this since I first saw your show, and now I am getting the kit! I am a color junkie, and this Quilt makes my heart SING!
Rob I cannot believe you did that entire quilt in 24 hours!!! It wasn’t an easy quilt with all those colors!! I also was amazed at how easy your binding went on without doing the pressing to one side and tacking it down, but it turned out perfect!!! My husband and I always try to pay it forward with random acts of kindness when we’re at restaurants by paying for someone’s meal. The best one I ever did was in the grocery store and a woman was in front of me and didn’t have enough money so she was asking the checker to take this and that off, so I just told the checker to put everything back on and gave the woman $50 to cover the rest of the bill and leave a little. She was very thankful, but her daughter who was about 5 was truly happy she got her ice cream!!! Pay it forward!! It definitely comes back to you!
Rob, you're amazing. I'm glad to learn where you are these days. If you're ever planning a vacation in Idaho, let me know. I own a little quilt shop and it's a one person operation, so I'm always behind and stressed. 😂 There's a park across the street from me where your kids could play, and an airbnb across the street from that... in case you ever want to break into another quilt shop, while your family is sleeping... I'll let you know where to find the key!! 🥰
Nice job. A random act of kindness I received was a lap quilt I won a few months after my hubby passed. It was like getting a quilty hug when I needed one. It was in floral prints purples with greens which are my fave’s.
I thought this was hilarious. I wish someone would break into my sewing room and make me a quilt. I might just have to make a visit to this store. My daughter moved to Ft. Worth and I make the trek down at least once a month. I live northeast of Tulsa, so it's about a 5 hour drive. What's another hour or two? I would love to meet Rob. He's just a great guy.
Your adventure reminds me of a weekend accreditation visit to our school. We worked all day, taught adult classes in the evening, then after that we worked on fixing the paperwork that the team had ready for us. The school security came to the office window, some where around 12 AM, we told them call the principal, we had work to get done!. Saturday and Sunday were more work and reworking paperwork. Needless to say, we were exhausted, but we got the job done! Congratulations on your new endevors! I've enjoyed your videos since your M* days!
Rob, I love your enthusiasm. Keep talking about sobriety!! Quilting is therapy for many of us. I've watched this a couple of times. The first time was before I bought the book, the second time was after I bought the book. I'm a little confused because the book mentions 14 different fabrics. (15 with the single background). I made a list of your fabrics combinations and came up with 16 fabrics per this video. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to change out what's in the book and what's on your video. Does Stitchin Heaven provide some kind of pattern for this quilt if you buy the book? That would be so helpful. I LOVE Churn, Churn, Churn from the book too! I've got that up on the wall now. Thank you for clarifying.
Interesting but.... actual lighting would have been better for this video. It would also have been nice to see the reaction to finding the finished quilt. That said. It looks like a nice pattern. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, it was a blast to create. I did resign from MMF and will be bouncing between California and Texas, make sure to follow along so you may swing by for a hug one day
Wish I could have seen what you were doing, every thing except the actual sewing , were to dark to see the detail! Please cut out the acting, and just demonstrate the quilting! ~~joyce
I never prewash for quilts, only garments that I do want the fabric to shrink in the future. I also do not wash most of my quilts, so there is no need to wash and press the fabric before I start.
Rob, I do love your shows and quilting, but this video you're doing in the dark is the worst I have ever seen you do! I've watched half of it and totally got bored. Man, i know you can do better than this. this is just my thoughts.
