I call those type of people “must be nice” people. They grind my gears more than any other type of person. They’re so down on themselves for not making anything of their life that they try to bring down other people passive aggressively. My answer to them when they say “it must be nice” or something similar: yes, yes it is nice, it’s the culmination of hard work, a little luck, and a crap ton of experience, maybe you should try it.

Jealousy comes in many forms, my neighbor had a pizza place when I was younger. He had a great year once and bought a big Buick as gift for his hard work. His clients used to call him a big shot or complain that if he could afford a big luxury car he was charging too much. They didn’t see the years of sacrifice and hard work that got him where he was. He was proud of his car and drove it until he passed.

That's the way my grandma is. Any time my parents would get a nice vehicle she'd compliment it and then say, "I hope y'all can make the payments" I've recently had to talk my wife out of this mentality when we got her new Taurus. She wanted a SHO, but wanted to settle for an SEL. I told her we aren't going below Limited. Short story long, there's a black SHO sitting next to my V in my garage right now.

Amen Rob. I spend my money and my time on my stuff. I don't talk down about other people's cheap stuff that falls apart. The second I start spending your money or time, jump right in with your opinion.

A former Navy Seal who did contracting work always bought a Rolex watch, he could use it to barter with guys all over the world he said. Everyone knows what a Rolex is.

There are two things in this world you can't buy... work ethic and class. Either you have it, or you don't.

I love to see someone doing well for themselves. Especially if they got there out of hard work and determination. If you quit spending time being jealous of people and focus on yourself you just may be that person with the new fancy car/watch etc. Appreciate the video.

I know you're right. I live in a small town and I deal with this constantly. half the people don't know what goes on beyond the city limits. everybody talks about how they want to make something of this town, and then fights every bit of change that comes their way. they make fun of me and my truck yet if they only knew how much this truck made me every year, they would understand why I just chuckled and walk on

Those are signs of success and hard work. If that watch makes you feel good about yourself then wear it with a smile. Those people don’t see the hours of overtime you might have had to put in to get the things you want or the things you may have given up or sacrifices you have made to get those things. Enjoy them because you bought it to make yourself happy and not to be flashy but to feel accomplished.

I don't mind someone being succesfull getting fancy stuff. However when i'm at a used car dealership and the salesman is wearing an expensive Rolex i immediately get the feeling i'm being ripped off. Could be they saved up for it for years but to me it comes across as them charging a lot more than what it should be.

I have felt guilty about every new vehicle I have bought. Until I was working on one of our rent houses doing stuff that most people would think they are too good to do. Then I didn’t feel guilty at all. If the bills are all paid and your spouse agrees buy whatever you want and can afford then be proud of it! God bless y’all.

I'm with you about people who hate on people for having nice things. What business is it of theirs what you paid for something or whether you can afford something? Unless they're paying your bills it's not their place to make remarks about what it costs and I have zero qualms telling them that. I tend to feel they are jealous because they don't live a lifestyle that allows them to have nice things--either they truly cannot afford it or they have other financial priorities, etc., and that is not my problem. I've never heard anyone who wouldn't "like to have it" make a remark about what "it" costs.

The issue with "flashy" types is the reputation that it is all fake (on credit, etc). Family friend made a side comment about the new truck and my Dad's buddy just said, "Well, he paid cash and his house is all paid off...think he'll be alright." It wasn't any of their business, but it did shut down that bullshit.

So damn true! Small minded people are, as you say, so short sighted. People are drawn to successful people and visual aids are an important part of that process. As the saying goes “dress for success”. I remember a movie called open range and Robert Duval goes in to the local goods store. He orders some fancy cigars and some chocolate bars. The shop owner says “that’s the best chocolate in the world right there. Duval says, “have you had some? The shop owner replies No, I can’t afford it. Duval then states “we’ll then how do you know it’s the best in the world if you’ve never tasted it. He turns to his partner and says “Imagine that, he’s got the best chocolate in the world sitting right there on the shelf and he’s never tried it. Thanks for another great video. I like many others have seen this attitude many times over the years. A good part of it is envy and passive aggressive behavior coming out. When I see someone that's doing/done well by working hard and making their own luck in my mind I salute them. Those people put it out there and took risks that others weren't willing to take. One of my brothers owns his own company that puts up structural steel. When he first started he struggled like many others. He did well and then the 08 recession hit him and others hard causing him to almost go under. He came out the other side and has done well for a good number of years. None of us realized how close things were until he and his wife shared that during the down turn he didn't draw a pay check and in order to pay his crew they were using credit cards for that purpose so his guys wouldn't take a hit. Your Rolex isn't flashy as much as it's practical given the model. The flashy Rolex watches are EASY to see. You should add one other thing about your watch. If you take care of it you'll be able to sell it for more than you paid if you ever decide to get rid of it. There's not many things we can buy that actually appreciate over time and use.

