@@stevenmark4407 you're lying. None of them cats ripped Jokic in this year's playoffs. Not one time did you hear anyone in the media say Jokic is to blame for getting outplayed by the Wolves the first two games in Denver.
@@manofaith751993 Bulls were down 0-2 in the Conference Finals vs the Knicks. Game 3 with the threat of going down 0-3 Jordan was 3/18 fg 16% but his team won . What’s the relevancy of that? Even the best player in the world sometimes has a bad couple of games and needs teammates to step up to get a must win game . You’re wrong that no one in the media criticized Jokic but even if no one did, like what level of criticism do you think he deserved? Were we all supposed to believe because he went down 0-2 that he’s not the best player in the world and last year he got lucky or it was a fluke? Sometimes basketball is more complex than the best player on the losing team deserves all the blame .
They’re still struggling with the fact that a lazy looking white guy who plays generally BELOW the rim is doing this. We saw Larry and loved Larry who did the same, but Larry was American. Don’t doubt that Jokic being a foreigner doesn’t play into the downplaying of his greatness. That goes for Shaq, Perk, Brou, Nick Wright, Skip etc. he’s highly technical with his basketball skills. He’s blue collar in how he plays, he dominates then goes home. It’s a job to him
Keyshawn before game 5 was talking about how he trusted Ant more to pull out a win, and today you had Perk talking about how Brunson was more likely to end his series in 6 over Jokic. It's like, what are we doing here?
@@DavidLee-vp3nr lol, you're being as bad faith as Chris now. People were literally calling Anthony Edwards the second coming of Michael Jordan, how is that not writing Joker off?
No, Chris doesn't want to be associated with the racists that hate Joker for having the same take. But Chris knows that Rob is speaking facts. Gilbert Arenas is a racist.
Yea at this point jokic is entering top 15 greatest player ever cant say that for Embiid hasnt even made it to the conference finals and dont elevate or make his team better like jokic
You also got Stephen A, one of the most recognizable faces on the same network. Then everyone saw Shaq's discrediting of Jokic on the very same announcement directly to his face. Even the hate given to Gobert is purely dont to discredit Joker, because they don't want to acknowledge that he can't be stopped. On the very same game Gobert blocked 3 of AG's dunk attempts and Murray having to spin around in the paint and forced to take tough shots. Jokic made 40 points because he had to be the primary scorer in the paint with AG as second option. The Wolves do have good defense because if the Nuggets played like this vs most other teams, who could block them?
I normally agree with Chris way more than Rob but Chris takes the L here. The way the Nuggets were written off and the disrespect that Jokic has had to endure has been so outrageously ridiculous. Literally 99% of the sports pundits out there have been begging to write off Jokic because they deem him to be aesthetically unpleasant to watch because he does not fit the mold of his contemporaries that were the best in the world before him. Jokic has one of the most beautiful games you will ever see. The way that he inspires his team, the way they flock to him and show up for him. Jokic has the Tom Brady mentality as a pro sports star. It comes from work ethic and humility not pumping his chest or bravado. Tom Brady was never good at taking credit ever. Neither is Jokic. It has been disgraceful the way every show treats this man and his team this entire run as far as I am concerned. Utter disgrace.
I think the league and the "experts" would be thrilled if Jokic just went away, so they could market Jordan-like guys like ant-man as the face of the league. It's pretty obviously biased and disrespectful.
@@ppunch7050 I think he still lowkey hates Jokic but conceded because he knows it's a lost argument. There's a lot of tells like him leading the pitchfork brigade when they went down 0-2 and his refusal to pick the Nuggets in any series lol
If LeBron could be defended as hard as Rob always glazes and defends the Joker, that would add a semblance of fairness and objectivity to the sports media industry. This is the same dude who said he hopes Jake Paul will knock out Mike Tyson. Hmm, just saying.
What? No?!? Shai's the real MVP. Didn't you know? It's not like he's gonna get knocked out of the playoffs by that slow, white, geeky chump Doncic, is it?
No, it wasn't. The Most Valuable Player is the young man on OKC. The best player could be easily Jocik. Two different things. OKC is where they are this year solely because of the impact of that young man. Denver won last year, and their record isn't anything special this year. Also, Minneapolis isn't a very good team. I think some people making mountains out of mole hills. I get thst Jocik lookomg in pigmentation like them means more to some people than it mean to others, but let's try and stick to the topic. Most Valuable Player. Player impact on team success. Not just how great the stats are.
@@jmoney4220 did Steph ever get the hes not worthy of being an MVP? Ever? No. Maybe he got flack for the unanimous MVP. But that was it. No one questioned his MVP status. People call him the greatest PG. Which is absurd to me. He's a SG to me slash combo guard
@@davidhutson2846 I personally don’t think he should have won mvp but that’s a different conversation for a different day.. the point is Rob is saying people wrote off jokic like he wasn’t a good as people make it seem and that’s just not true. People saw the wolves gameplan work for 2 games in a row in the Nuggets building and thought they would win the series. That’s it. That’s not writing off the joker.. that’s picking a team to win a series based on how it’s looking. The best player in the world doesn’t win every single year.
Rob isnt wrong. When the nuggets were down 0-2 you could feel in the comment sections people were already talking trash about jokic winning mvp again. But this guy is proving he is well deserved. And if he can lead denver to back to back titles with 3 mvps in 4 years, he should at #5 or # 4 of greatest centers ever in my opinion
Broussard is not big enough of a name to try to go against the narrative. If he does he'll be incur the wrath of Shaq, Steven A., Perk. So he has to be disingenuous and pretend there is no agenda.
Rob is speaking the truth man, the vibes were in the air, the way people were talking. People want so bad for Jokic to be a fluke, and I honestly dont know why. Hes so awesome
Rob: People are quick to write off Jokic Chris: No because LeBron and Shaq got swept but people didn't write them off. That's the point, people don't write Shaq and Bron off but they don't keep the same energy to Jokic
@@DavidLee-vp3nrliterally everyone. And these were the same people who were slobbing Jimmy Butler's knob just a year or 2 ago and would have never wrote off the Heat. And he's the most overrated player in the history of basketball!!!!
@@MichaelVillarreal-ix5pl Seeing him with a 20 year old at a beach better be careful being rich can only help you but so much specially If you gets caught with pedophilia which alot of these celebs and athletes are getting caught by..
Nah, people did clown Jokic. They saw the defense the Timberwolves played and thought Jokic was overrated for MVP. Gilbert Arenas was on multiple platforms saying that Jokic is the worst MVP in history.
Chris made a good point about Joker's greatest. The guy invented a new position - point center. Watching basketball since the 90's, I never thought that a big could be that skilled.
Rob is completely right again people coming up with bogus arguments etc to act like jokic wasn’t the guy after 2 games let alone if they lost the series lol stop Chris you mine as well bring Nick wright on here
Broushart had pretty much the same predictions regarding the nuggets as Stephen A. Smith, but at least he had the decency to offer apologies. This black carrot top acting dumb like he didn't say them.
12:15 Chris is good when he spars with his First Things First partners. He is charming and a great counter to the horrid nwright. He is, however, outclassed when arguing with Mr. Parker. Rob is G R E A T!!
I ain’t gon lie Chris is starting to get annoying , he just wants to oppose everything Rob is saying , after the first 2 games everyone was doubting the nuggets and jokic
People get defensive when accountability comes for them lol. It’s not thinking the Wolves would win, that’s fine, it was the questions about Jokic being a legit great because the man was down 2-0 in a series. That’s crazy. Just down, not over, just down in a series and Nick Wright wanted to start a whole narrative of breaking down Jokic for the summer. Smh
It's the flashy excitement factor. That's why(I'm a Jordan guy) some people will never come off Jordan as goat because of the flashy excitement aura that Jordan had over LeBron. Also some people feel initially white players aren't as athletic and exciting and for the most part they aren't.
Rob is 1000% correct. Just look at all the videos and comments. People were ready to pounce. Couching it as "will it hurt his" like a question mark makes it ok
Does that not happen with literally every superstar player? You've never heard that expression "build you up to tear you down". Jokic is just the latest participant of this
I love how people don’t count the 2 teams on a 50 plus win pace, clippers were at a 57 win pace, that they beat during the covid shortened season. It’s like some of these guys just have somone else research and just go on air spouting whatever was on the piece of paper that was handed to them without looking into it themselves.