Yep just went out and paid $10k over sticker on our new 2022 Y62 Nissan patrol.. and when ppl say why I say .. because I got an immediate delivery, didn’t have to wait 12months and it had every option and colour that we wanted.. but main reason.. BECAUSE I WANTED IT AND I HAVE EARNT IT

I can relate, the day I showed up to work in my new Cadillac, a co-worker comes up to me and asks me, "how much are your payments on that". I replied, thats a awfully personal question, and walked away from them.

Same thing happened to me back in 2009 My whole family lives on the same block all of us in separate Row homes I saw my chance when the market fell on its ass and I took it Now I live in a three-quarter million house because I bought very very low and everybody else still lives back in the same neighborhood And they were all the ones in still some to this day telling me I was wrong because They did not want to see my success I own a BMW a Corvette and a Honda all three cars I found fixed up and I drive around as my dailies Still got people in the family hating on me saying why do you need three cars And my answer is this cause I want to

You Do You, I I'll Do Me .. There Is Nothing Wrong With Working Hard, And Having Nice Things... I've Owned Nice Cars, Motorcycles, Etc... I Don't Guilt Trip People For Their Choices.... A Friend Once Sold Me His Rolex Because He Needed The Money.. I Didn't Even Wear It But A Few Times.... When He Asked Why... I Told Him... It's Not My Style.. I'll Keep It. .. Till You Want To Buy It Back .. A Couple Years Later.. He Did .. It Was A Good Investment.

Remember years ago my uncle telling when he bought his first Benz one of old school friends in the old home town, when he came and visited his mother, his old friend spread the story he rented the car to look flash. My Dad always makes comments like this. When I got my 1 year old F150 for under trade in from a buddy of mine, he still wasn't impressed and asked how I was going to afford it, even though he had no idea of my financial situation.

I just sent this to my mom because you just described her to a T. Telling me, "must be nice to be rich" if I bought a $35,000 car. In the meantime the master bedroom in her house was bigger than the entire 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house I was living in at the time.

At 21 I moved 1300 miles from home. I moved to at the time a small Florida beach town. Before I moved I saved up enough money to buy a new truck special ordered. I learned quickly how much people talk trash and hold your good doings against you

Some of the best people I have ever known were self made. Millionaires as well. Some of them wore jeans and collared shirts, drove pickup trucks, and could drop cash for a rolls if it tickled them. Some of them "flashy" as you tell. LOL I knew a guy that came back from vacation abroad and bought a new station wagon shotgun style (30 min deal in and out the door) because they brought back more than their car could hold - while the wife and family waited at the airport with the stuff. I knew another one who bragged about taking 8 kids to Florida for vacation for 500$ (cpa type and honest to a fault so it's true). Some of them wore suits and Rolexes and didn't get dirty. The common thread is that they all knew their limitations, didn't live credit card lives, and didn't worry what others thought. They worried about what they were doing, getting it done honestly, and taking care of their family. Idc what a guy wears or does if those are the standards he lives by, that's a good guy.

Difference is the Rolex will go up in value. My grandma used to say poor folks can’t afford to be cheap so buy something that lasts and holds it’s value.

All Birds don’t fly at the same height. Some birds fly low and some birds like to fly high. To each it’s own. Don’t be that person. Give genuine compliments to people bring joy to them. You do that and I promise you will see how rewarding it can be to you.

When people start on like that, I ask them if I was looking for them to pay my bills. When someone other than me has to pay my bills, they can have a say in how I spend my hard earned money.

I bought a Rolex Sub/Date over 20 years ago just because "I wanted it". It's now worth over 3 times what I paid for it. I was wearing it on a 12 day rafting trip through the canyons of southern Utah, rocks, water, dirt. A terrible place for a watch. One of the people asked why are you wearing such an expensive watch in this harsh environment. I told them it's the most rugged watch I own. I can beat the shit out of it and it will keep working. What If I had fallen in the water, and drowned and went missing. If they found me washed up on a beach 100 miles down river a month later, that watch would still be working.

My mother recently said "Me and your father could never justify spending that". I replied by saying "Thank you for your opinion". 🤣 That was the end of that conversation...