Rob Parker is speaking facts The media has been waiting for the chance to put joker down and remove him as the top player It’s all because he is an international white guy. If joker was African American, the main media would be glazing him like Michael Jordan This is true because Edward’s hasn’t have the resume of joker and they want him to be that guy . They are forcing us to move past joker when we is in his PRIME
Jokic doesn’t care about the MPV or what the media says, the insults about his ability hurt his family and friends so he HAD to shut them up and he really hates to lose so he was extra motivated. He did what the game demanded he do to win which was to score inside the paint.
Chris speaks with so much conviction even when he’s dead wrong. That’s why i watch him on these sports shows. He’s a salesman, he just happens to do sports journalism.
They’ve been disrespecting Jokic ever since his reign started. Former players have questioned how great he is, fans think Embid AND SGA should’ve won mvp over him.. Rob is right, they’re WAITING and looking to discredit this man. He dropped 40 on Rudy’s head and the Gilbert Arena podcast debate if Rudy can even defend instead of just giving Jokic his credit l
rob is right.. i’ve seen so many people on twitter and basketball forums saying the nuggets will get swept and jokic was fraudulent.. people were attempting to discredit his greatness
Let's call it what it is, a lot of the former and current players are being gatekeepy with the league, because a European white guy with a softish looking play-style is giving them the blues and they're too ignorant to see that the man came from a war torn country. He has no fear in his heart. Just because his play style looks finesse, doesn't mean he's soft. It's eating away at them the same way it initially ate away at them about Bird until Bird achieved so much that everyone had to bow down and give respect. There are players from that era who, to this day, will openly admit that players back then doubted Bird because he was white. And Rob is right. They were in a hurry to pile on Steve Nash when he failed to win titles and this one stings more, because Jokic is bringing the hardware that's undeniable.
To all black people please stop the hate against Jokic and Luka , they deserve respect, they just cooking SGA and Antman. NBA is for all race not just black athletes. So please enjoy the cookout
I’m not even black and don’t know wth you talking about dude 😂😂 you over seas accounts infatuated with Americans. Kind of pathetic yall don’t even like yall own sport games 💀
@@nostaljah19 yes, including you. America is disgusted with this behavior. Racism will not end, because obviously most of you are obsessed with entitlement and racism. Paging Shaq, Arenas, KG, SAS, Barkley, everyone
Jokic- the answer to the question, “what if CP3 was 7ft tall?” What Rob is trying to say is that American mostly black basketball fans and commentators are offended that an unathletic Int. player who doesn’t live and breath hoops is dominating the league, especially because of how thoroughly he dominates Lebron and KD. They found “Ant-man” and started to build him as the Black American superstar, and maybe soon the best player in the league, but all of it is wishful thinking. Jokic is doing his best Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and you can throw in some ‘Dream’ and McHale for good measure as well.
@@nostaljah19 Oh, it was there early on....the difference is The Celtics were already so good with Bird from the jump (at the time the biggest turn-around in wins and losses in NBA history in Bird's rookie season) that it couldn't be taken all that seriously. Plus, Bird was already a known commodity from Indiana State's run to the NCAA title game....Jokic was an unknown. But read about how those first Celtics practices Bird's rookie season went....there was definitely doubt even with teammates and a desire to prove that Bird was just a "great white hope" type of overhyped player. Even after Bird had won those 3 MVPs and multiple titles you had the Rodman/Thomas thing after Boston beat Detroit in the ECF with the statement "If he were black, he'd be just another good player" nonsense.
Chris is Buggin… when Shaq made his comments about Jokic on TV, hardly any push-back & people were saying that, He had a Right to make those comments… so that tells you, that the ROOM is on Shaq’s side!
Everybody counted the Nuggets out not Jokic... Jokic IS the Nuggets, him and anyone else capable to join him on that ride. If you count them out you are effectively counting Jokic out. Brou is playing dumb and is histerically yelling as a proof which he always does when he's pressured. Props to Rob, he's so on point lately.
